  1. I use Kaspersky at home, and NOD32 at all of our clients. We have never had a virus slip through NOD32 at any of our clients. If you decide to go with NOD32, I can hook you up with a volume discount. Just shoot me a PM if you're interested.
  2. The AP is going to be set up in the Bahamas, so I'm not sure if they have any rules related to how many dBi you can put through, or if they follow British laws, but I'll check with my client. I think I might just go ahead and order a PowerStation 5 AP and stick it on the roof of one of the buildings, but I'll test it in the states first before I fly down and install it.
  3. My broadcast area is the coast, and buildings surrounding the AP, so if the panel antenna only handles the beach, that is fine since they already have an AP that covers the 4 villas. It's just so that guests can browse the web on the beach using their own computers, but they don't own the beach, so i can't stick a repeater or anything on the beach. The Powerstation APs look pretty promising, but I'm curious if line of sight may be an issue, which i'm hoping it isn't. Getting it higher off the ground isn't much of a problem, but i would rather keep it closer to the rooftop in case it needs servicing.
  4. I have a client that wants to broadcast wifi on a beach that is a bit under a mile away. He said that there are some trees blocking the line of sight to the beach, so the antenna is going to be at least two stories off the ground. My plan was to order a 15dBi omnidirectional antenna, hook it up to an amplifier, and then connect it to a wireless access point. My question is will I even need an amplifier, and if so, how much power would I need to put through it. Do you know of any resources or formulas used to calculate how much antenna or power i need? Here are some links to the equipment I was planning to get Alfa 2000Mw radio amplifier: http://www.amazon.com/Alfa-Outdoor-802-11b...r/dp/B002R1FXU2 15dBi Outdoor Omni antenna: http://www.fab-corp.com/product.php?produc...=250&page=1 Here is a map of the area where it will be installed. http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?source=s_q&...c19a203848c075a

    copy a taxi card

I'm pretty sure it's been done, and no billionaires have been made in the process. http://www.makershed.com/ProductDetails.as...ductCode=MKAD10
  6. I just grab a sheet of paper and draw it, or I'll build a GUI in visual studio that does nothing. I heard that you could also use Visio to build a GUI, but I haven't tried it personally. Regardless of what OS you're building your GUI for, it's best to sketch it out on paper so you don't forget any details.
  7. If you want AV, get NOD32. It's 40 bucks for a one year subscription, and it does antivirus, anti spyware, and anti malware, whitout bloat, nagging, and false positives. It just runs in the background and doesnt pop up unless you get something. All of my clients that use it never have to call me up about getting any viruses, so if you're too lazy to be cautious on the internet, it's something to try out.

    whats this

was it on one of those shareware game discs? there were some cool games on some of those discs back in the day, but i doubt i'll ever find them again
  9. good riddance. i'm tired of that shit popping up asking me if i want to use windows media player. it's a fucking nuisance and i won't miss it
  10. That's what I did. i put a switch in to swap between the two power sources. If i flick it fast enough, it doesn't even turn off on me. What i did was keep all the ground wires connected, then i had a switch that had battery on the left, wall wart on the right, and the center pin was to the 5v line on the board.

  12. my first pc was one that my cousin gave me when i was like 8. it was running Norton Commander, and had prince of persia and commander keen on it.
  13. just extract the contents of the package, and move the files over manually. I did that with my custom build of airodump-ng and it worked out fine. You won't get the message complaining that you're out of space. alternatively, you could solder in an SD card and use that as swap space, partition it for storage, or whatever. EDIT: also, you can use 'df -h' in the command line without quotes to show how much storage space you have.
  14. Provided that you get permission, I wouldn't do this to all websites, but just the ones that they shouldn't be on, such as facebook, twitter, myspace, etc. I would get fucking pissed if I was trying to work, and all the sites I was using for work was switched over to something else.
  15. Get a 3g card and leave the network alone. It's not your network, so don't fuck with it.
  16. The guy porting aircrack to psp (Gaby or something) is wasting his time. I was going to port airodump-ng over to psp, but after reading the datasheet for the Marvell wireless chip used in the psp, I came to a conclusion that the chip does not support monitor mode, and thus won't work with airodump-ng. Don't expect airodump-ng on psp to take off. pspssh or the web browser accessing another device is the only way we'll be able to perform any packet injection/sniffing.
  17. i just use a high anonymity proxy server in the netherlands. you can even download stuff through rapidshare on it. here's a list: http://www.atomintersoft.com/free_socks5_proxy_list

    Melty Blood

i've been playing it since the re-act days. somebody made an network capability patch for re-act, but AC probably has a better one. I play by plugging a ps2 or ps3 controller into my pc. works like a charm, and the flat buttons make it easier to do the tougher combos.

    Broken 360

+1. The ps3's .02 percent failure rate is way better than the 360's 33 percent failure rate. and the 360 can't even cure diseases.
  20. if the bios doesn't see the drive, then check the jumper settings. if that fails, then the board on the drive is dead. you can swap it out if you can find the same drive. if the drive isn't clicking or making weird noises, this will bring it back to life if it can be seen by the bios, you can try using spinrite http://www.grc.com/intro.htm or PTDD http://www.ptdd.com/ to bring it back to life. i would recommend spinrite because it does a much better job at fixing drives. ptdd is more of a partition recovery tool, whereas spinrite does much more, and can even tell you if your drive cable is bad.
  21. The reason the guy inched closer to you is because in arabic culture, that's what they do in conversation. Americans usually keep some distance between eachother, but in arabic culture, it's the opposite. They feel more comfortable when they are closer to people when they're talking to them. That's all that it was. As for all four of them getting out of the car, It might have been their way of saying "we've got nothing to hide", but it's only a guess. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Etiquette_in_...ts_of_etiquette
  22. I know that they have devices that will reset the cartridges to fool the printer into thinking it's full. My brother has one for an epson printer, but I think they make them for others too. If they have one for your printer, you can just reflash the cartridge when it's empty, and fool the printer.
  23. I made a similar program, but it runs as a background process. Every half hour, it plays the song. It doesn't start playing the song right when you start the program, so you can be very stealthy about it.
  24. If you can find some empty color toners or something, it might pass the sensor check and let you print out your b/w documents. Otherwise, just get the color toners, or print out your documents at the library if you're tight on cash. Printers are finicky. Sometimes you can get by with empty cartridges, other times you have to have it full, and some sensors can be fooled with tape. You just have to do a bit of research and experimentation sometimes.
