Neworld
Whats a good alternative to the "Pineapple juice"? I wanted to get a longer lasting battery and was wondering what you guys use. :D
Jackie
I use http://bit.ly/OzFvEw myself, and it's fantastic. Running the pineapple, a usb hub, 16GB usb memory stick plus an Alfa AWUS036H for about 6 hours got it down to about 60%. Pretty good considering I was constantly jamming and had an average of about 70ish clients at all times.
sickduck
It has a .7A and a 2A output. Which do u plug the pineapple and hub into?
Darren Kitchen
We'll have a "Pineapple Juice" battery pack in the HakShop with over 9000 mAh, but that won't be for about a month. There are plenty of good solutions all over the net. I recommend one with dual USB ports for sure!
plwweasel
i just bought this from amazon, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005NGKR54/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00, and several other people in the forum have it. It actually has a power port adaptor that works with the pineapple. Here is a picture showing it powering the pineapple, usb drive and Evo 4G for tethering. http://www.flickr.com/photos/98946258@N00/7656776166/

sirknack
I was looking for a portable power source for the Pineapple myself. In the process, I came up with one of the most ghetto things that I've ever done in my IT career. A 6 volt lantern battery seems to work just fine. All you have to do is find a DC power cable that you aren't too attached to, hack several inches of it off before the barrel, strip and expose the copper wire, stab some holes in the plastic endcaps that came with the battery, thread the wires into them, and replace the caps onto the battery. They snap back into place and complete the circuit. This Pineapple has been running for about 7 hours now without a problem on a $4.00 battery from the local dollar store. I settled with the Anker Astro3 10000mAh ..... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005NGKR54/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00 WORKS GREAT!! :D

Neworld
I use the same one. We will actually feature it (a bit different) on the hakshop very soon :) Be careful though because I used the digital camera output on it to power a usb hub and it shorted my alfa..... If you have a usb hub, power through the usb port on the battery and not the digital cammera port. I'll post pictures of my setup when my new alfa comes in the mail and the usb power cable comes in too. B)
technocrat
I just purchased this battery. It is labeled as a 12000 mAh but is actually 10000 mAh. A little dodgy I know, but at least they caught and listed the error. For $30 it's worth a shot. Capacity 12000 mAh, Actual: 10000 mAh Output Voltage 5 V Output Current 1000/2100 mA Dual USB (1000/2100 mA) http://www.dealextre...sp-white-141927 Edited August 24, 2012 by technocrat

I like it for a few reasons- two USB ports; bout 10 hrs with the pineapple/usb hub/4g modem; and you can charge it while the pineapple is running off of it... I don't like turning my pineapple off when i am almost out of juice. Good price too.
technocrat
I was comparing the two batteries as they are very close in specs. I do like the Astro3's dual 2.1A USB vs the dx.com bsttery's dual USB 1A & 2.1A. It was the battery dimensions and lower price that convinced me that the dx.com would do the trick. My only concern is the product's quality as it's sometimes hit or miss when ordering from dx.com. I plan on using a Pelican case 1050 to house my pineapple at some point and I was trying to match the dimensions of the Pineapple juice (3.3 x 2.3 x .5) as closely as possible as a reference. dx.com battery Dimensions: 3.86 in x 2.76 in x 0.83 in Anker Astro3 Dimensions: 4.9 x 2.9 x 0.9 inches Edited August 25, 2012 by technocrat
