Now that we have stability, we wanted to tackle speed, especially in regards to the webinterface, something needed to be done. We are now proud to present the WiFi Pineapple MKV Firmware 1.4.0! 2. I'm glad it turned out the be a power issue. As to why this is an issue: The WiFi Pineapple MKV requires at least 5V 1A to operate. I would even suggest 5V 2A though for anything that requires load. A lot of USB ports, especially on laptops, are not capable of giving more than 500mAh at 5V. This may simply not be enough to drive the WiFi Pineapple MKV. Please see the FAQ (power, battery) for more details. It could also be the length of the cable. My USB to M barrel is 10cm long and works fine on most machines. 2m might be a little long.. Note however that this isn't the WiFI Pineapple's fault. Best Regards, Sebkinne
  3. We aren't trying to be Microsoft. We are just not ready with the HDK yet. Personally, I am the software guy - I have very little to do with the Hardware, so I cannot tell you much. However, we have planned to release an HDK / modules for the WiFi Pineapple MKV by / around Defcon. We are a tiny team and are simply not done with the development of the hardware additions yet. I'll see if I can get the appropriate people for details in here though. Best Regards, Sebkinne
  4. There will be an update regarding the HDK close to this year's defcon! Best Regards, Sebkinne
  5. There will be an update regarding the HDK close to this year's defcon! Best Regards, Sebkinne
  6. This seems like and issue with the actual infusion. Please report it in the appropriate support thread in the infusions forums. Best regards, Sebkinne
  7. Correct, sorry, I thought this is what you meant. We should make this more clear in the future. Best Regards, Sebkinne
  8. The reason the upgrade.bin files do not work is because you didn't follow the instructions properly. You are only able to use the EXACT file we supply in the instructions. Any other file (even if the version is the same one) will not work. Best Regards, Sebkinne
  9. You want a SMA Male to RP-SMA Female Adapter. Or an antenna with a male SMA end to screw into the Pineapple. Best regards, Sebkinne
  10. Just search for an rp-sma to sma converter. Otherwise, search for antennas with SMA connectors built in. Best regards, Sebkinne
  11. As far as I know, this is not a genuine Alfa (as I haven't been able to find it on their product pages). It looks like one, but many have copied ALFA's design. Just something to keep in mind! Regarding it working on the WiFi Pineapple MKV, this depends on the actual chipset used in the device. I'd you can find out what it is, I'll be able to tell you. Please keep in mind, these devices all look very similar and often use completely different chipsets. Best regards, Sebkinne
  12. Hey everyone, I took the liberty to split this topic from the Pineapple AP is Incredibly Slow/Inconsistent thread, as it the above posts are not on topic. Best Regards, Sebkinne
  13. Could you please try doing a clean flash of the WiFi Pineapple MKV? To see how to do this, please take a look at the "Unbricking a bricked WiFi Pineapple MKV" instructions found at https://wifipinrapple.com/?flashing I'd this does not resolve your issues, please contact shop@hak5.org. Best regards, Sebkinne
  14. As stated above, this isn't possible unless they are connected to your pineapple. Also please note that if you use the Pineapple for this, you should have permission from your friends before you mess with them. Best regards, Sebkinne
  15. The handler.php hasn't been updated. I'll make sure to make that automatic when packaging an infusion using bartender. Best Regards, Sebkinne
  16. You can absolutely grab an adapter for rp-sma to sma. Best regards, Sebkinne
  17. Try formatting it again through the webinterface. Otherwise format it using a computer. Formatting it fat/ext4 will work. Best regards, Sebkinne
  18. Pull the power of your Pineapple, plug it back in and wait for the led pattern to appear again. Then go to http://172.16.42.1:1471/ and follow the instructions again. The reason you are seeing "passwords do not match" is probably because you have something else behind the URL. The reason you cannot ping 172.16.46.46 is because it is not a valid IP address for the Pineapple. Best regards, Sebkinne
  19. I haven't watched yet, but this url won't let you down.
  20. Execute "wifi" to bring it back up. If there are issues you'll be notified. Best regards, Sebkinne
  21. It's not macchanger's fault at all, it simply doesn't work well with openwrt. It's also not ifconfig's fault, as it tries to bring up the device. Openwrt then refuses to bring up the interface as the Mac addresses are not matching. On the Pineapple, changing your Mac is simply a little different. Best regards, Sebkinne
  22. If you want to track the progress of implementation, feel free to create a suggestion in the bug tracker. Best regards, Sebkinne
  23. jjd uses the file I mentioned above to change your Mac. Macchanger does it in a way that openwrt doesn't like and therefore fails to bring up the interface. Best regards, Sebkinne
  24. Using macchanger breaks the way the interface works. The Mac needs to be changed in /etc/config/wireless. We will add this soon. Best regards, Sebkinne
