So at a university where I worked there was a Radius server. This allowed login varification (AD integration). So basically you open up IE/Firefox, come to a login page and your session is authenticated. You basically put into a DMZ of sorts and then once authenticated your IP is then allowed to passthrough data (FTP, HTTP, etc). My idea is sorta that you setup a http server on your localhost. Allowing access from any IP and sending them to a "login page" that looks exactly like the Universities. But instead of authentication, it cancels them out with a "505" error and you have their username and password. Setup the wireless cards MAC and SID to match the AP that is closest to you. That way your stronger signal will be the one it connects with. In theory it might work. What do you guys think?

The easiest way is to use Autopatcher for a post install updates or RyanVM update packager with Nlite (or xpcreate) for pre install. Check out the www.msfn.org forums

There's also been some mention of MSOOBE.exe being able to escalate priv's. I think if you run msoobe.exe with an Alternate data stream you might be able to escalate there too.

Yeah I already explained that it doesn't work as guest or normal user accounts. As admin your golden, but it still gives you access to kernel so it's still highly useful as admin. We might have to find some other ways of escalation to at least admin, then this would rock.

Yeah they use wireless with encryption of some sort... google it I'm sure it's there somewhere. I don't think they send their SID out... something like ethereal or airsnort would find it fine... some linux distro would be the best

So I stumbled across this *ahem* on digg http://www.pandora-security.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2093 I haven't gotten it to work at work. I'm sys admin here running a domain. I had my user as guest and normal user and both won't allow this. So i don't know what patches I have that disallow this.

It is definitely getting annoying. Just because it's called Hak.5 doesn't mean we are going to explain the world of hacking to every newb out there. I think this is going to be good and bad. But we'll have to see what the bad is. As I can only forsee good right now :) Think about it... Intel produces chipsets, chips, video (while onboard w/no svid out) Nvidia produces chipsets, video (their workstation region is okay, modelling is fairing well) AMD/ATI produce chipsets (ATI and AMD), video (ATI VIVO is great!) and chips (if only pricing was competitive) If AMD/ATI can help each other with chipsets/integration and VIVO onboard perhaps? Media powerhouse cheap! ---- I have to say I always thought of it as AMD/Ati and intel/Nvidia... wierd...
