  1. Hak5 3D chatroom? VIRTUAL HAKHOUSE THAT HAKSTALKERS CAN VISIT!>!??!@?#!?@
  2. Thanks for the help, I've left work for now and will get back to you tomorrow when I can check the labs.
  3. [Doctorly voice] "Mr. Kitteh, you look pretty comfortabuhls. But you know what might improve your nap even more?" [snapping neck sound, followed by purring] "Better, right?" Shanks very much Doctuh. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Okay, I'm done..., I don't want to get banned.
  4. Hero of Sparta MotionX Poker SimCity Fieldrunners Rolando Katamari Trace and Dropship seem to be missing. In fact, I only recognized Topple from that list. -------------------------- EDIT: Wow, free only. Okay, I can fix that. Aurora Feint Trace Space Monkey S.Deadbeef Tris (no longer available)
  5. I've heard similar reports on forums. It was a student that complained. I tried a random drive I found in the store room and it also didn't work, so I'm not sure on the specifics. I'll look into this. Thanks.
  6. I tried a variety of things on from other forums, but none of them worked. We have a labful of openSUSE 10.2 boxes that won't auto mount USB flash drives. It says usb-storage is active, but the drive doesn't show up when I probe it. Any suggestions. Thanks.
  7. I use Mail.app, it can't thread my mobile me emails, which results in a very messy inbox.
  8. Jealous, my mom (and dad for that matter), have trouble understanding web mail, let alone some sort of newfangled email client.
  9. They have something similar, I think. There are many colleges that use gmail has a front end (or back end, whatever) for their email. Concordia in St. Paul, Minnesota, for example, does this. I don't see why it couldn't be adapted to a business.
  10. Ew. Ew. Ew. Ew. That phone is like a dozen years old!, and games are played in portrait!
  11. I don't think anyone actually really likes Outlook..., or Lotus Notes..., In Snow Leopard, OSX Mail will have full 100% exchange support, so you could look forward to that, perhaps.
  12. Would many agree that one usually starts at entry level and moves up?
  13. Check the jailbreak catalog. Although I'm still unsure what you mean by security tools. If it's what I'm thinking of, Netbook or Windows Mobile handset might almost work better. I don't really have enough details from you.
  14. I'm not sure what "security tools" you're talking about. It's worth noting that almost every app will run better on a second generation iPod Touch than an iPhone 3G. The processor is rumoured to be over 100MHz faster.
  15. No. Developers can specifiy if they want it to work only on one platform. There are some that work only in the 3G for example. Many apps that use microphones will not work, as they haven't been updated to reflect the changes to Apple's new in ear headphones. Location specific apps like Loopt also do not work. Of course, anything that requires the phone wouldn't work. You could buy some black generic headphones with a headset and use that. This way, you wouldn't have to pull it out. Everyone will think you're talking to yourself, which in turn will keep the baddies away. If you're not on AT&T already, and are more or less pleased with your current carrier, there is no reason to switch. Hope that helps.
  16. They have some. You can get one if you make a sizeable donation. I got one, slightly chipped, but it's great. The Hak5 crew only has a few left if Darren was telling the truth.
  17. I'm a systems admin for the university I go to. I also teach one section of UNIX. I do pretty basic support for professors and students, but the job is long term and I'm pretty sure they're working towards getting me working with the more complex stuff within six months. I am just a regular computer science sophomore. So, I'm not particularly working toward this, but the experience doesn't hurt.
  18. This is a cute thread..., "hakpack" makes me smile. MacBook + Charger iPhone 3G iPhone Charger + Cable (3G empties my battery faster than Kirstie Alley empties an Old Country Buffet) Notebook An iPhone Development book Flash Drive A vi cheat sheet Headphones I have a feeling that you're going to get something similar to this from everyone.
  19. Does powershell have forking and time out capability? Where can I figure out this stuff? My boss made a bet with me that I couldn't give him a answer either by the end of the night. My GoogleFu results are inconclusive. Thanks for the help!
  20. http://juicereceiver.sourceforge.net/screenshots/index.php I guess you'll have to use something else then, unless someone else wants to help you set up that nonsense I mentioned earlier.
  21. It's gorgeous in Vista with all that glass. I bet it looks better in Windows 7. I DON'T like the integrated address bar/search bar. I frequently use links like cse/mail or cse/~myclassname while on the school network, and it accepts it as a search string rather than a link. It's pretty quick too. Until it comes out for Mac, I think I'll stick with Safari.
  22. Open the iTunes Store, scroll to the bottom and select "USA" from the "My Store" drop down. Hope that helps. If it doesn't work, you'll have to some crazy tunneling/proxy or something, I dunno.
  23. Here's what happened: When she bought her computer, she looked to save money wherever possible, one way was OPTING TO REMOVE WINDOWS. She must have known what she was doing. Either way, she didn't seek any help nor even think about offering to buy windows for what, $99 for home basic? Almost all colleges have on campus computers she could have used, this was not worth dropping out of college for. If it was such a problem, why didn't she speak with her professors?, why didn't she ask other students?, why did she wait until she failed all her classes to get a copy of Windows.? It's clear she barely tried to do anything to get this computer working. I bet she looked around, didn't see "Microsoft Word" and gave up with that. As for internet? Rather than calling verizon, she just put the disc and when "setup.exe" didn't work, she gave up on that too. What I see is a dumb bitch who failed out of college because she's dumb (wanting to party, not to homework/study, skipping classes), not because of her computer and is looking for a convenient excuse to get out of it. But these are all wild accusations.
  24. Ooo everyone signed your cast photo. I must have been unlucky, or perhaps the other signatures are worth more <_< Either way, I really appreciated my donation package anyway!
