    Thinkpads are good, neat laptops. Most run linux well, however you may like to avoid ones with Nvidia chips. Depending on what job in pentesting you're doing, youd probably swap out say the Wireless NIC for an Atheros :) Good Luck :)

    Crepsidro, You know that is just a rumour said by one person. As sebkinne has said elsewhere, The WiFi Pineapple project is a cat and mouse game, This could very well be something to do with a mobile device, like an Android device, not the pineapple.

    I seriously doubt it is Android based, I know sebkinne has been doing lots of Kernel work for the Pineapple 'flavour' of OpenWRT

    FYI; Shutdown = 'halt' Disable wifi = 'ifconfig wlan0 down' Enable WiFi = 'wifi' Without quote ofcourse, the wifi command confuses some people as its not just a ifconfig wlan0 up :)

    Double check you have java installed, then make sure java is in your PATH, see here

    no, the UI is located at 172.16.42.1 SSH into the device, and post the ASCII art you see.

    Look at the guide in the wiki, It may help you. I'm sorry to say this, but please consider dual booting with linux for your pineapple, it makes everything so much easier.

    You do realise it may take atleast a few hours for someone to reply. The community here is a forum, not a 24/7 helpline. If you are able to just whiz up random open AP names and they connect, then karma is operating correctly.

    Yes, it could... Try to SSH into your pineapple after you have done the WP4.sh script, then execute ping -c 3 google.com If you get replys, your online :)

    Seems like a stupid question, but are you sure 192.168.1.1 is actually the router? and not 2.x?

    Correct hfam. Anker is an amazing brand, make sure you get the Astro 3 or 'Anker Pro' as it now seems to be called. Not the 3E.
