  1. everything ubiquiti makes is top shelf. i have a few of their products. the srx 300, the sr71 usb, the ubiquiti router station board with 3 ubiquiti xr2's, and im thinking about getting the pico station, which looks super sick, and uber tiny.
  2. i dont get it, why would you pay 2 times the money for a macbook pro just to format it and put linux on it? you could easily get a better spec'd machine for probably half the price in a pc and run linux on it all day long. now i know thats not the trendy cool iThing to do but it just seems like it would make more sense.
  3. yeah um how much did that cost you?
  4. whats totally kick ass is my peplink multiwan router using neighbors wifis giving me almost 80megs down
  5. my home computers are my work computers
  6. thats why vector carries the subcompact or the usp. ENDGAME
  7. i used my cellphone htc touch hd. pictured on the right next to my old htc touch diamond.
  8. shit man that is l33t hax. can you give me a walk through or post a tutorial on how this exploit works.
  9. check elcomsoft. i have the whole security suite. youll find some good tools there.
  10. im not sure what "random hacking" is
  11. if youre planning on downgrading a laptop that came with vista preinstalled from a place like dell then you arent going to find any xp drivers for your hardware on the dell site. when you install xp alot of the hardware will find its drivers from the windows update, but for the rest youre going to have to go to the manufacturers site for each piece of hardware and download the xp drivers, this will probably include your wireless card, mobile chipset drivers, sound card, and graphics drivers, and probably some others too.
  12. im not entirely sure what youre asking for, could you be a little bit more specific?
  13. ok so who cares if people call them laptops or not? calling it a portable or notebook or anything else is still not going to change the amount of heat it will generate, and it certainly wont stop people from putting them on their laps, if people wanted desktops then they would buy desktops, and people arent going to only use a "notebook" computer sitting upright at their desk just because its been relabeled from laptop to portable computing machine. a simple laptop cooling pad will prevent overheating.
  14. the major OEM's are able to sell computers at cheap prices because they have huge buying power. they buy processors, motherboards, graphics cards, harddrives, etc etc by the thousands even hundreds of thousands, so obviously they get better prices than the average joe walking into a frys or best buy looking to purchase just one harddrive or upgraded processor. and most of the computers you open up will have intel mobos, but sometimes youll find asus, msi, or even gigabyte, etc etc and boards that are labeled as Dell or HP are typically made by one of the major board makers but have specifically written bios's for the OEM's that sell them.
  15. check out objectdesktop ultimate suite. its got some pimp apps for completely customizing your windows environment. theres basically nothing you cant do.
  16. you know i hear this type of thing from alot of people. people will say "oh dont buy this company cuz they make crappy hardware or dont buy this brand because they suck" etc etc. but what a lot of people fail to realize is that none of these companies actually manufacturer any of the hardware in their computers. dell, hp, gateway, acer, etc etc. if youve ever spent any amount of time inside any laptop or desktop youll see that none of the parts will say dell or hp or any of that. you get for example an asus motherboard, with an intel or amd processor, with a samsung optical drive, with a seagate harddrive, some kingston ram, and maybe an ati or nvidia gpu. and the same for all the companies. so for someone to say that any one particular company is better quality than any other is nonsense. dell is not better quality than hp, and acer is not crappier quality than any other. you arent buying parts made by these companies, youre just buying a package that they put together for you with parts from tons of different companies. all these OEM's are is a Value Added Reseller (VAR). when i said i liked dell thats just because ive owned alot of dells and i like their formfactors, also hp. they make good looking laptops and desktops. but as far as the internal components. its all teh same shit.
  17. yeah foxhunt is cool if you have some buddies that are into wardriving, have their own vehicles, and you live in a small town with not enough wardriving opportunity. in a bigger city youll have plenty enough to do with the avail wlans around town. i live in las vegas so you can imagine im always finding new shit when im out war D'ing. also i see noone wants to help out my wigle.net
  18. i second vote for dell. i'm a little partial to dells they have nice designs, ive never had one break on me. i know basically on the inside it dosnt really matter what company you buy from because none of these companies dell, hp, gateway etc actually manufactures any of the internal components. tech support can be a bitch like VaKo said so most of the time i just DIY my shit. but if you think youre going to need any type of tech support then one of the business class dells or xps are going to get you much better service. if i need to talk to a live agent via the dell online chat, i just put in my service tag number from one of my xps's and i never have to wait in the queue.
  19. its called an express card 34/54. express cards are the newer, cardbus are the older. and the internal card slot is called mini pci express
  20. ok so it depends. you can get an express card there are only 2 that i know of with external antenna ports one of them i own its the ubiquiti srx 300 and it has one mmcx connector. you could also add an internal mini pci express or half mini express card and get U.fl to sma pigtails and run those to the outside of your case to hookup any antenna you choose.
  21. youre not going to find any new laptops with the older cardbus (pcmcia) card slots, additionally you wont find any cardbus or express cards with an sma or an rp-sma antenna port. as for the rest of the specs you shouldnt have a hard time finding exactly what you need on any of the big box makers sites hp, dell, etc will have something for you, you can customize your own specs on your new computer.
  22. wow ok thanks sparda shit and i even posted in that thread twice. i thought there was a simmilar thread but i wasnt sure and i couldnt find any hits in the search.
  23. well i would move my ass the fuck out of kansas dorothy, or are you gonna wait until you get hit full on greensville style before you wake up and realize that superstorms are not good for your health.
