  1. my suggestion to you would be to just swap out the mini pci express card. you arent going to find any express cards especially any with external antenna ports for under 50 bucks. the cheapest that ive found was a nice dlink one with an atheros chipset but didnt have antenna ports for about 70 bucks. i like ubiquiti like vako said i have the srx 300 the sr71 usb i have the sr71-e on back order and as soon as i can find a store with the sr71-x ill be getting that as well. they are a little pricy but if you have the extra moola well worth it. other wise check out oxfordtec.com for nice affordable mini pci express cards and antenna options. you can get a couple of the U.fl to sma pigtails pretty cheap if youre looking for external antenna options.
  2. ok dont take this the wrong way but you have just confirmed that you have no clue what youre talking about when it comes to mobile handsets. gain dont take that the wrong way i know its not your fault you just dont know any better. i have owned many many many many many mobile devices, from palm to ipaqs to samsung pda phones etc etc etc. many many many. most people base their opinions based on what they see from the carriers selections. how many actual devices have you owned that arent part of a carriers lineup?? my guess is not many. sorry to break it to you but the samsung i760 is craptastic even compared to the htc phones that carriers have such as the diamond (i own an unlocked diamond) and the touch pro (i also own an unlocked touch pro) not to mention the diamond 2 or the touch pro 2 or the htc touch hd (i also own unlocked touch HD) the specs dont come close not even close, and to for lack of any other description the samsung is just fugly.
  3. bottom line. htc makes the best phones hands down. there is no flame war there is no argument there is no two ways about it. it just is that way, and no amount of fanboi love can change it.
  4. IM LOLIN HARD. thats quite a menu.
  5. if your card is version 4 its Zydas1211 chipset. atheros aquired zydas and renamed it ar5007UG. so i would first download the 5007ug drivers from atheros and install them to your adapter. you might also want to check the vista autotuning mode. you can disable it from the cmd line with netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled and renable it with netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal restart your machine after you change the autotuning setting
  6. also dont forget that you can decrypt wireless packets that youve previously captured once you have the encryption key. but for on the fly decryption youll need to have the key for the access point youre monitoring
  7. unless youre using comm view for wifi youll be able to inject with any of the supported wireless adapters on the list, which is quite long.
  8. i would look into bluesoleil found out about this when i bought a bluetooth dongle a few years ago http://www.bluesoleil.com/
  9. well youre forgetting the underclockability as well. clock it to2ghz when i need a little more performance for video or multitasking and underclock it to around 1ghz when i need battery life and or cooler run temps.
  10. i like the overclockability of the 1000h
  11. ok so lets say youre tethering your phone over bluetooth just create the bluetooth dial up connection with your computer and your phone, then once you have done that you can go into "network connections" to the bluetooth connection and in the properties of that connection you can choose to share that internet connection to another network interface, in this case it will be your ethernet card. it should work without any other configuration, but you may have to adjust your firewall settings depending on what software you use.
  12. i use gremote on my touch diamond and touch HD http://gbmsoftware.com/
  13. http://www.ubnt.com/products/picostation.php thats what you needa get right there
  14. i would suggest ubiquiti.com they have some of the best, smallest and most powerful embedded systems. if yuo like you can even get something like a router station pro board and throw in a couple of different cards to give you even more options. the nano stations are also nice. another place i like is routerboard.com.
  15. ive been spending alot of time recently on the xda-developers forums
  16. this is crazy. i cant belive they would filter your mobile data. i mean i could understand if its a minor and they filtered maybe pron sites or something but even still i think this is crazy. and dont worry, the US govt is trying hard to take control of our internets so they can keep us nice and brain washed like north korea, china, and soon to be aussies and their hardcore web nonsense.
  17. why would anyone even need the Airpcap tx card nowdays?
  18. you know it really just depends on your setup, the environment your wireless network is setup in, the wireless adapters of the client machines, type of drivers and or connectivity software youre using, router firmware, antenna configuration, weather, and a shitload of other variables. how much do you want to spend? what type of wireless chipset are you looking for, are you going to be installing any different firmwares like tomato or dd-wrt? have you looked into building your own router? routerboard.com, ubiquiti.com, wlanparts.com. the list goes on. if you want an all out performance beast of a router and you have deep pockets you can build your own. but youll probably be fine with any standard wrt600N router with dd-wrt firmware installed.
  19. cant you just enable 5900 on your virtual machines then vnc to them from your phone and get a screen cap that way. i can do that with my windows mobile phone and the apps are readily available. depends on your phone specs though how well it will work.
  20. sorry dr0p i meant Amd Neo, not eon. im not sure when the exact availability date is and ive only seen one ultra portable so far that features is and thats the dv2 from hp and right now its only available on pre order. but i want one bad. i might even pre order one , not sure yet.
  21. i have a couple xps m1330s abso love them. if youre looking for a 14inch screen i would take a look at the hp dv4 series. i just recently ordered a dv3 and cant wait for it to get here.but the dv series looks like hp is really bringin it. i think i might get a dv2 also. amd is about to put the smack down with their new eon platforms.

  23. one day all you iphone fanboys will see that iphones fail in so many ways. get a proper windows mobile ppc phone. i personally love the htc smartphone/ppc phones. theres more apps than you can even imagine, win mobile is super hackable, theres huge winmobile communities like xda-developers and duttythroy.net (couple of my favs) and things like multitasking, file encryption, cut & paste, and everything else the iphone fails at comes standard. not trying to turn this into an iphone bash thread but i would seriously recommend ditching that overhyped ipod when your contract is up.
