  1. olde fashioned question: does your graphics card support overlay, is it set up correctly?
  2. uber_tom

    problem

    so use a boot disk
  3. I think we must have a few PS3's at work.
  4. Changed the language, new font, installed some i.e language 'required' to view your favourite pron/warez site. I give up. This is a test right?
  5. Hope everything goes well for your *cough* 'sister'
  6. Damn straight, i'll bet by now its an entwined its self so deep in you 'OS' it could almost be called an integral part. Tabbed browsing. now there is an idea. Those Microsoft guys are geniuses. first Qdos for PC then mac OS and now OSX.
  7. Interesting, especially the 512 byte block size but i think i'll stick to ext2 &3 cos i'm a very lazy man.
  8. hmmm I'm not so keen on censorship, regardless of how much it seams to be a good idea. banning things because its the anti-flavour of the month is wrong on so many levels. yeah kids are getting fat, but you cant blame it on the food they eat, the simple fact is kids dont go outside and play... how about counter ad's. hide and seek.....it's fannnnnnnnnnntastic. climbing trees, lots of fun and it'll cost you nothing. mind you they'd probably get banned too, i mean kids could fall out of trees and hurt them self. if they hide and separate that just makes them easier prey for that vast army of paedophiles.
  9. yeah you're probably right, i know nothing. i would think nmap could give you the ip of the sever, or it'd be in some log or .ini somewhere. As for the password i'd guess it'd be in a password file somewhere, using a standard windows hash. undoubtedly more info in the USB switchblade section. (im not really into that kind of thing) As for exactly which files contain the info you need, i think you'd need to do some research. so at the risk of sounding like a bastard....google it :)
  10. hmmmm do i want a 486dx4 100 or a p60?
  11. Would it affect the performance as much if you had the web sever (or cs server) running on a virtual machine?
  12. I’m not entirely sure i understand the question. But most distros support samba, but last time i set up a mixed environment i had to enter the password (but then i was also hosting the samba on a Linux box).
  13. yeah sorry it used to be the win partion on mine, its edited now
  14. suddenly it seams very complicated. i'd just add this line to fstab /dev/hda1 /mount/win ntfs user, auto 0 0 and then just mkdir /mount/win to mount it just (you dont need to be su if its in fstab) mount /mount/win or mount /dev/hda also the 'auto' should mount it at boot
  15. I once got 1.02 mbs, but that was a legal torrent, with lotsa seeders and no leachers. I usually get around 50kbs, but 120 is pretty common too.

    Key re-binding

I’m almost sure you can (or could) use a command line version of regedit. Could you not write a script to change the key and launch your game and the change it back when you've stopped playing?
  17. http://www.vnunet.com/vnunet/news/2168540/...gpl-ing-solaris neat
  18. Welcome to the internet, the last bastion of free speech.... oh wait, no its not.
  19. I wouldn't have thought specsto be the problem, bandwidth maybe but specs no. I'd have thought you would have had a harder time finding something that couldn't host CS 1.6. I think the min were (that's WERE, before all the patches) about p233 with 32 meg ram and not alot of disk space, as for the web server side that should also be plenty. though i guess this would depend on the plugins and what not.

    RAM Settings

wait I'm confused, did you mess with these settings yourself. just jump your BIOS back to default, and then mess with them again, and so on till you get the results you want. Personally there are enough bottleneck's in my system to make messing with RAM timings unjustifiable. so i dont claim to know much about such things. mind you pc2700 is still insanely fast in my head.

    telnet

hmmmm telnet.... tel...net.... TEL.......NET, could mean anything. Seriously its outdated and insecure. use SSH .I like.....dots...
  22. With the default KDE window manager you can mess with all kinds of stuff and force full screen, but you didn't say what OS your running.
