I want to install ubuntu with the cd my friend gave me its the newest 6.10 version, but i have files on my windows like alot of roms for emulators, i am wondering if there is a way i can install ubuntu and be able to get the files from windows and put them on my ubuntu, i hope u understand the question, by the way im doing this because i have no cds, please help

ok i dunno if this helps but my computer is a HP pavillion xt963 and all resolutions it wont go to 32 bit color

my video card is a built in intel one and its memory size is 32mb but it can only display up to 24 bit color, but i have an extra video card its memory size is 8mb but it can display up to 32 bit colour why doesnt my mother board video card display 32 bit colour?

is there any way i can replace my windows with osx

Back to the point, can someone tell me what distro to use that comes with a nice gui, and runs a web server with php and mysql so i can start a web portal like joomla and if so instructions on how to set it up

Ive got a blank cd and I want to put linux on my computer, I dont know what distro to get, I want to have a full gui that looks good but I want to run a web server that has php and mysql as well, can anyone make some recomendations

I want to put install linux on my computer but I dont have any blank cd's to burn an iso, a friend of mine has the image burnt but he lives in another state, i do not have a floppy drive , all i have is a cd drive and a 1 gig usb storage device, my bios doesnt boot from usb,,,, anyway is there a way my friend could somehow install linux on my computer with his cds from his computer?? or is there a way i could still do it.? thx so much in advance
