Mashed was really good. Kamaelia was really interesting. Got talking to one of the guys who created it. Really switched on.
Imagine a simple unix pipe:
ls -l | grep pantsu
this command pipes the results of a directory listing into another component, grep. This results in a list of all the files containing the string pantsu.
Now imagine doing this with video, http and a webcam.
transcode (you can actually pass an mencoder command here!) | stream video to this address | play video.
