If you supply 12V to the DC Barrel you'll only need 1.5A (12V*1.5A=18W). The TETRA wants 18W and it doesn't care if that's supplied over 5V or 12V.

zoro25 - the max output of your battery is 5V/2.1A. I'm not sure where you're getting the 10V/3.1A number, but you're only supplying 10.5 Watts (W=V*A) and while that's sufficient for light operation, you'll run into instability as you increase load. It's for this reason that we're shipping two Pineapple Juice 15000 batteries with the TETRA (5V*2.1=10.5W) * 2 = 21W (above the recommended 18W).

This would make a fantastic module and yes, it's basically as simple as you've described. I'd go about it with dnsmasq and the built in webserver.

Do you have the log? An SSID can be up to 32 characters (though the frame will technically support up to 255). I've seen some crazy SSIDs in my day...

At boot the LED sequence is Yellow solid, followed by 15 seconds of no LED, then Blue Blinking until bootup is complete. Once booted, the LEDs indicate the following: Blue: wlan0 (almost always on unless you manually disable the radio) Red: wlan1mon (used for sniffing/injection by PineAP) Yellow: eth0 (for instance if you have the TETRA plugged into a wired network) Regards, Darren

If you don't have wireless clients at home I don't think it makes sense - but here at the Hak5 warehouse we have plenty so having both 2.4 and 5 GHz networks is really convenient.

The instruction card simply echos what's printed on the inside of the box, to visit wifipineapple.com/tetra to get started. As the WiFI Pineapple software is ever evolving there's no good printed solution that can keep up well. That said, if this isn't satisfactory please email me with your order # and I'll ship you the card.

Make sure you allow routing both ways between src and dst. As for client gateway is community edition - no I never found this, hence using AS. :-/

Take a look at the /etc/config/firewall file and pay attention to the zones and src/dst routing. I did a video on this recently in regards to the LAN Turtle -- you can find it here:

Awesome! Glad it arrived! Like Seb said, the RJ45 Ethernet port is for WAN. If you plug it into a network it'll look for an address from DHCP. To access the web interface over Ethernet, connect the cable from your computer to the ETH micro USB port. The DC barrel port is for 12V, not 5V -- that's why it's labeled as such and why we included the power information sheet. The USB barrel cable that's included with the Pineapple Juice 15000 is for the older Mark V model WiFi Pineapple and won't power the TETRA. It seems I should have removed it from the box as not to cause confusion. Sorry about that! To battery power the TETRA, connect the USB cables to the two Pineapple Juice 15000 packs. That'll supply enough current and then some :). Unfortunately since your TETRA arrived today, and based on your comment, you probably only received one battery by mistake. Again, I'm really sorry about that. We'll be contacting you and the few others who were only sent one by email tomorrow to confirm the shipping of a second battery. It'll be shipped at no cost to you. There's more info on that from the first page of this thread. Anyway, do that and I'm sure you'll get setup in short order. What's the chipset in the Panda? Edit: Looks like a Ralink RT5372 which uses the rt2800usb driver. That should be baked in. I don't have a Panda handy but I'll check with a similar card that uses the same driver and report back. Edit2: Works with our RT5370 "nubbin" which uses the same driver... Edit3: Brought it up with Seb. He made a face, did some typing, and now it's fixed. Update the networking module again :)

To my knowledge every backorder has gone out aside from a handful of special cases where we're waiting on customer responses regarding address changes or other shipping logistics. If you could, please email shop@hak5.org _and_ darren@hak5.org with your order # and I'll look into it. Sara even drove two to the post office after our 4 o'clock pickup to make sure they're all out. Trust me, if we could teleport them all into your laps we would. It sounds a little outside the scope of the PineAP suite, but I'll see if Seb can't add that feature to the next software update :)

Just for further clarification regarding the batteries. Initially we developed with the single Pineapple Juice 15000 and it was adequate for normal operation. When we enhanced the RF shielding for system stability (the reason for the delay) we had the opportunity to further increase the power, but now it draws 15% more. On the one hand it means the thing is just that much more beastly, but sadly it's the camel that broke the straws back in regards to the Pineapple Juice 15000. The second battery solves this, and we're looking at building a dedicated battery base for the Tetra. I'm still sketching it up but I'm thinking a stackable unit that'll do 24-48 hours operation, possibly user configurable with 18650 lipo cells - so let me know if that's something that interests you guys.
