  1. I always thought that the fourth dimention would be time..?
  2. I just picked up a copy of Wired (having finally found somewhere in the UK that sells the damn thing), and a little interesting piece mentioned Ruby on the Rocks. It's pretty much a program using Ruby that allows coders to work on websites easily, and was designed with Apache on the mind. Since the Hak.5 site is in need of a re-design, this might be something to think about...?
  3. *coughs* Hak Point Five Is Cool I count 5 ;)
  4. *coughs and starts singing* Oompa, Loompa, doopady doo...
  5. Jeeze Captain VaKo sir, you've got your work cut out for you here, I mean... the Spammers aren't in the jungle, they are the jungle! Also, congratulations on being made a MOD, create some funky flash about how it feels ;)
  6. Heyyyy, c'mon, the good people of the Republican Party aren't all idiots, I mean look at the good work they've done over the last few years, helping those poor destitutes in Iraq, by ridding them of their horrible dictator... I can't keep it up anymore, sorry, I tried to write something good about them, but I just can't. Why do people keep voting for these Jackasses, the Democrats aren't any better either! I mean, seriously, Britain needs to retake America and start again. Viva La Resistance!!
  7. I'm a big animal lover (No Melodic, not that kind), so I kinda see both sides of the Dog vs Cat issue. One of the main advantages of owning a dog is that they're always ready to jump you and lick you to death, which can cheer you up no-end when you've had a bad or hectic day, with the obvious drawback that you a) get dog slobber everywhere, and b) You have to be ready to take them for a walk all the time. Cats on the other hand are extremely shifty critters, who won't return home for days on end, and even then only 'cause no-one's invented a can opener that can be operated by paws yet. They have the great benifit of being hilarious though, there's nothing like the sight of a cat trying to lay gracefully on top of the TV, or a monitor, before falling off the back out of sight, only to emerge with the air of superiority that just shouts "Yeah, I meant to do that". In conclusion, cats are the kinda animal you want if you don't want to look after them every minute of the day, and find them funny, whereas dogs are for people who are generally emo, and need cheering up. Of course, neither beats having an armadillo as a pet, that's just cool.
  8. Ooh!! So... wait, you're saying that this Dogsite is good, because it has moved us back in time, to a point less close to the end of the universe....
  9. They have computing books now?! When did this happen? What revolution will be caused by this latest development?!! Why am I asking so many questions?!! Find out, tommorrow, same battime, same batchannel. *coughs* Uh... anyways, finally finished a new banner for my webblog thing, just thought I'd share.
  10. Wait... is that another 500 years, 'cause the creation of Myspace itself set us back 500 years, or are you just dispairing about the site in general, and saying that it's still myspace sending us back 500 years?
  11. Again, going with the emulator side of things, you could simply run the OS as a virtual machine if you can locate the software required for such an act, and aren't of an ethically opposed viewpoint to pirated software. Torrents are your friend.
  12. Sorry for this, but it's kinda obligatory in this era of Pop Culture... I spent a whole year of school thinking I had mono, but it turned out that I was just really, really bored.
  13. There's something wrong with you guys, but I can't quite put my finger on it... Nor do I really want to, I don't know where it's been.
  14. Ungh, if you're working this kinda thing on a lappy, you'll probably face the pain in the ass that is the boot screen. I did this kinda thing for ".geek" (you'll find out about that sooner or later) yesterday, and couldn't get the boot screen to work, even though I was overwriting the NTOSKRNL.exe file in safe mode (F8 key, bless thee). So, an allnighter was pulled to fix this problem, and eventually it dawned on my fragile mind. NTOSKRNL.exe wasn't the file beeing booted at the bootscreen for my lappy. I'm not sure whether this is just the case for Vaio's, but if you're having trouble getting your customised bootscreen to load, look for a file called NTKRNLPA.exe. I found this at around seven am, and as soon as I opened it, I realised it contained the same information as the original NTOSKRNL.exe. So, a quick bitmap change later, and a restart, and the bootscreen is just how I want it. Just thought y'all'd like to know in case you face the same problem.
  15. Hmm... Let's see, spelling is good, grammar is also good, no 1337 speak, no retarded flaming, intelligent points, and another mention of Wladimir (VaKo gets +10 Kudos for that name) Holy crap! We have a person who has joined the forum recently who's not either flamebait, or a complete newbie! Welcome aboard Mr Paradox.
  16. Ta dude, I'm gonna backup, just incase, but it sounds good in theory, I just have to make sure I don't fuck up, and destroy all the crap I've got on my lappy.
  17. Thanks for the link dude, I'm finding it extremely groovy. I've never used Linux before, so the show is a great help, and I'm thinking about partitioning off part of my computer to dual boot Linux. Does anyone know of a way this is possible without me having to backup all my files and re-installing windows?

I'm gonna do it. I'm finally going to give in to the penguin, and learn how to use Linux. You've talked me into it.
  19. *grins* Just a lil' thing that The Z pointed me to yesterday, called Backtrack. Very, very funky lil' Linux number with an extreme amount of... *ahem* tools... on.
  20. My first attempt to multi-monitor, using my Vaio. Aaaand, 'cause both these pictures are terribly lit..
  21. Get to college!!! a) I can't be bothered with this test if I'm on my own ;) b) I've found some sweet spots on a wardrive with Network Stumbler c) I've got a CD for you that you will like
  22. I can't speak for anyone else, but it's kinda a refreshing breath of air to have a problem posed in such a logical, and coherant way. You didn't use all caps, your grammar was easy to understand, as was your spelling, and you asked politely. You put effort into your thread, so don't think that you're being a burden dude, y'all are welcome here, and I'm sure everyone's happy to help :D
