pdb1977 Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Very weird. Could be the firmware on the sd card is corrupt. Try downloading the latest firmware from here https://wifipineapple.com/?downloads and the flashing instruction here: https://wifipineapple.com/?flashing Hope that helps.... pabo2uk Quote

Tried 2 different versions of the sd firmware just to be sure the that the newest firmware wasn't corrupt by download. I make it all the way past the led pattern for successful upgrade and past setting my password. BUT when I Log in I have no options except the log out button. Sebkinne Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Firmware isn't corrupt if you get this. Looks like you have no javascript enabled. Try using firebug / chrome developer console to check the output. And make sure JS is on. Quote
JackChitt Posted December 27, 2013 Author Posted December 27, 2013 (edited) No script is off and allows globally. I tried it on Chrome, IE, Firefox and 2 other PCs before posting this. Even killed Ad Block Plus before attempting to log in. All dp switched are up and sd card is still inserted. Don't know if that would affect anything if I removed it. Is it possible my device is defective? The green led is lit and the blue one is too but flashing every so often. Nothing like the boot up flash. I did catch this when logging in with the developers console active. Sebkinne Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Your pineapple seems to be working fine. If you get that far, it's not the pineapple's fault but the client's. Don't try IE, we don't and won't ever support it. I suggest disabling ALL chrome extensions, quitting your browser, opening an incognito tab and connecting to http://172.16.42.1:1471. As far as I can see, something is interfering with the javascript. Try loading the the following file directly though. If it loads it's really not the Pineapple. http://172.16.42.1:1471/includes/js/functions.js Best Regards, Sebkinne Quote
JackChitt Posted December 27, 2013 Author Posted December 27, 2013 The only thing the 3 Pcs have in common that I have tried it on is the AV. Bitdefender interferes with every other program I run so i'm going to uninstall it and try again. If that fails, I will try linux. If that fails, I'm boxing the damn thing up and sending it back. I have been happy with my MK3 for some time now and I will continue being happy with it. Quote
.k. Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 im using bitdefender too but i dont have this problems. Quote

No idea why without seeing it properly. Quote

No idea why without seeing it properly. It would not load this page. Logged in or out "http://172.16.42.1:1...js/functions.js". It wouldn't work on Kali linux, nor a VM with a fresh install of Windows 7 64 connecting via wireless. If there is any screen shots or tools you would like me to run and send a report, I will be more than happy to do so. I did uninstall Bitdefender and had the same results. I also tried it on a friends laptop and my gfs tablet and 2 other PCs I own. I am really thinking it is an issue with the pineapple but I am open to any resolution given before I start the return/ exchange process. Quote

Foxtrot Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 I had this problem for a day or so, i got annoyed with it and left it, came back a few days forgetting it and it worked, possibly a cache problem? Quote

Sebkinne Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 I can only repeat that if you have flashed the firmware successfully AND you get to the change password screen and you change your password AND are able to look good in to the WiFi Pineapple MKV interface, it's not an issue with the firmware or the pineapple. Firmwares in their fresh state are basically images. If it flashes without errors (in boots, Webinterface, ssh), it's running like it does on all pineapples with the default firmware. Now, what I suggest you try is SSH into the pineapple (root@172.16.42.1) with the password you specified. If this works, follow the manual flashing instructions here: https://wifipineapple.com/?flashing But as I said, while I don't know what it is, it has to be something on the clients end.. Or at least I cannot think of why it would fail. You might also want to check if the file /pineapple/includes/js/functions.js exists. You'll have to do this over ssh. Best regards, Sebkinne Quote
JackChitt Posted January 1, 2014 Author Posted January 1, 2014 I credit the fix for my problem to Foxtrot. I simply left it running for a full day. attempted to sign in and like magic its working. I have no explanation of how this fix worked but it did. Thank you Mr. Foxtrot Quote
