  2. It was a win98 boot floppy with batch file to load drivers for nic, it had the most common nic drivers. then just mapped the netdrive and run ghost. company got new machines every quarter and programmers got them and the programmers old machine went to a someone like hr/accounting types.

  4. we used to use a boot floppy with net support and ghost. kept all the images on a server by computer model, then whenever we wanted to we'd boot with floppy and run ghost and bam just like it was when it came out of the box
  5. I have a wrt54g v5 ADSL the modem plugs into the wan port its a router so you could plug any thing into it if you have a good firewall/proxy/whatever. and its not worth ddwrt-ing the v5 or v6 not enough ram to do anything. :(
  6. if you have DHCP then you will have to do this every time the IP addy changes thats normally 1 day. if you have a static ip then you could use the net use command to map it :) if the DHCP server is any good it will never change as long as you don't change anything (reboot a few computers at the same time reboot the router things like that) it does happen when you take a laptop to work/cybercafe/other network and connect. then when you come home and reconnect you may get a different IP or if you don't reconnect to that network for awhile. :) depends on DHCP server scope.

  12. i'd go get a new ISP if they interfiered in my DLs it not their job to police the internet. let us know who your ISP is that way we don't use them. :) I assume your talking about P2P stuff because if they're blocking ftp and http WOW is all I could think of.
  13. No, but that's limited by the hardware in this case. Are you try to suggest that Vista isn't meant to be run on an older computer? I'v never herd such a ridiculous idea ;) That computer is basically only good at web browsing, IM'ing (i have to get gaim installed yet). Could do word processing on it if need be. and it probably flies :)
