  1. yep there hundreds of them, there fun to look at when your bored :) http://69.229.56.161/top/liveapplet.html and if you google around, you will find many in peoples houses that you can control, you will mainly just see people eating or watching tv so it's pretty boring
  2. pretty bad security flaw someone could use superpi and generate pi to 32 million places then print it out over night over and over
  3. it works well and has a good design, just wish there was a way to edit titles since it was pretty helpful in the past. anyway even if i could edit it at the moment, i wouldn't know what to edit it to to detail a problem that is happening within the limited text space available in the title
  4. not sure where to post this question but i was wondering, is there any way to edit thread titles. I have been having trouble editing it. i usually like to edit the date on it so people will know when it was updated or if there any problems with out having to click on it and read through it (makes it more convenient for everyone ) http://hak5.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=6014 because right now the thread title makes it seems that pandora is working fine but the thread contents will say otherwise (bait and switch doesnt seem very cool :) ) pandoras jar has been messed up for a few weeks now since they made a change over on the pandora site so not it always rips 1 song behind and the people who understand the source code well seem to have disappeared *cries*
  5. it can by any height as long as the cam can stay in focus then it will be good, (a slight blur is not bad but you want to keep it in focus as much as possible, the better the focus on the camera is, the smaller the box can be, also know that the closer the paper is to the cam, the smaller the workspace on the top of box ) i would have used a smaller box but i didn't have one that was a good size. the small ones were way too small and the large ones were too large so i used this box
  6. I did it with my webcam , took about 5 minutes to make the box and it actually works, the accuracy is not too good buy it works ok (it only goes up to 640x480 which doesnt fit too well on a 1440x900 screen (it spreads it out to fill the screen but that kills the accuracy ) i was able to get better accuracy using one of an antenna that goes to my RC car but it would be better if they could give it a different mode that works on light instead, so that way you can use like a laser pointer or those tiny light pens. that would give much better accuracy in my opinion. since that way it wont mistake the shadow from your hand as 30 touch points if you don't have good lighting in your room http://ssandler.wordpress.com/MTmini/ here is how the one i did looks (that + 2 desk lamp (each with a small 5-6 watt night light fixes the problem with random shadows ) so far i cant really find anything useful for this but it is a good time waster if your bored
  7. yep that size is perfect for a mobile user, but it doesnt give any indication if a forum topic has had any new replies like in the regular forums it will have a indication like a faded icon for already read and a non faded one for a thread with a new reply it would be better if the lofi version could have something like topics with new replies are in bold and ones with out new replies or have already been read and theres nothing new will be in normal text with out any bold
  8. the new forum design is really good. everything loads quickly just wish there were a feature to make our own custom forum list, like in fusetalk where users could make a custom forum list of only the ones they use on the top, then the other that they are less likely to use can either be hidden or set to come after the ones they use or be part of a drop down menu this will be great for mobile devices with limited screen space
  9. xp much faster, better for gaming i dual boot vista and xp only use vista when providing support for a vista user, other than that i use windows xp as it is much faster and more responsive
  10. No it's not. the ones that don't drm their crap will often be very limited in their content selection amazon has drm free music but their song selection is not very large and no legit drm filled site has even close to 5% of the music that you will find on a site that pirates music even if the drm is not too annoying, just having it there is chaining you to the company when when they sink, that stone block chained to you is pulling you down also
  11. yep, they complain about piracy and they complain about online stores. there too stupid to see that if a store was to have as many cd's as itunes had, there would be a pile of cd's going up like 4000 feet online distribution is much more efficient and if they look at piracy, you will see that most piracy is not on the popular radio songs. it is in songs that people cant really find in stores. record companies need to stop expecting to buy a cd based on the cover art. people want to hear all of the songs first, and just a 30 second clip is not enough. i have herd songs that were extremely good based on the sample, only to find that there either crappy with only a 30 second good part, or a 30 second hook that repeats making the song suck i understand trailers and samples for movies because people only watch them once. but music, people listen to over and over. i wont buy a song if i don't first hear the whole thing
  12. did you stress test to make sure the overclock was stable?
  13. remember when overclocking, the slower you do it, the better results you will get. when i build and overclock PC's for other people, i generally let them know that it will take a week for them to get the pc because of all of the testing needed and all of the changes needed to get the best overclock possible while remaining in a good temperature
  14. http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20080...c-drm-keys.html Customers who have purchased music from Microsoft's now-defunct MSN Music store are now facing a decision they never anticipated making: commit to which computers (and OS) they want to authorize forever, or give up access to the music they paid for. Why? Because Microsoft has decided that it's done supporting the service and will be turning off the MSN Music license servers by the end of this summer. ...Bennett insists that MSN Music keys are, in fact, not yet expiring. Technically speaking, that's true if I authorize one of my PCs, never get rid of it for the rest of my life, and never upgrade its OS, I will be able to play my tracks forever. But as some of our readers note, this technicality is not rooted in reality the authorizations will now expire when the computer does basically when you buy drm'ed crap, the content will only last as long as the company, and no company lasts for ever this mainly goes for anything that is drm'ed externally while some will say just burn them to cd and rip them again, think about how many cd's you will have to burn and rip if you have $500+ worth of music it will be a expensive and time consuming and frustrating and monotonous backup process
  15. just did a full system scan, no problems here
  16. it is mainly a firmware limit to prevent damage to the ccd. when it is in record mode, the ccd is being forced to process a much higher res image than the preview window and extended use can damage it or cause hot pixels to form (which are permanent) other cameras have this limit in order to sell a more expensive camera that doesnt have the limit. most canon cameras have hacked firmware available for them but none of those hacks allow you to remove the limit, they will generally allow you to change the quality but not the limit. i recommend you get a device designed to record video. the ccd im a digital cam will not last as long as the one in a camcorder, there just not designed for that duty cycle
  17. i wish the original maker of pandoras jar was still working on it. based on how pandoras jar currently is, it is nearly impossible for a proper rip using firefox 3 but of someone who knows the code well would work on improving it then they are sure to get it working on firefox 3
  18. doesnt really have much to do where the program is stored, the problem is that they made some changes in firefox that made it nearly impossible to grab the tracks for some reason, and since it is not the safest to have all users use a outdated version of firefox for web browsing, i did a standalone version so they can keep their updated safe copies, then the outdated copy for the sole purpose of handling of doing all things pandora related
  19. i always wondered, do they ever check those abuse e-mails?
  20. cool whats the average range on that?
  21. theres an up to but they also guarantee a minimum speed like with verizon, they guarantee at least 70% of your promised speed any less and it is a problem and if they cant fix it, then you can downgrade to a cheaper package where you will get at least 70% of the speed. or stick with the current one and get ripped off
  22. i hate isp's that cap bandwidth and even worst, ones that throttle if i pay for a 6 Mbit connection, then i want that 6Mbits on everything i do would you buy a processor that claimed to be 400GHz but only runs at 400GHz when using MS word but 1GHz for everything else?
  23. don't think they allow sig images but we could do a avatar for you i would use my sig but it is too large for this forum and no one else realls uses sig images here http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/6420/cutefoxesqm2.jpg[/img] and a older one i did also http://img249.imageshack.us/img249/146/sotw129go.jpg[/img] i used to have it on another forum i go to then i some people teased me on spelling we're wrong i will have to correct that in the psd file
