  1. Thank you all for the replies. I will test further and see if it is me or the pineapple. I might reflash just for the fun of it. Thanks, M. Lightning
  2. The firmware is the latest. I only have iDevices at my disposal at the moment to test it. It seems that the new iPhone and Lion seem to avoid getting snagged.
  3. I just got it so it has been made up to date right from the HakShop. Karma is on and makes a SSID that I named. It is just when I test it on device that doesn't have any known networks around, the device doesn't connect to the pineapple.
  4. For some reason when I have Karma active it doesn't capture any clients. Are there any common reasons for this? Here is my karma config file: # config file to use with the Karma'd version of hostapd # created by Robin Wood - robin@digininja.org - www.digininja.org interface=wlan0 driver=nl80211 ssid=internet channel=1 # both open and shared auth auth_algs=3 # no SSID cloaking ignore_broadcast_ssid=0 logger_syslog=-1 logger_stdout=-1 logger_syslog_level=2 logger_stdout_level=2 dump_file=/tmp/hostapd.dump ctrl_interface=/var/run/hostapd ctrl_interface_group=0 # 0 = accept unless in deny list macaddr_acl=0 # only used if you want to do filter by MAC address #accept_mac_file=/etc/hostapd/hostapd.accept deny_mac_file=/etc/hostapd/hostapd.deny # enable karma enable_karma=1 Thanks for any help. M.
  5. Thank you digip for all your help. You have given me lots of good stuff. I appreciate all the time you spent helping. I didn't get it working yet but you gave me a lot to work with. Thanks You.
  6. Digip thank you for all of your assistance and patients, it is much appreciated. Where are all the driver files stored? I deleted from the "lib/modules...../net/wireless"..and so forth, but it is still loading the rt2500 even after it is deleted. What is the deal with that?
  7. I tried the preceeding but it did not seem to work. What does the identifier have to with anything?
  8. I am positive that it needs the 2870sta driver set. That is what it came with on the CD that was provided. How do I go about this modprobe? Thanks
  9. Thank you for your responses. Backtrack 4 has the driver I need included. It is just that the card is defaulting to the wrong driver. Is there a way of forcing it to use a different driver? The 2870sta which it is supposed to use instead of the rt2500.
  10. it is working on the rt2500 drivers but not great. Is there a way I can make it use the rt2870sta drivers that are in backtrack 4?
  11. Tried blacklisting already. It didn't work.
  12. I am running BT4 Final but it now keeps using the rt2500 drivers. I don't need the WebUI it is the one that had the install script and the one I happened to get. But ifconfig -a sees ra0 as the interface now but not the right driver. Also iwconfig returns "ra0 Ralink STA".
  13. Thanks you for the replys. I am logged in as Root and I have tried sudo. I have also tried see if it is in if config. None of these are working. The command I am using is ./install.sh. I am trying to install the Ralink 2870sta drivers with the webGUI. The ./install.sh command is returning "Permission Denied".
  14. Here is my problem, I have a Alfa AWUS050NH wireless adapter. I do not want to use it for aircrack I just want to connect to the internet with it. The driver set it came with has a install script but when I try to run it it says "Permission Denied". How can this be? I am running BT4 as root. Whats the deal. Can someone give me very detail instructions on getting this thing to work. Thank you much.
  15. I am using Linux. My question is what does the settings for the server have to be and what are the setting for the client?
