  1. just realised i'm not 100% sure what an emo is...
  2. Tool live has to be one the strangest hours of my life. 60000 people, all stood still, just in awe, and it was at sunset to. But it was just weird, everyone was on the same level, the bikers, the fashion-rockers, the goths... kinda thing that burns itself into your soul. Slayer were pretty cool to, although I nearly died in the mosh pit (i accidently got mixed in with the bikers and there slam pits.),
  3. Metal... even went to Ozzfest, Tool have to be the best live band ever
  4. hmmm... i see.... fair is fair i suppose... <powers up photoshop> Now EVERYONE SHALL BE EMO!
  5. I used to like that type of music, then I started going to illegal raves. Nothing like meeting a 7ft black guy with scars all over his face... whos dancing like a fool and handing out free water.
  6. How in gods name did i get tarred with the emo brush? I mostly listen to breaks, house and DnB...
  7. http://www.polarcloud.com/tofu I'm using HyperWRT +tofu 13b, works like a treat. Although do your homework before you install it! For your situation, i'd get something along the lines of a 16port switch (about £50 or local) and a seperate broadband router. Then just hook all the gamers into the switch with cables and uplink that to the router, then everyone has internet as well as high speed gaming locally. The router will have no problem assigning the IP's, i think my linksys can handle something like 1000 computers.
  8. either way, the gun gets things done.
  9. I just threaten my computer with a gun until it complies.
  10. I once woke up 8 floors up on a fire escape... does that count?
  11. For this particular bit of kit, i belive the max it uses is 9v DC... which in transistor terms means.... what? Champagne all round or a nasty burning smell?
  12. Is there a solid state version of a relay? Something without moving parts?
  13. Doing it with a manual switch (ie the power goes out, unplug and connect the batterys) would be pretty simple. Hell i got it to work with nothing more than sticky tape and a kitchen knife. But making it automatically switch would need an additional PCB, which you must be able to get off the shelf or make fairly quickly. An easy way of making it last longer is getting some airsoft batterys and connecting them up.
  14. The UPS idea is cool, don't know enough to build the circuit to switch between batterys and mains though. It would be nice to work a solar cell into it somehow, and rechargeable batterys. Then you have a ethernet repeater that could work any place without a power point. The covert idea is nice also, just hollow out an old textbook and use that as a case. Add a gumstick linux computer into the mix, and possibly wireless to. That way you could leave the book somewhere, and have a remote control wireless hacking device. But thats waaaaay beyond me.
  15. Could you use some kinda man in the middle attack to steal the passwords that you need? Torture is an option, but not one worth taking, and certainly no need for violence. Even Israel realises this, although the US goverment still thinks torture is cool. Plus, if you have people on your payrole capable of it, you'll probally need to kill them in the end. There not the type of people you want hanging around. I still say do a 2 pronged attack, one with the hacking tools on a floppy or a network attack. And use social enginering & NLP to get as much info as you can about the network. Wasn't there a study that showed a fair number of workers would give up logins for as little as a cup of coffee or a free pen?
  16. A generically offensive term for lesbians
  17. Dr Metatron just sounds so much cooler though... although you'll need a cape and some form of headgear.
  18. I once foolishly spent about £20 on cheapo energy drinks in a nightclub, danced like a loon until i realised i felt very very wrong indeed. Then spent the night shivering and pouring with sweet, hoping my eyes wouldn't explode.
  19. http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/ DSL might do it.
  20. http://wilstar.com/caffeine.htm Coffee, Drip 115-175 Coffee, Brewed 80-135 Coffee, Espresso (2 ounces) 100 Coffee, Instant 65-100 Red Bull (8.2 oz) 80.0 Well it see-- <sounds of VaKo's heart exploding>
  21. Just wondered where you got this from? I'm a big coffee drinker, and as a result the coffee i brew has gotten progressivly stronger to the point it makes most people ill. Does me no harm in anyway I can tell but I would put it way above redbull as a result .
  22. You know, as soon as you get to college (UK education system, 16+) it stops. Mainly because the first person I saw taunt a gay guy at my art college literally lost his front teeth...
  23. Didn't gut the power supply since I still use this switch in rare circumstances. Plus, I want it self contained. My plan is to get a soldering iron and work on this some more. To broke to buy more batterys right now, so once i have it set up a little nicer I'll do some more extensive testing and work out how long it lasts. And yes, if anyone knows anything about electronics, please enlighten us. I know the basics... but thats about it. If i can get some gum-stick batterys (what they use in sony MD players) i should be able to fit this entirely in the case. The AA's are slightly to fat once the PCB is back in its box. The adaptor says 6v, but a multimeter shows its putting out closer to 9v. Also, goes to show what you can do with half an hour, some tape, cat5 & foil and old electronics kit.
