Thanks!, it seems to be problem after problem though lol, BT4 final recognized my external western digital mybook HD, but now BT4 rc1 does not. Do I have to manually load the driver or something? Google did not show anything about this or maybe I googled the wrong search terms or something. edit:: sorry I am retarded today (mixture of alcohol and stress lol), had usb plugged into the wrong machine lol problem solved I will edit this or something later and let you know if Virtual machine is working

I am trying to do more SEO stuff and need to know if anyone has good advice as to get pages to the top for certain keywords.. here is what I have so far (maybe someone has things to add to the list that will help?) I am talking new 2010 tactics for all the major search engines, Google, Bing, Yahoo, ect.. -Blogs linking to your site and new daily content -Deep linking to other pages then the main site -Add social networking stuff -Add site so it is easily seen on mobile phones -Post comments on major sites with your link somewhere, but a real comment having to do with the topic & your sites content -No more then 10 keywords per a site -Do not put those keywords too may times on one page or google will consider it junk -Domain name can make a big affect like say domain name is Ilikecrabcakes.com if someone times in "I like crab cakes" the site is more likely to come up first during the search I could be wrong on some of this stuff this is just what I have found so far on research and wanted to know if anyone from the hak5 squad had any advice on SEO. I also found some good app's for SEO like IBP, which checks results on competitors websites, submits pages to search engines, generates reports for bossman, ect.. any advice? Thanks.

I understand, I have a dual core system so using BT4 32bit system will not use my pc's full potential, but still a 32 bit OS hosting a 32 bit VM of xp should work. I am using the BT4 final version not the beta one. @Cor, So you got Virutal machine to work within BT4? Maybe it is because I used synaptic package manager to install vbox. I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it by doing a apt-get install vbox, then when it was downloaded back on my machine again all my settings were still the same and the virtualmachines were still there and did not have to reinstall the xp .iso, so it makes me think that the settings were never deleted when I uninstalled it threw synaptic. @DigiP, I only did one of those commands "apt-get install, then apt-get update" I will try both again, also I read online this is another way to install that might work.. root@bt:~# wget -c http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/...3-Linux_x86.run root@bt:~# chmod +x Virtualbox-3.2.8-64453-Linux_x86.run root@bt:~# ./Virtualbox-3.2.8-64453-Linux_x86.run does that look right? I did a apt-get update, which some of the information is showing in the screen shot after I did that command. I have used both VMware and Vbox using Ubuntu before on the pc. From what I understand is you only need Virtualmachine hardware in BIOS if you are going to run a 64bit OS using ubuntu becuase I tried to install a win 7 64bit version and it did not work, but then used win xp 32bit and had no problems. That info I got from the ubuntu irc channel.

I have googled everywhere but can only find how to use windows VM to host BT4, what I am trying to do is use BT4 and virtual machine to host win XP for practice.. I know it is based on Ubuntu and found articles about non-compatiblity between the OS and virtual machine conflicts and that DKMS needs to be installed. (Thats the error I get when trying to run the .iso) when trying to install DKMS I get this error "Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... I forget the name at the moment but im thinking the word is compiled language? In school I remember there are 2 different kinds. One that goes line by line like python, which does not need to be compiled in order to execute, would that be correct? How many hits per a day/month traffic do you get? if you are only getting say 1 to 2000 unique vistors a week why not go with a free hosting service until you can afford the pay service again? I have seen some good free ones lately, and just made a thread about it in the questions forum on here recently (Be sure to check the hosting TOS). But if you are determined to learn how to create your own web hosting threw a VM, I can respect that. It is always good to learn something new.
