  1. For both of you, I recommend you both flash my latest firmware. It includes a few updates and fixes this issue. Best, Sebkinne
  2. You can also hide the SSID by giving it the option to disable ssid broadcast. Best, Sebkinne
  3. You can now download the latest firmware, 1.7. Best, Sebkinne
  4. Hfam, all the methods I described are equally good. None of them give a greater risk for bricking your device. How about you give the GUI a shot. If that fails, why not try one of the other methods. My favourite is the one with a tftp server on the win7 box and you using telnet (ie redboot method). Best, Sebkinne
  5. Antianti, Flashing is never 100% secure. However, bricking the routers is not as easy as it sounds. I still do not accept any responsibility if you break it. I would recommend you use the GUI app to flash your fon2202, if that doesn't work, just follow the redboot flashing guide. However I recommend that you wait until I release the new version in a bit, as there are issues with wifi in the latest release. It will be fixed within the next few hours or minutes. Best, Sebkinne
  6. Uploaded a fixed version of the 1.7 firmware. Best, Sebkinne
  7. Hello everyone, I am back with a new release! This version 1.7 introduces a password protected pineapple control centre (username and password are the same as the ssh one, even if changed), finally fixed wifi and quite a few speed fixes / patches. Here is the link: http://www.mediafire.com/?98u9gur4xxj974w I hope you guys enjoy it! Best, Sebkinne PS: Should there be any issues, I am sorry, I will fix anything tomorrow morning.
  8. Using winscp or ssh to get into 172.16.42.42 is wrong. the *.42 should be you (or the gateway). The pineapple will always be on 172.16.42.1 Try SSHing into the pineapple first on that IP and see if that works. Maybe something got messed up somehow. Best, Sebkinne
  9. I agree. If this fails, just reflash. Reflashing takes about 10-15 minutes and hasn't caused any problems till now, but hey, if it isn't needed, no reason to do it! Unless you want some of the newer functionality. But that is not pressing I would say. Best, Sebkinne
  10. Dear Kahhak, While you are right, that at the moment it is a simple htaccess file, it seems secure enough for now. I will be adding ssl encryption later on. Best, Sebkinne
  11. You want to ssh into 172.16.42.1 not 172.16.40.1 Best, Sebkinne
  12. In my new firmware I have included a fix. I will release it in a couple of hours. Basically, when going to /pineapple/ it asks for a username (root) and a password. The password is the password used for SSH. It updates with any changes as it uses the /etc/shadow file. I will also explain how to do it in my thread, I just don't have enough time to post it right now. Best, Sebkinne
  13. Antianti, The firmware works, it just has a few kinks that need to be worked out.. It should work on the 2202, I think someone mentioned this earlier here. The web interface that you see on the videos is included in this firmware. Otherwise, there are a few new features which will be in the new version: 1. Password protected pineapple interface. 2. Wifi working (should be fixed now). 3. Slimmed down the system even more. Best, Sebkinne
  14. Screamms, Devices broadcasting network? As in access points? They will not get connected to the pineapple. Clients will though! If that is what you mean that is a different issue :) Best, Sebkinne
  15. If all of this fails, please try flashing the firmware I posted here on the forum or wifipineapple.com That should resolve your problems. Best, Sebkinne
  16. Please try flashing my firmware which you can find in this forum and under wifipineapple.com. That should resolve your issue for now! Best, Sebkinne
  17. Dear Sjobs, The pineapple MKIII is reachable under the 172.16.42.1 The port is 80 for the webinterface: http://172.16.42.1/pineapple You can also reach the pineapple using ssh on the same IP. Best, Sebkinne
  18. Before you run any scripts or set up your box, can you reach the pineapple? Also, when the router has started up, do you see a wifi network being broadcast? If that is not the case I believe that the pineapple is hanging somewhere during the boot / startup. Sebkinne
  19. I have been very busy the past two days and was not able to put too much work into this. I should have fixed a few more issues by this weekend. Glad to see that the firmware is working for so many people. Best Regards, Seb
  20. I will give that a shot. I can port most apps to my image... Best, Seb
  21. You should be able to run opkg install ettercap_NG-0.7.3-2_atheros Regards, Sebkinne
  22. I appreciate all the feedback you guys are giving, I would however also appreciate if this thread could be kept a little more organized. Edit your posts if you are just giving an update. That way it is easier to find information if people need it. I have not had too much time working on the firmware today but I think I can churn out a working wifi by tomorrow! Best, Sebkinne
  23. I have to agree. Not bad - but for windows. I think I'll stick with my current tool-set ;) Seb
  24. I have released an untested beta which should fix a bit of lag and should fix the WIFI. The link can be be found in the first post. Having had a long day and wanting to get to bed, I thought I would post it if someone wants to try it out. Let me know if it works or if there are still errors. Note: WIFI led has not been fixed yet. If the beta works fine I will add some final fixes tomorrow and post that up. Regards, Sebkinne
