  1. the drives still work though dont they? or are they totally dying? if so then they should be covered under warranty. if youre still able to use the drives in another maching then i would suspect failure in another part of the machine. but before you run around playing the guessing game i would get the BSoD error code from the bluescreen and find out what is actually crashing the system.maybe wanna update the bios version and raid drivers as well.
  2. ive never heard of that. i have a few computers that have upside down drives, sideways drives, drives suspended inside the case with rubberbands drives sitting on the carpet while theyre running, you name it. i think its alot harder than people think for a drive to just take a shit on you. especially that many drives in such a short amount of time.
  3. you can get the mini note 2133 for 399 now. thats your best value right there. i paid over 800 dollars for each one of mine when they first came out a few months ago. the specs are very nice and it has SOLID construction. i have two of these and they are very very nice.
  4. sure. It can be useful for encrypting your traffic on public wifi, also can be useful for circumventing restricted access to certain websites for people in other countries that may not otherwise have access to that information or those websites.

    PC Build

youre better off going with a faster clocked core2 duo unless youre going to be using alot of apps that will take advantage of a quad core proc. you could probably pick up a nice extreme edition 3ghz+ proc that will sail along just nicely and has good overclockability.
  6. I'm pretty sure thats a nintendo DS that he has. if you have the money you may want to look into HTC Shift or HTC Advantage.
  7. i already use such a program. two you want to look into are mobiola webcam 3 and mobiscope. will use any existing ip or webcam and send you an email or sms when motion is detected, let you login from your phone and watch, let you look at all past recordings, you name it. its probably one of the best apps i own.
  8. just wait and light him or her up with a paint ball gun full of frozen paintballs.
  9. what the hell? are you like 8 years old?
  10. haha yeah if only it was that simple.
  11. i use a couple of apps that will reconstruct captured packets in windows. one is netresident and the other is commview for wifi. both will reconstruct data in real time.
  12. i do this alot with commview for wifi. once yuo have the correct key yuo can decrypt all the traffic in real time and of course anything eles that youve already captured. it will also support real time wpa decryption but usually all you get is boring ass myspace logins or yahoo chat sessions. its really not that fun watching my neighbor shop on ebay for UGG boots. i'm more interested in leeching their toobs.
  13. if thats all youre going to be doing then whats the problem with windows?
  14. object desktop ultimate for vista and xp. theres nothing that i cant do. i can configure anything to do really anything i want and look any way i want. if i want fancy glowing 3d rotating icons i can do that or make my own icons, if i want fancy window effects i can make them do anything i want. its pretty much the gameover app for pimping out your windows environment. compiz dosnt even come close
  15. apparently you can only post so many picture links in a single post.
  16. yeah see ive been there done that already, but the specs on these are far better than any of my DIY cam cars or any that ive seen. these can operate autonomously, return to their charging stations on their own, you can log in from any web enabled device and control and or view the camera remotely, among other thing. they are pretty dope. heres a short little clip of some video i shot with one of them at an outdoor mall. http://la.gg/v/cam_car_outdoor_mall.asf
  17. im assuming this is on a windows box. theres a few apps that i use and like. it really depends on how you want to map your network. a couple of my favs are commview for wifi, essential nettools, and network magic pro. i wont go into all the features of all of them becuase that would take way too long but heres some examples of network maps that might help you.
  18. you either master technology or technology will master you.
  19. those pandoras are kids toys. if you want a mans toy get an HTC shift or HTC advantage x7510. those are pimp shit

    IP and Subnet

ok so your router is trying to automatically assign your computer an ip address on the local network lets say for example its set to assign addresses to computers from 192.168.1.100-150. then you come along and tell your computer that you want to be 123.456.789.10, this wont work. if you login to your routers config page through your browser you can change the settings and the way ip addresses are assigned on the LAN. if you want to set certain ip's for certain people when they logon you can do that so that youll have the same local ip everytime you connect to the lan or wlan. if you want to manually set an ip for your computer you should just do it from your routers settings and not the tcp/ip properties tab in your network cards settings. usually its best to just have those set to automatically detect. only in certain cases do you really need to mess with those settings.

what do you mean by "custom" ip address? and what settings are you trying to configure? how is your network setup? is this on your computer, your router, what? you need to give a little more details on what youre trying to do.
  22. im not sure what you mean.
  23. well you wont be spoofing his mac. if you cant use port mirroring to sniff his traffic then you should be able to arp poision just your segment and and sniff all the traffic going from your brother mac to the routers mac.
