Yeah I should probably have mentioned that. It does compress the signal. It spends about 10-20 seconds optimizing the connection, but it plays far better than i had thought possible. I have 384kbps up on my line. What's really cool is being able to watch on-demand programs on my ipaq wirelessly at work. :) No more magazines in the bathroom :)

Actually as far as bandwitdh, it's possible. I have a regular cable modem hookup at home, and stream my cable programming via the net with a box called Slingbox. They do use there own propriatary software, but it works pissah.

I have a solution! We slow down the earths rotation so we have 36 hours in each day. We already screwed the world with global warming, how much damage can this do? The planet will be fine. Only the occupants will be screwed. :)

I've always believed that that is exactly why whe need the right to bear arms. Criminals will ALWAYS be able to get guns. Although I have no problem with waiting periods, or required courses. If you're going to own a gun, you should know how it works. I'd rather have a gun and not need it, than need a gun and not have it. I'm american and a gun owner. I've always needed a fan running near me to fall asleep. Just for the sound, not at me. I've worn out too many to count. Some I've kept going longer than I should have. Having to take the grill off and spin it manually to get it going. It's nice to see so many people that sleep as strangely as I do. :)

why not? playing in a band is somehow what makes music more interresting - you get to improve a lot more... That's actually why I originally did it. To keep my chops up and pay for the rehearsal space. I'd rather play in an original band and be able to express my self.

I've played guitar, bass, and keys for about 21 yrs. Dabbled in drums. I never want to play in a cover band again.

I understand the monthly fees. It costs to run the servers. I don't like the full price box that is essentially useless without a subscription.It's just a front end to get on their severs. You may be able to argue that it's not full price since you get a free month, but I think it still should be cheaper than other stand alone games.

Mine was an Atari 400 with a whopping 16k of ram and a membrane keyboard. Oh the flat fingers from hours of typing. Didn't get a cassette recorder for it till a couple of months later. So when I was done with any basic programs, had to write them down and shutdown the box. :( Before that, I used to hang around the local Radio Shack and write little basic programs that displayed info about the computer, so they wouldn't kick me out. TRS-DOS FTW

Back in the 80's I was djg or Sysop*Dan when I ran my BBS. When I got into online PC gaming I was MiniMe. Cause it was a little me, especially in that Half life DM map of the giant kitchen. :) Then I was Thirdfret. Guitar player, obviously. :) And now I'm Atari6502, for my love of the original Atari 8-bit computers, which used the MOS 6502 Microprocessor. Oddly i've never owned a 2600. Started with the 400.

Yeah, that first one was really inventive. The second looked like Wess doin his crazy legs in WoW. :)
