i am a n00b to linux im pretty skilled in teh windows hacking is one steep learning curve but im enjoying the challenges it presents and im hooked ... i used to pick locks for a hobby n this is very similar but way more rewarding anyone who can help me get kismet working i will reward with some free nerdcore dubstep lovelyness ;0)

picpick is free but only does stills does not do video ... but is very good ... oppose to snagit which used to be awesome and is now poop i cant suggest an open source / free app but ... magix movie editor is cool if you can source it cheaply enough ;)

yeah i so want one its the pc fair again on tuesday im gonna have a look see if they have some i7 boards n start pricing one up ... im sure the ram from my current rig will still be compatible and my graphics card i figure piece by piece is better than spending loads all at once what operating systems are compatible with the i7 ? i saw vista and 7 in his dual boot ... i hope ubuntu supports i7's ... and never in my life had i seen hard disks like that ... they're crazy did u spot the mad clock in the video with the led text thing ? ... i only noticed that today showing a friend so jealous lol and just for the record ... lights on your pc = gay unless its the hd / pwr / stdby light lol

yeah and google.com lol :) i've got a fair few things working but struggling with some TRK ... wont run ... and u cant have ubuntu and bt4 installed at the same time bc the casper dir needs to be in root i got kon boot working but tried it on 3pcs n its failed ophcrack is awesome cdlinux is nifty bt4 is pretty cool but im having driver issues hence installing ubuntu live ... but thats readonly i think :( (cdlinux is the only live os ive found that allows you to write files to the usb)

cant get this to work on ubuntu :( installer generated a few errors and i can exec ./dru :( let me know if you manage to install it & how if anyone has any joy modding ubuntu / bt4 holla ... im all ears

cheers for the advice i posted a message on the ophcrack forum yesterday .... will wait to see if i get a reply. ill check your links out too ^^ you mentioned in your post 'too many write cycles' <<< so you mean you can frazzzle usb stick using them to boot from ? will let you know if ophcrack replies ;) tbh its darn annoying not being able to save the files to usb ... there are going to be occasions when you need to grab data fast ... ie... save the hashes to disk for analysis later .... you'd think it common sense to be able to save the data .... would it be possible to install ophcrack to cdlinux ? this would save alot of hassle :) i think this should be pretty straight forward ... i just checked the site and grabbed the source ... will try installing in a mo ;)

dont know dude but im going to make one soon ... you should just make it and test it :0) there are other methods to install your apps/script if the hacksaw fails ... ill start watching the vid again now n if we both encounter any probs we could help one another out the multipass is a much better place to start if you havnt got one already ... and do you have a u3 compatible usb ? u need one for the hack to work ... i have a mini photo frame im sure is u3 compatible

is there anyway to make ophcrack not readonly ?

u mean most are detected by paranoid av's .... as they are not really viruses or malware but i suppose they could compromise systems avast hasnt picked these up btw.... i programmed a calculator the other week to convert from on unit to another because the apps layout was similar to a keygen .... norton thought it was a virus i hate av's when they do shit like that

ignore me i just found the low ram mode .... one other question when i try n save the cracked passwords to my usb ophcracks os tells me its readonly ? why ?

Im running ophcrack live cd on an old 2.4 ghz amd with 512mb of ram ophcrack quits when the tables are 86% loaded ??? i think its bc it runs out of memory is there a way to load the tables one by one ? i edited the launch.sh file as suggested for machines with less than 256mb of ram but its still behaving the same way any suggestions appreciated

no but if you get this working let me know ... there should be a special WPA site setup to crack keys from captures like the SETE screen saver ;0)

im not keen on backtrack they desperately need to include more drivers or need some kind of autoupdate routine now a full ubuntu backtrack would fookin rock !
