CyberSpike
Sure.. leave us Gnome users out in the cold.
uber_tom
I had major problems with ktorrent, it was slow and awkward. Gnome users can use kapps if they install the kdelibs.
Sparda
Sure.. leave us Gnome users out in the cold. Why use uTorrent when you can use Azureus?
jollyrancher82
Sure.. leave us Gnome users out in the cold. Why use uTorrent when you can use Azureus? Because Azureus is a resource hogging Java application.
VaKo
Despite that its still better than most of the competition.
fir3maze
Thats somthing I don't get, maybe because I'm a little n00bz0r, but why is Azureus Java, I see no evidence of the java controls...
VaKo
The java allows it to work on multiple OS's, ie windows, osx & *nix without major revisions to the core code. Or so I'm lead to believe, I'm no programmer.
fir3maze
Ah, so Joe Bloggs would'nt notice the java if he were to just be using Windows?
Sparda
Ah, so Joe Bloggs would'nt notice the java if he were to just be using Windows? He would if he tried to run Azureus with out the JRE installed.
cooper
You can program Java to use the native widgets of the current platform. The look of the application will be indistinguishable from any other application on the system. Windows users will see what they consider to be a Windows application. Mac users will see a cocoa application if I'm not mistaken. Linux users will see a GTK application. But underneath it's all still nothing but Java.
