  1. Watch an episode that IronGeek did on this. If you change the DNS of your site to 127.0.0.1 then every attack will be redirected towards the attacker. Also a good idea to keep people away until Hak5 reactivates the site with something else. Just another way of putting your page to sleep.
  2. He will use this mysterious pineapple to steal your credit card information.

    got a question

not necessarily because you can use wireless routers as long you configure them to hide the SSID, set them to PEAR and give it a password. You should be good to go. Now for the security part..... A webhosting will receive DoS attacks it just happens. To avoid this your networking needs to become redundant (double up the equipment) so when one gets over whelmed the other will pick up and never miss a beat.
  4. Why not Ken's jeep? :P Seriously nice work and very creative.
  5. Yes they can see add-on cards but will not see ESATA cards. No matter what you try. The Linux distro used to build ESX is not equipped to recognize ESATA cards.
  6. Simple..... Spoof the MAC Address of a local machine.
  7. Here is what I get when I run OPKG: root@OpenWrt:/tmp# opkg install haserl_0.9.24-1_mips.ipk opkg: invalid magic root@OpenWrt:/tmp# I'm sure its because its not a .opk package file instead its an .ipk package but where would I find the OPK files?
  8. here is what happens when I try the IPKG: root@OpenWrt:/# ls bin etc jffs lib proc root sys usr www dev home karma mnt rom sbin tmp var root@OpenWrt:/# cd tmp/ root@OpenWrt:/tmp# ls TZ opkg-1WXCpR script_name_list dhcp.leases opkg-lXXiMU script_option_list fstab opkg-lists state haserl_0.9.24-1_mips.ipk resolv.conf status.log lock resolv.conf.auto usr log run webif_0.3-4709_mips.ipk root@OpenWrt:/tmp# ip ipcalc.sh iptables root@OpenWrt:/tmp# ipkg install haserl_0.9.24-1_mips.ipk -ash: ipkg: not found root@OpenWrt:/tmp#
  9. Just keep on with the engineering degree because honestly a lot of IT professionals don't have CompScience Degrees. Just finish your school work and start from the bottom. Just because you get a Comp Science degree doesn't mean you will get a job in IT. Any degree will get your foot in the door as long as you have a love for IT.
  10. I will have to do it later on day because I don't have it with me.
  11. I use SCP to drop the files (haserl and webif) into the temp file. When I try to use ipkg I get an invalid response but when I use opkg I get a magic error.
  12. I'm using Jasager beta firmware right now and it works great but it won't let me install x-wrt. ipkg or opkg don't work on this firmware.
  13. Arch Linux is better than Gentoo but that's my opinion.
  14. My company was hit with a virus on April 1. 5 remote sites and 2 enterprise sites.

  16. Episode 3x09 tells of a password strength checker --> http://www.passwordmeter.com/
  17. WOW. Nice try but no dice. I'd rather burn off pandora.
  18. This was funny back in the days.
  19. Yeah this would definitely be against company policies. This post must be a joke because anyone with common sense and that works in IT knows that this would be stupid.
  20. Nice post. I'm going to have to check this out. <half baked> "Ever seen the back of a 5 dollar bill" "Ever seen the back of a 5 dollar bill on i-Dose".
  21. If this is for a T1 line then you are only using one of those IPs to set up the connection and then you set up DHCP to assign IP to the other PCs.
  22. Maybe because that is considered child pornography and besides who would want to see a 16 years old girl like that?
