  1. I am looking for an unlocked gsm phone. I like android phones. I need gorilla glass and decent Battery life. 3g or 4g would be cool too. Share your phones.
  2. Great topic I have messed with it. I don't know if it works in real time. Probably after the data has been captured, Best I can come up with.
  3. I did not see any thing about this. I cant use my produduction switch to do this. I want to see if a switch will lock the port if you use MAC changer. I was just going through notes about port security. Sticky is a thing where the switch grabs one mac address when the device is turned on or pluged in. If another device is plugged in say a wireless access point switch laptop or another device it locks the port. Some wireless access points let you change the mac address on them anyway. Easy if you have multiple switches so you dont have to type each mac address to the desired port. The only thing is the mac address needs to be known. Bring your own laptop from home or a mini access point so you can use a your phone to play games. Use your own setting to get around policys. I will keep trying but cisco's web site was no help. Interesting at least.
  4. too manys wifi around me wtf no spell check oh well better luck next time.
  5. I like the hak tip about net cat. I wonder if they can be used to determine what version of windows I am running. I will have to test it out. Again I mention the xpocalypse is comming. If you are required to run the latest and greatest os with all the current updates this might be able to be used. I wonder if companies and others that require the transfer of secure personal data to be sent over the internet do this. I would like to check out metasploit which I have been dragging my feet on. There is a couple of other things I want to fool around with; I saw a video about this. Using set in Kali to do things. Play with WPA TKIP on my home router. Yes I am a little behind I took a picture of a drone and a pineapple from new years. We have a new years bash; they drop a pineapple not the one you are thinking of. If I knew about the drone I could of had a little fun at work. Too manys other wifi signals around me plus I was too busy at work. I did write down my fios config using the ethernet connection from the ONT to the switch and how I made it work and the commands for the switch. Basic routing between between Vlans no router or linux box on a stick with sub interfaces. I will make a graphic to show how I did this. I even still have all the functions of the set top box. Lastly people I know call me a computer geinus or other thing they need to stop. I am a regular computer guy like anyone else.
  6. All my headaches are gone. The whole problem was my static I ordered 5 static ip's they were not set up right on the service providers end. The action tech mi424 will not do 5 static ip addresses. My solution is use vlan 1 ports 1-6 on my switch. plug the ethernet cable from the ont fiber optic box thing on the wall. use the small linksys routers I had from the previous setup. Put the ip addresses they gave me into each router. plug the wan port from each router into vlan one. Plug one lan port from each router to vlan 2 3 4. Leaving one ip for the set top box and their secure wifi. Since they give one ethernet cable and 5 ip address'es the switch thing in vlan 1 will work. I could also take a box with linux on it and trunk 802.1q aka linux box on a stick with sub interfaces. Even use a cisco box router on a stick with sub interfaces. Using the router and vlans was they did it before router or linux box on a stick. The cisco sf300-24 is great for the money switch. Reasearch Subinterfaces on routers trunking 802.1q. Might as well check into subinterfaces and vlans on linux. I think it just needs the correct kernel module. I will drink a cigar city beer now to celebrate or some other tasty beverage. p.s The drone or flying object thing for the pineapple coutd be cool.
  7. I am fooling around here are the pictures. I cant always be serious. Being a dork or as my mother says being that should be are or am. Enough here goes I was fooling with my cheap digital camera this is what I came up with. This has no computer or hacking value what so ever
  8. Good job foxtrot way to wack the nail on the head.
  9. Having an open port could red flag a pci-dss test. Now for my solution I have a layer 3 switch from cisco. Setup vlans plug it into the ethernet port on the ont. Test subnet with nmap. You might be able to use a switch and your own routers. I for each subnet also. I guess the staus up date is I dont like the action tec router. I have ethernet on the ONT. I will setup my own switch and routers if need be. I have a coulple of wrt54g's ready to go and the ddwrt firmware just in case. The layer 3 switch and nat should rock out. Then I can get back to the real world. Studying for my ccent so I can kick ass on it. Playing music etc.
  10. I guess I am stuck using a netbook or laptop. There is no way I can get something that can get ethernet wifi and have a usb port to hook an rs232 usb adapter to. The other problem is interfacing with it lcd screen with a keypad or touch screen. A terminal emulator is not a problem as a ssh client and Tftp client. there lots of linux operating systems that will do this. size is an issue too to do this it needs to be small enough to look like something that will not gather attention. I guess someone will figure this out and it will be on ebay. Oh well.
  11. These are all single board computers.Anyone use one. I know the pineapple is the pi. Any great applications for these. Useful for what ever it is we do here again with wifi and hacking. Any thoughts
  12. I was reading a newspaper a friend was sitting near by. Accused me of shoulder surfing and says I know your father.
  13. when searching for info on what the pineapple does the firmware etc. I found some people out there with opinions of the pineapple. Critics say it is a toy with no value. They also said something about the message it teaches young people. What could happen if it gets in the wrong hands. If someone wants to get a hold of a tool like this for wrong doing they will. I think kids will learn about stuff like this. They teach kids how to program in middle school and highschool. It also sets a bad message about the use of open source. I think all of this is crap. The critics work for companies that support and deal with software that does some of the same things. Again all crap
  14. These things I did some are normal and some are way out there. Including things I learned. The xpocalypse is coming in April. RIP windows xp. I cant wait for 802.11 ac super fast wifi faster than 802.11 n. It also is not in the 2.4 ghz range but 5ghz. Trying to get people to follow the ms crap file structure my documents etc is a pain. If they do it makes backup and migration super easy. Just copy those folders to a flash drive and copy them to the new pc. Making a network attached storage box seems like a good idea. Audacity and sooper looper are awesome. I mean you can record from anything including things like Youtube. Sooper looper creates loops there is some great music and audio apps for various Linux distros. The infamous pineapple drop on new years eve where I work. Not the pineapple you are thinking of. No computer or beer pump problems. Or c02 line problems. Only plumbing problems which does not belong on this site The disorderly drunks were at a minimum. It is cool they drop a huge pineapple. Now for some of the worst Fios setup. The Actiontec is a pain to work with. I am going to take the Ethernet cable from the ont and go directly into a switch. Use the routers I had setup before. A cisco catalyst 2960 will do some layer 3 if it has the lanbase os12.2.55se os. But static routes only. Can setup dhcp on them. There is also a cisco business series switch that will do layer 3 switching. I will check this one out. Switches should be faster than routers. I learned I need a direct in box (di box) to match inputs so I can plug a guitar or what ever into my pc. That seems to be about it.
  15. Should of mentioned I am going to by pass on verizons router on fios. I want to use my own routers so I can easily support my own equipment. Their actiontec router is very difficult to setup 5 static ip addresses with.
  16. Boxes of copper clad alluminum wire are out there. They do not meet any category standard. (5,5e,6) What is worse they generate a lot of heat. Which is bad for phones and poe. Something else if you mix two metals together they tend to corode or oxidize. Worked on boats and fishing gear. I worked in a hardware store for 15 years and worked on a few houses. Helping friends try to sell house before the market died. Having o to do some rewiring not fun. Alluminum wire is brittle and generates heat. It is known to catch on fire. I don't think it can be ratted as cmr or cmp for that matter. The solution is keep doing what you guys do with WIFI and the Pineapple. This will help people learn how wifi works. Bandwidth is getting less expensive so fiber to the desktop with an ethernet tranceiver is an option or network card with fiber instead . Check out 802.11ac The most important do not listen to the critics of the wifi pineapple. Lets get good beer to where people live. Rock out.
  17. I found something that will work. Plug from the ont directly to the cisco switch. Use my own routers put open wrt on them call it a day.
  18. Hey I am having no luck with the actiontec. What I did, plugged the ethernet cable fron the ont into my laptop. Next I put the static ip in my laptop. Went through the walled garden setup. I tested it out downloaded kali in about 5 minutes. My plan of action is to uplug the ethernet cable next see if I have tv. If the fios tv stil works I will buy an CISCO857-K9-RF isr router supports 802.1q trunking. Use a 2960 switch to make seperate vlans for each wan ip address. Should be able to use all 5 ip addresses segmented by vlans. The trunking and dot1q is for another post. Give all 5 subinterfaces an ip address. It might take some research and doing but I think I will work. The thing is I dont need to route between vlans I just need to fire data to the internet. Networking and qrtag; has anyone used redit for networking for events. Last is an idea Qrtags link to a youtube page if you have videos you want to share. For videos youtube tends to be more universal for phones and tablets. Also if you have a photobook find a way to link to that. They are great marketing tools. please share your thoughts.
  19. The first install date was rescheduled comcast would not release the number. They should it has something to do with FCC rules something about local number portability. This is only supposed to take one day We will try again for Friday. As for setting everything else up I will put their modem in bridge mode. Put the IP information in my routers. Test every thing for connectivity. If all goes well Drink a Sam Adams Boston Lager, Sierra Nevada pale ale, or a Palm. One of those draft beers should still be in stock.
  20. My first attempt will be to setup the modem/router in bridging mode on the 5 ip addresses and use the current routers. Next attempt play with some cables try a cross over. Last use a managed switch and 5 VLANS. I should be able to figure this out.
  21. I was looking for open firmware for routers. Just for fun I put pineapple in. We will leave it at that. There are some goofy and mean people on the net. Critical of the pineapple they are computer columnists with nothing better to do then scare people. I am going to try open wrt to see what it can do. The post about lawyer up shut your mouth is cool. Why do businesses have free WIFI? The same reason they have live music, sports on TV. To get people to spend money. Buy coffee, beer and wine at happy hour, food and mixed drinks while listening to live music. Make business travelers feel good at their hotel. Did I miss any reasons for businesses to provide WIFI. Lots of businesses lock down WIFI so only Customers can use it. Businesses should put a page at the into to their wifi to tell people what wifi they are on to cover their own ass. For fun people crack the Wep wps on some. Lots of them use phone numbers and addresses as wep and wpa keys. Local city govt provide WIFI ours is locked down with a proxy. Most cable companies provide free WIFI in their service area some even offer it to other companies customers. if needed find a friend on a cable high speed internet set up a sub account for you. Use the user name and password and you are on. Thanks for putting up with the long post.
