mantis32 Posted March 4, 2014 Share Posted March 4, 2014 Just got my device today. Popped card in first, turned on, waited, plugged in ethernet, tried to hit URL, no page loads, pings fine. Solid Green, blinking yellow. Doesn't get past that. Tried to unplug unit and try again after a few hours. still no results. Anyone else experience the same? I'd check your SD card and make sure the files are on there... Maybe use a different SD card with the proper files. Basically yes, this has been asked before and answered. The unit is new out of the box, I would want to assume the files are on it and have the proper files. Took a look at the video...no help as their newly unboxed unit worked right out of the box w/out the need to troubleshoot a new item. thesugarat Posted March 4, 2014 Share Posted March 4, 2014 I understand your concern, but you didn't buy a toaster with one simple function. There may be several different reasons why it didn't work right out of the box. Some of them on Hak5's end, some during transport, some on your end. We'll never know for sure. Others have experienced this and I've given you a possible way to fix it yourself. But that's all your choice. Contact the Hakshop for a replacement if you're not willing to go that extra mile. I admit, it seems like most of us have extra crap around the house from other projects to use and that might not be the case for you. Either way, I'm done here. It may be a bit of a pain to go though the unbricking process, but it is a worth while exercise if it gets you up and running within 30 minutes rather than wait for reshipping. Good luck. I think the term has been so misused over the years that it typically refers to "can't get in through traditional means" Between the simple serial access and bootloader recovery dip switch, nothing short of a blown cap or fuse is going to take the ol' pineapple down for long. My "bricking" definition comes from the good old days of flashing linux to the compaq iPaq. There was no undo! If you borked it, it was literally a brick.
