  1. I think they should do a segment on this tool. It would be awesome to see what payload this tool has.
  2. Sorry for my ignorance, so this does not mean, that this is the end of Hak5 show right.
  3. Don't challenge me dude. What do I get if I win?
  4. Avast 5 will do just that for you. The new version, gives you the option to temporarily disable it for 1 min, 30 min, 1 or 10 hours.
  5. Are your friends using wired or wireless connection?
  6. Totally agree. I've used Ubuntu before and kinda liked it. I now am a big fan of BT.
  7. I am a bit disappointed with Nvidia at this point in time. I am a really big fan of Nvidia and was hopping to see a Killer card but after reading some review on this card, its not looking good for Nvidia. And I agree with what Sparda mentioned above, its so true.
  8. Setting up, maintaining and managing a DC can be quite a difficult and challenging task, for a home user I don't see its benefits very much. But from I business stand point, it makes a lot of sense. Not forgetting the costs which can rank up quite high as well. I mean it all depends on what you are really try to achieve.
  9. That's the king of set up I want to have one day, once I move to a bigger house.
  10. Great stuff! Thank you for sharing.
  11. So how are you doing with that large password list? Finished uploading it yet or gave up.
  12. I think this link can help you. http://www.hak5.org/forums/index.php?act=H...DE=01&HID=7
  13. I am a very conscious user when it comes down to phishing or stealing personal information. I am always careful, when clicking on links that I don't know, or where they come from. So you can try and phish me, but it won't work, I delete most of my emails that I receive. I don't use social website much, everytime I subscribe to a different website I always use a different password and very difficult to guess. I don't use https much, I use other methods for securing myself online. My reset questions are never personal, like what is my mother maiden name or how many dogs have I had in the past. I don't know try me.
  14. I am currently running 2 VMs on my Xp box, with a 10.000RPM HDD and 8 Gigs of ram in total and an Intel Quad Core CPU running at 2.8 GHZ. I think you will be better off with a faster CPU and lots of ram just to keep the VMs running happily. I personally don't like Dells, I never had a good experience with Dells, but that is just me. Alternately you could do a search for computer parts online, and build a cheap and fast system for just over $1000.00 dollars. But if your budget is tight, I guess Dell will do just fine.
  15. You could try and hack my Gmail password, it would almost be impossible to crack it. I use upper and lower case, as well as combination of letters, numbers and symbols and its a total of 20 characters. That's how strong my passwords are.
  16. There are so many ways to learn about hacking, I guess watching the hack5 shows would be a good starting place. And if I don't understand something, I would always Google it or use internet forums to search on the subject. I guess reading books on the subject will also help develop the knowledge and understanding of how things works and as well as practicing on your own very important.
  17. There are so many ways to learn about hacking, I guess watching the hack5 shows would be a good starting place. And if you don't understand something, that's why Google is out there as well as the hack5 forum.
  18. So what do you suggest?
  19. I kind liked this one too, so I reckon its worth watching it as well. Episode 705 – Airport WiFi Challenge and your Ultra Software Picks http://www.hak5.org/episodes/episode-705
  20. I will definitely recommend Avast 5, as I am currently using it on my PC at home, and never had any issues with it. There were a couple of instances where I had to uninstall it, but again during the uninstalling I never encountered any issues whatsoever. With respect to Comodo Anti-virus Defense + and Firewall suite I also would recommend it, I never used it before apart from the Free Comodo Firewall, furthermore Comodo makes really good security software as well. I guess you could use a combination of both Avast5 and the Free Comodo Firewall for protecting yourself.
  21. I partly agree with that, but you still need to protect yourself no matter what. Even though Linux is a lot safer than windows, there are still viruses written for linux, not with the same numbers as there are for windows but its just a matter of time before Linux becomes a targeted system likewise windows. You may be safe for now, but soon or later you will have to cope with it.
  22. That fixes all the problems.
