I just set up a webcam security system in my dorm... this would be a nice geeky addon, if i can get a pic stepper and a controller i could rotate the camera(via serial) and have the range displayed below the live feed. Ahh the possibilities.

Back in my windows using days i would partition off part of my hhd and store all my portables in there, almost in the same way the Program Files folder is organized. That way when It came time to reinstall windows, i wouldnt have to find all my old programs and reinstall them as well... Its not very hard to make an app semi portable. You can install it and copy all the .dlls and .exes into another folder and try to run it that way, or you can open the installer with 7zip/winrar and extract in that manner as well.. They might still write to the registry but if you are going to be using it fairly often it doenst really matter.

QFE. Thats really above and beyond anything i would want to do... I know that If my docs started disappearing I would be really pissed. I write >15 papers a semester, some of which range from 5-20 pages. This can be accomplished with a simple bat file, but there really is not point... your not "owning" the computer...youre just being a dick.

What OS... Linux, Window, Mac? I havent read the wiki but i have done ICS before. Do you have a dhcp running on your computer to assign an IP to the fon?

Maybe check some of the documentation for the tools you want to use.. im sure they will have a hardware list... and there is no support on the forums, people just now started asking questions about them, with out consulting google first.. Not all of them come with the same cards, its either luck of the draw or actually doing research that will get you the right one the first time. And you can read what cards come in them in the product description, seriously...does anyone read anymore or is that a fad of yesteryear? And when did the Eee become the "l33735t" pentesting device on the market? I can do more task, faster with my 15" dell then i ever could on a tiny mid grade laptop. Do not get me wrong, I would love one for surfing the INTERNET on the couch or taking to class, but if you really want to get some pentesting work done get a machine that can handle it with the fewest amount of hiccups. I guess the "cool" factor comes into play alot, but I will stick to my dual cores over a solo atom any day. NOTE I AM NOT BASHING THE EEE IN ANYWAY, I JUST THINK THAT CONSULTING THE BACKTRACK FORUMS, OR READING DOCUMENTATION IS A MUCH EASIER WAY OF LEARNING.

I do not have a capture card, but i have ripped almost my entire collection of DVDs. If there is a way of tricking skype into using that feed i will set up a test account and if you pm me with your SN ill add you to the list, just to see how it is working

If someone had Jasager running on the LaFonera with the sdcard mod I am sure that would work well too, i am not sure if drives exist for sdhc cards though(will check) La Fonera 2.0 Beta This could be used in conjunction with a large(8-16GB) flash drive to store logs. The antenna is detachable, so a larger, better one could be used. It has an Atheros processor running @ 180MHz and an Atheros SoC wifichip set. Also has 8MB of flash and 32MB or RAM, more than the Fon you guys are currently working with. And Redboot does come installed off the shelf. I would live to help out more, but i cant seem to get the funds together for an extra router atm. You just have to be carefull in how you market this "new platform". Gos was shitty, but it managed to push out cheap computer, the problem? Many people returned them because they didnt know it was a windows system and they couldnt install their dancing ladies to the desktop. It sounds great, but steam is starting to port their engine to linux as this is posted so you will have competition. Compatibility is an issue to, Quake is just one game, are all windows games going to work the same? AND if so are there different methods of installing...where windows dumps files in System32 and Program files, will this dump them in the actual linux file system or is it all installed via wine? Very interesting, would love more info on it and how it works, without giving away the Secret Sauce of course.
