    HALO

If you are just playing HALO why do you need to open any ports at all? Are you planning to start a HALO server ?
  2. not to be nosy or violate Darren's privacy .....but what was the end diagnosis of his Multi-day malady?. It is more of being concerned for him and that he wont have to go through it again Even though im sure that the morphine was real good!
  3. some time ago when a smiliar question was raised Matt made the suggestion of Vyper antivirus and said that it was the bomb Might want to do some homework and see if that might be an option for you as well
  4. Darren, Hope that you feel better soon man. We are all behind you 1000% and if it is stones may the morphine gods be kind to you as you are passing those bad boys The community is here for you, ask and it shall be done Arise our fearless leader arise!
  5. once a DNS reserves an IP via DHCP, the DHCP server wont allocated the address again untill the DNS reservation has been released from the A Name and C name records so you should be OK with running the box via DHCP but to be on the safe side check with your netadmin and get his blessing before proceeding just so he doesn't come in a bitch at your world
  6. you used to be able to download the Hak5 Compiled rainbow tables via torrent but not sure that link still works you can try the ones from here http://rainbowtables.shmoo.com/
  7. you used to be able to download the Hak5 Compiled rainbow tables via torrent but not sure that link still works
  8. make sure that you also set your IP Address range in routing and remote access or the program will terminate the link because it wont have a local IP address to your remote location 1723 TCP is the port that you want to foward
  9. Hey all I have a friend and advid gamer who due to his location and work type is not allowed to access Ventrilo at his house. He asked me if there was any way to be able to connect to a vent server via a SSL Proxy or VPN tunnel but all my attempts at both were not able to connect. I tried setting him up with a remote desktop connection with vent installed and vent cant detect the remote sound card to initiate voice communications I attempted the Aditio way (That was balls of fun btw, getting adition to see vent as a service) and yet still nothing even with some SSL Proxy fowarding and it seems that vent wont allow connections that are proxied in any way whatsoever Does anyone have any idea how i can set up either a VPN/RDP or proxied connections that i can get this worked out Input is always welcome PS Yes i know that i spelled tunnel wrong in the title of this post
  10. I found NetworkMiner to be an exelent tool as well. Dareen covered it in a show not too long ago and did a damn good job at it. FYI NetworkMiner just released a new version and it seems to give out 2x as more info from a saved PCAP as before and a tad bit faster when it comes to LARGE files and network scanning
  11. He is still working on it, I for one will be happy when he gets it done because it will be a great utility
  12. this will more than likely lock the system until it can call home or disable the bios until authentication is met
  13. With that much liquid cooling, airflow isn't really an issue. i for one am very interested in how they did the video cards with cooling and SLI? All of the pumps and power supplies are in the base with the radiator so thats where all the airflow needs to be. They only had 3 fans in the whole thing! and 4 SSD's so the whole thing is virtualy silent as well Overall in 6 months it might be outdated but i'm sure that it will play every game to this point fantastically very very sweet setup
  14. Saw a client about 2 years ago who had his conversion server running basic and no it wasn't a emulator....had a old commodore64 system and said that it worked great for years and years. Fought me to give it up when the drive failed and did pay $750.00 for data recovery and restoration. All i could say was WOW! I also am very interested in what other goodies were loaded on that plane o/s...muhahaaha While searching for a clip from the TV show alias i found this in relevance :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4yABv0hbg8
  15. NoD32 Corp is a real latecomer to the AV game and as for my understanding uses the same kernel as SAV/SAP and is on par with other AV systems but never heard of it being used in a large scale network. i know that there desktop products is rather good I for one hated SAP but love the SAV interface for ease of roll out on large networks but i must say there detection of spy/malware sucks balls Vipre??? I will look into that myself....wonder if its cheaper than the Symantec products...Less memory you say.... always a good thing For the love of god,,,,Macafee......???... why?? they are the worst when it comes to large scale networks and there detection features for the simplest virus sucks and the crap that they throw in with the overall AV products takes over your system in worthless crap that lags the hell out of a 12g server

    RFID Goodness

My boys over at the NYC Reactor had this posted on one of the lists that i am a part of. http://rfidiot.org/ it has lots of good RFID stuff for those who are interested in doing some work in this area. Darren mentioned during the labs on Monday that in an upcoming epi there will be some RFID love so for those who aren't familiar with the tech this is a good place to start I have a few clients who use RFID in there lines of work and this site has been a great help when it came to doing research on new avenues of implementations for new projects Check it out
  17. sharpen the edges of those bad boys and take them out to the back for some lethal Frisbee action. or if you are into the non lethal things they make wonderful wind chimes if you string them together
  18. i prefer the adamantium route myself, if it works for wolverine it works for me On a serious route i was more wondering what tools besides the passive RFID that they were using to so called lock down the netbooks? was wondering if some of our aussie friends of Hak5 has gotten a hold of one of these 20,000 netbooks so we can take a peek?
  19. Saw this on Hack-a-day this morning regarding a so called unhackable netbook http://hackaday.com/2009/09/27/unhackable-...en-to-students/ IMHO there is no such thing as un-hackable anything but does anyone have any experience or an idea of what they are using to lock down the netbooks?

  21. One thing to also point out that if this is a laptop you must also pull the battery as well as unplug it before switching the CMOS jumper or the battery. Though accessing the CMOS on a laptop depending on brand can be a PITA.
  22. So i take it that this issue has been reported then? considering that each one of you has seen this posting
  23. good im glad to see that i am not the only one who posted about that shit today
  24. YAY guides .....We like guides and if i find the F*cker who sent this, i will mail bomb the living hell out of him and root kit his/her system back to the stone age Does posting here for the world to see equal reporting it to the admins for action? or do i need to send a PM to Matt, Darren or VaKo? I do believe that all the relevant information has been posted or at least all the info that i have regarding this unwanted and annoying pm that i get with regular consistency?
  25. i just find it hilarious that they would even think to try this on a hackers site. talk about sticking your head in a pride of lions mouths
