  1. i agree vako, the ipod touch isnt bad, but for the money you can get a nice smartphone with tons more features, better browser options, better screen resolution, better camera, better sync options. and youll have access to more apps and youll be able to customize and configure it better. theres just no comparison.
  2. the answer to your question is no. the virtual lmachine uses a virtual network adapter. so if the host machine isnt able to obtain an internet connection then theres no way for any client VM's to get an internet connection either.
  3. I still dont understand why anyone would want an ipod touch. I mean for 2-300 dollars you can get a nice ass smartphone that can do everything an ipod touch can do plus a shitload more. i dunno maybe i'm crazy but arent most people going to carry a cell phone with them anyways? why carry two seperate devices? in my opinion ipod touch is a ripoff waste of money. and the iphone is just plain played out.
  4. why dont you check out HHD. hhdsoftware.com
  5. why dont you just get an parallel to usb adapter?

are you sure about the wireless card chipset? Is it a mini-pci express card or is this an aftermarket card that you bought? if it is 5006 you might need to specify which 5006 chipset for example 5006x, 5006xs, 5006eg, etc. the best route for you might be ndis wrapper using windows xp drivers for 5006 or 5007eg.
  7. with object dock from stardock you can do this. it has an option to "reserve edge of screen" and any windows or icons will stay out of this area that is reserved for the dock even when you maximize them. also you can fully customize the speed settings of object dock if you want to set how fast it auto hides, reappears, set the speed of the icon animations etc. i noticed that you mentioned that it wasnt fast enough for you.
  8. If this is one of your specific duties of your job in the military, shouldn't you already be up to date on every possible method of data disposal? I would think that the U.S. government would have better methods for hard drive data disposal besides smashing them with hammers. Don't they wipe the data numerous times, and use a high powered degausser at least? or am I completely out of the loop here when it comes to government data.
  9. also wincustomize.com has some nice wallpapers.
  10. try to open a command prompt first then drag the app into the command prompt.
  11. All forums go through these periods. trust me any place you go will have the same thing. theres no avoiding it. rather than complaining about it you should be one of the people that contributes to more interesting and stimulating topics. try being a seeder instead of a leecher.
  12. basically if youre having trouble installing xp, man i dont know what to tell you. just give up on computers all together. if you cant even figure xp out then linux isnt going to help you.
  13. yeah its almost as bad as "Hey which laptop is good to buy plz halp"

  17. i use DeskSpace 3D, and object desktop ultimate for configuring my windows environments. Let me know if you want the hookup ;)
  18. h3%5kr3w i see your 3d windows. pretty nice pretty nice. heres mine on my xp box.
  19. the end of your post that i quoted you said this "That is true low cost ease of use for an enterprise or the home." And I'm not impressed with compiz or beryl. I can do anything compiz can do and more on both my windows XP and Vista boxen. your're free to challenge me to duplicate anything compiz can do. And I'll post screen shots.
  20. if you set the power options to put your computer into standby mode when you close the lid then go into user accouts in control panel you'll see that you can change the way users login. when the computer resumes from standby you can have the welcome screen popup where they can just click on the Guest accout to log right in.
  21. seriously who worries about the cost of windows? any new computer you buy comes with windows pre-installed, and you get a nice little re-installation disk just in case. I've never paid for any windows version. everyone talks about "ZOMG THE COST OF VISTA HOLY SHIT I'M NOT PAYING THAT" but when was the last time you or anyone you know had to pay for windows. Now I'm sure someone is going to say "well its factored into the price of your new computer blah blah blah you still have to pay for it" but really when someone looks at the price of a new computer they are looking at the specs:price ratio not which os comes installed. if you look at a computer and you say to yourself "damn thats a good fucking price" then you got a good deal. I mean do people really think that 3-400 dollars of a new computer price is for vista ultimate?
  22. only very old broadcom 43xx chipsets are compatible for use with airodump in windows, so i dont really understand your argument. also im sure someone wanting to go around cracking wireless encryption could also find a way around paying for an application for windows. newer compatible chipset cards are super cheap and many will have external antenna adapters and better configuration options than older chipsets. but to say thats a short list of compatible adapters and chipsets is just nonsense. compare it to the list of comatible adapters in the windows version of Aircrack-ng. also the aircrack-ng suite dosnt come even come close to the features that commview for wifi has, not even close.
  23. depending on how they have addresses assigned. and with things like wireless print server adapters when you reset the router you have to reassociate the adapter on the router before your printer will work again.
