a usb hub is def supported, I would go for a powered hub because there may not be enough power for two devices.

I think I have been having this same issue since firmware 2.6.x, no one else has said anything the problem is not there when I go back to 2.5? I can unplug the alfa NHA and then plug back in for it to show up in iwconfig. does that work for you?

I couldn't find any on the webs. I had a thought that alot of people are in public when they encounter the pineapple and maybe have one that looks like google.com but with embarrassing sounds? google.com so some people wont think the sound is comming from that. EDIT: one for the sound of orgasm's and another with a long fart sound, lol Im thinking this might be one for ettercap as well? WM lol

Im sure your work is def something we can all use, the mk3 aka ap-51 is something alot of people have and want to use in conjunction with the mk4.

what pineapple version? mk4? those instructions are only for versions 1 and 2 not 3 and 4

if you look at the log, you will see when it does, around 60 seconds. cron throughs a time mismatch error

It's open-wrt there must be a file or setting that you can use to enable white/black listing from regular wifi, what about a package from opkg that will do this.

two reasons first 5 volts in the pineapple gets regulated to 5 volts but that regulator takes about 1 volt and your actually running on around 4 +- second 12 volts at 2 amps converted to 5 volts would end up giving you a lot more than 2 amps, I don't have the math on me right now

I beleve that a sleep command has ben in the mk4 firmware since 2.5.0

thanks seb, the issue I have with the nha is ever since firmware 2.6.X it started, when the adapter is plugged in from boot, it can also fix itsef when unplugged then re-plugged but it is not phy1 but now phy2. I have flashed back to 2.5.1 and the issue is gone and functions like you explained. another thing to note is I've always had to "ifconfig wlan1 up" before a reboot, or the nha is not even recongnized as any phy interface.

I have 2 of those drives but 16 gig and have not had the misfortune yet. cross my fingers. it is a known issue with the cruzer fit and a few other sandisk models, I don't think anyone got it fixed and there are post that sugest others have not either. It just plain sucks. telot likes a thumb drive called Pico, says it's got great read/write speeds and no BS.

I may have tracked the issue of phy1 aka alfa NHA not getting linked to wlan1, I was trying to see if macchanger was working now and when I issued "ifconfig wlan0 down; macchanger -A wlan0; ifconfig wlan0 up" the pineapple ssid was not broadcasting so Issued "wifi" and it looked like that script was doing something to phy1 and phy2? so after that my nha was not tied to wlan1 and I had to re-issue "iw phy1 interface add wlan1 type managed" so the problem could lie in the command/script wifi. EDIT: I commented out wifi in the start-up script and that did not fix the issue of wlan1 not getting created. BUT I don't notice anything else out of order and ask do we need the script wifi??? what is it's function? EDIT 2 after having my NHA connected via powered usb hub, I can edit /etc/config/wireless (for radio1 aka NHA/wlan1) if I comment out "option disabled 1" and reboot, wlan1 now shows up:-) you can also change "option mode ap" from ap to sta for managed or monitor for monitor. so this is another way to create an interface on wlan1. could this be why wlan1 is not showing up? EDIT 3 I noticed in the resources tab "PID USER ect" are not aligned

you could boot backtrack or ubuntu from disc or thumb drive to see if it shows up.

the pineapple can also give you an ip via dhcp on the poe/lan port, you just have to change you ethernets ipv4 settings to automaticaly get an ip and dns, could be another option to try.

have you also played with the settings on your windows box? like seting up ICS or just setting up as dhcp?

I beleve the current pineapple is using the latest in karma patches for hostapd, but the ones you can download are not as far up to date.
