Jackpot
ZZJ, I really thank you for your great work. Well, concerning the option to 'send only pandora control URLs through Sproxy configured proxy', you wrote: It was never conclusively proven to work or not, but it would be simple to add to DS. But as Deezer has no country restriction i know of, it's not really needed. Well, actually the option works fine. I use SP1.003bPS1.008c (with Tor) & Firefox Portable. Flash version is 10.0.22.87. You can use even 'Turbo Mode' outside US with this option. Very cool. Cannot test the new version and I'm sad. So, I do hope the resurrection of the option. p.s. This option sometimes caused loading error, because connection to www.pandora.com:443 is not made through SP (SP says "E CONNECT www.pandora.com:443"). But somehow no trouble happens these days (possibly Pandora slightly changed their settings).

Was just a sanity check, as you can't exactly bypass a proxy if none is being used.

rjamesbrown
Just for anyone who is interested - I tried running SProxy.exe in WinE (after installing .net 2.0 within WinE) on Ubuntu Linux 9.04 and could not get it to work. Has anyone tried this and succeeded? I really like this application a lot, and am actually virtualizing windows largely to run it - which is a bit of a waste to me... I remember some time ago ZigZagJoe said he would try compiling it with mono instead of .net. Any progress with this? Anyway, great application, keep up the good work. rjamesbrown
I don't exactly remember, and I couldn't cut and paste the error, but it wouldn't start, and gave me an error screen. I installed .net 2.0 because I couldn't get 3.5 to work - and according to the wine website, this is the consensus.

rjamesbrown
I wish I had thought of that... I actually unistalled wine because .net had screwed it up a bit, and I couldn't uninstall it from the menu. If I get around to playing with it again I will definitely post a screenshot. Do you have any plans to build this with mono? Mind you I'm not insinuating that would be easy - I have no idea how hard that would be as I am not a super experience programmer, I'm just curious. benjamin1254
ZZJ dude I have issues with PS and the other unit... got it to work... hits about 200 megs downloaded memory... SP and PS SPAZ OUT! i mean i had it on "auto grab" then the first dry run with "turbo mode" going everything went well tell about the 200 meg mark... then PS spazed saying that it couldent parse the xml files being grabbed from pandora.... then i go about my second dry run and then i was reading through the log file as it was going along cuz pandora i thing was about to do its thing so it doesent do that whole "are you there?" crud then it started to spaz and it then said something about pandora talking to port 443 a ssl port.... and the log just DUMPED and i then terminated it cuz I dident know what to do about it. Any ideas man? first it was the fact it couldent grab the song list via xml then it just drops the link... i dont know if the program auto saves logs to go through but if it does i will see about getting them to you to look at. other then that GREAT JOB on what you have done and i wish you more luck in the future. Yes, it does save logs. See the folder where SProxy.exe is. You might try a restart, after spending about a night or so of ripping (10k songs processed) it tended to leak memory - .NET framework flaw in this case. iceb11
Hi Zipzag, Great software you got going there. I just started using it today, it saves me the hassle of having to have internet connection on my phone to listen to pandora. Donation on your way. Question for you, how hard is it to tweak pandorasaver to save songs for yobo.com which is the asian version of pandora. If it is possible, that'll be great as I listen to that site alot too. Thanks. Question for you, how hard is it to tweak pandorasaver to save songs for yobo.com which is the asian version of pandora. If it is possible, that'll be great as I listen to that site alot too. Thanks. Thanks :) I'll try to see if i can manage to get yobo to work, but if it doesn't have metadata in the songs it sends it's just about hopeless; I can't understand Chinese. I tried what looked to be a search thingie, but it gave me some error message (which i could not read). I've tried something else, and it started playing a song, but it's incredibly slow downloading... Well, the file it downloaded does indeed have metadata. Only problem is, as it seems to be unicode encoding, i'm not sure if it would be possible to name the files sensibly. Okay, i managed to get it to play some music (it seems to not have non-asian music however, which means it will be nearly impossible for me to figure out metadata). If i can't figure out metadata, short of saving everything with a audio/mpeg data type and .mp3 in URL there's no easy way to have it download music. The paths it uses are (seemingly random) and not predictable without figuring out how it knows which is which.

COKEMAN
Did I miss the discussion on Turbo mode AND Re-Encoding files at the same time? I know there was some discussion on it and the pros/cons, but I thought it got implemented. Maybe I am flipping the wrong switch? Whenever I set TurboMode on and the Reencode On, PS never goes into turbo and the setting is cleared when I reopen the settings.

Whenever I set TurboMode on and the Reencode On, PS never goes into turbo and the setting is cleared when I reopen the settings. Turbo mode can be enabled up to a certain number of songs, adjustable under advanced settings... it will download that many songs - 5 while ripping as fast as it can. afterwards, it turns off turbo to let it catch up with the encoding. Make sure you do not have low bandwidth mode enabled in SProxy settings (turbo and low bandwidth are mutually exclusive)

I'm getting this error when I try to listen to Pandora now, though. ... PS/FF/Flash WIN 10,0,22,87. Are you using pandora premium or what not? evidently, it requested mp3, but high quality (192kbs). This is new, i'm going to try to figure out what causes it to do so (192kbs is nice, better than 64kbs aac). When i just checked, i got regular AAc. Time to decompile it. Yes, this is for subscribers only. May or may not implement support for this.... I'm looking into making an all-in-one plugin that uses stub plugins rather than use a bunch of small all-in-one plugins which need to be configured separately and share features. Though, mp3 conversion is almost certain to be a casualty of this.

Well, I don't know anything about Pandora Premium... I'm just using the same ol' Pandora as always. *shrug*. If it's in any way relevant, I have PS set to reencode to 192kbs MP3's. Oh, hrmm... I'm seeing Pandora One, and it has an option for audio quality, which is currently set to 192kbs. (It also has an option for "normal quality.") Uhm, this is confusing me though--apparently my account is "premium," but I haven't even been on Pandora in about a month or two o_0. Under "Billing Info" it says if I have any questions about my subscription that I should contact the company with whom I signed up for Pandora... ?? Download button still seems to be working properly for me which is odd, though. is there any errors in the javascript console? Edit, looks like i forgot the leading slash, so it's evidently deciding that it's a url in itself (which, technically, is somewhat valid...). Blah.
