Consider the manual upgrade via SSH

Sometimes after the upgrade via web interface, I've seen the MarkV hang on the updating screen....where a browser refresh will help.

brazen: can you log into your MarkVs web interface or SSH into your MarkV? As Seb said above, if you are not at 1.3.0 yet the web interface is the best and easiest way to go. If you can't log into your web interface, follow Sebs link above for the manual upgrade via SSH. The manual upgrade are pretty through if you have to go that route.

I stand corrected on the DHCP over eth0 but to answer your question........ Your laptop Ethernet is getting DHCP info from the MarkV. The GW it gets via DHCP is 172.16.42.1, which is back to the MarkV rather then out to your laptop wifi connection. More importantly, when the MarkV is tethered to a PC, it will use 172.16.42.42 as its GW.

I believe by default, MarkV DHCP is via wireless only and you would need to statically give your laptop NIC an IP in the MarkV range when connected via eth0.

Are you doing the 1.3.0 upgrade via SSH or via the MarkV web interface?

I believe just refreshing your browser will do it but a reboot cant hurt.

Did you update karma? Newest was released yesterday. Before that I was having similar issues.

Hello Seb, I did....right after the 1.3.0 update. Is there a way via the pineapple I can see what version of karma is running? As you know, I can see what versions of installed infusions via pineapple bar but karma is not listed there.

I updated 1.3.0 and then updated karma but my 'Karma Intelligence Report' is now not reporting anything like it did prior to the 1.3.0 update. Everything thing else in karma seems to be work though.

Correct, you should not need the dip switches till you intend to add some customization to the V, such as on boot instructions. The key to learning the V is patience and reading current/past forum posts. Its all here. It make take several trials to get something working but it will. Focus on one infusion at a time......get one to work......like karma.......then get sslstrip to work..........then perhaps jammer. Trying all at once can lead to a mess and then where do you begin to troubleshoot. The V is a lot of fun with patience and reading. Enjoy!

That power bank has been sold out for a week now.....bummer.....I so wanted it. Trying to find an alternative .......prefereblly from Amazon as I want to pick up an ALFA at the same time from there (ALFA AWUS036NHA 802.11n Wireless-N Wi-Fi Adapter with fast throughput speed). I have the pineapple juice the came with the pineapple but I want to get the rPi going in the same setup.

I have the pineapple juice that came with my wifi pineapple, so the additional battery pack would be to power the pi. From your resource it appears the Alfa AWUS036NHR from my link is a poor choice.

AWESOME work everyone! You have got me inspired to get creative with my pineapple. Santa Clause has actually asked me what I wanted for Christmas this year and I thought Id asked for a external battery pack for my Kali raspberry pi and a ALFA unit.
