Boy Scouts MPAA Merit Badge

emm... its not really a merit badge, its an activity patch. Activity patches are given out for attending certain events or other troop activities. My experiences in scouting suggests that the LA area council put out a list of requirement for the local troops and scouts complete in order to receive the patch. Boy Scouts is a non profit organization and wont turn away money, So I don't really blame the council for doing that, and you shouldn't really pirate movies anyway.

I wonder what some of the requirements are for obtaining the 'activity patch'. (I don't remember those. I was in the scouts for about two months way back but I got kicked out for messing with fire a bit-too much.)

1. Turn in 10 of your movie-pirating friends.

2. Turn in 20 music-pirating friends.

Wow, when I was in the scouts we lit pretty much everything that didn't move (and somethings that did) on fire. Picnic tables, Clay pigeons, each other... some fellow scouts even smoked rope, and, no, thats not some new drug, literally rope, they claimed to get high off it. armadaender I think you were just in the wrong troop.

My troop consisted of my god-loving neighbor (I have nothing against religion, he was just one of those over-the-top nuts) and a few other kids that had no friends outside of eachother. Frankly, when I was with them I felt like the outcast because I've never spoken to any of them in my life nor could I relate to any of them on any level. They were all really into the scout thing, wanting to be eagle scouts and whatnot. They would make wicker baskets using dead brush, I'd take that brush and build a blair-witch style character and lit it on fire.

Wrong troop? Possibly, but if I happened to end up with a group like yours, I probably would have 3rd degree burns all over and unable to go outside b/c of the sun.

we used to throw firecrackers into our bonfires. see who comes out with the fewest burns at the end of the night.
