  1. I had one of those, it was great for games, but sucked balls for Lightwave in NT4. However, unless Intel can pull a very shinney rabbit out of there silicon hat, my next machine will be an AMD. Hopefully an operton system.
  2. Its not something i've heard of else where to be honest, and i have to mention that I've not been using the latest gen of AMD gear. But quite a few AMD/Nforce systems can't alt-tab whilst playing music without skipping, that I have seen. Not done any research on this, its purely what i've noticed.
  3. One of the few things i've not done actually, might have to make some calls. <please note 2 things about drugs: 1: If your under 18, don't even think about them, your brains not developed yet, and your mind certainly hasn't. Don't fuck around with things you won't be able to fix. 2: Know your body, know your mind, know your substance & know your source >
  4. Its a shame about Intel, i've always been a fan but its harder and harder to justify that now. AMD products, in my expirence, while damn fast are not as stable as Intel based systems when your doing long winded complex multitasking. Not sure what it is, but the AMD systems will fly doing one thing, yet struggle with lots of stuff being run at once. Seen this repeated with lots of systems so its not just my personal stuff. Anybody know why?
  5. Emo drunk? nah... don't drink a great deal any more (it doesn't agree with me). Fear & Loathing style benders is where its at... /hopes someone else can see the damn bats...
  6. Not sure mate, you need a certificate from your doctor before you can come to one of my partys. And the number for a good rehab clinic, the come-down was a bitch lol.
  7. The video of a party we had... We got a noise complaint from the pub next door, 200+ people attended and someone kicked a wall threw...
  8. Macs are over priced, but pretty cool. But something about them just annoys me after awhile, probally the shitty mouse that does it. 1 button is not enough. Plus, its harder to pirate apps. (pirating games sucks, but pirating a £700 program that you wouldn't be able to access otherwise... not so bad in my view. Adobe has to admit that some of there sucsess comes from students pirating there stuff, learning how to use it, then going to to work in jobs where there apps are paid for... kinda like a free training program. Without that, who would spend that much on a program they didn't know how to use (a 30 day demo is not enough))
  9. Been "hacking" for longer than you've been wearing pants and I still can't read that shit....
  10. There's some dude somewhere who's probally DOS'd to death ATM.
  11. I can do a pretty damn tastey honey glazed roast chicken, and my bolognese ain't to bad...
  12. http://www.usbwifi.orcon.net.nz/ While i was working for BT Broadband we used the wifi-wok method to help out with dodgey singles. Yup, it sounds dumb, no one belived me, but it actually worked. Got a family online with there wifi by getting the daughter to hold a wok behind the USB wireless dongle and point it at the router (big house, listed building, 2' thick stone walls, router on far side of house due to dumb phone enginer).
  13. I really never saw the point with PSP's, not like you can do a great deal with them. Now something like a UMPC or a Nokia 770, thats useful.
  14. Boris Boris Boris.... could of run the country but you fucked that one up as well... oh well... who's up for Gordon "2 jags" brown and his economy of doom.
  15. But you see now that i've downloaded it, convince me to buy the DVD... Things like the 4400 and Taken, both things i've downloaded. There also things I watched all the way threw in one go, and will probally never watch again. Again. if i can download it, convince me to by the DVD in 2 months time.
  16. I think so, but my version is less pretty. If you look at all important public desicions, there not decided on fact, or a moral choice, there based on the whim of the masses and the politicans who pander to them. Lobby groups, media and advertising formed as a response to this as it allowed people to manipulate what the public wanted. So, if the RIAA convinces the public that DRM is good, then that is what they will cheer for. We have to sow seeds of doubt before they can do that, its the only way. So tell everyone you know about the evils of DRM. But then, as someone who creates things, at some point I want to get paid for the time and effort I put into that. True, there does seem to be a disparity between some peoples actual effort <cough>tom cruise<cough>, and the money they want as a result. But still, if i've spent months in dark rooms with photoshop and after effects/premier the last thing to make me happy is some little shit pushing my work on bit torrent for free. But then you get things like TV shows, like Lost, which i download. I don't want to pay for TV, because TV is free. But I also want to watch TV from around the world. But then again i don't watch the adverts. Maybe if google video could provide a way of pushing shows around the world globally but with locally relevent adverts in the commercal breaks. That way Joe's pizza down the block could get a slot on the Daily Show, with an advert saying "call now and say "the daily show rules" for a free garlic bread. But only your block would see it, the next block would see an advert for kasihers kebbabs on the next street. Its hard because the world is becoming increasingly more expensive to live in. Capitalism has lead to the amazing sucsess of advertising, its made us want everything. Which is now something they can charge more for. But there is a finite limit to how much money we can spend. So in a culture where we're pushed to desire everything, yet are unable to fund this, is it anywonder people jump at a chance for free things?
  17. What we need to do is start our own FUD campaign against them. The battle for the public hasn't started yet, there still buying CD's and think of downloads as a novelty rather than a standard. What we need to do is convince them that DRM is bad before the record companys can convince them its all bad. And as with all indoctronation, the younger/stupider the better. If the average john doe in a pub thinks DRM is bad, the RIAA will have a harder time since it was them who "broke his computer".
  18. They're scared, really scared. Thats why there on the attack. The problem is that they've built a nice empire, slowly buying up and consolidating everything they can. And suddenly somebody invents a much better, faster system and they're not in control. There are lots of issues though, but the hours of digg and /. debate can be some up as: There charging to much for low quality DRM'd crap, and they expect us to like it. Right now there winning, but wait until DRM is unleashed on the great unwashed masses. If they piss the tabloids off there finished.
  19. ^^^ far to long on the "post a reply" page...
  20. Has anyone stopped to consider if this might just be a dude with an owned box that doesn't know it.
