  1. What can I say about these headphones other than Wow! The RP-DH1200's reproduce the highs and lows really well along with the midrange. Unfortunately, since these headsets are so good some of the old mp3's I listened to sounded liked crap because of the crappy compression that was used to make them. I should also like to mention that depending on what kind of person you are; you might find that these headphones do fit kind of tight to the point where your head feels like its being squeezed. Although I think they fit just right. Tech Specs: Drivers: 50 mm Impedance: 50 ohms Sensitivity: 107 dB/mW Power Handling Capacity: 3,500 mW Frequency Response: 5Hz - 30kHz 3.9 ft detachable cord weight 15.3 oz, 12.7 (without cord) Let me know if you guy's need any more information. This is just a quick and dirty review so I just put down what I thought would be pertinent.

    Learning

It's probably not, but Was that an IT Crowd reference? Roy: "Hello, IT. Have you tried turning it off and on again?"
  3. The problem is that it costs money to do that. I just set up Outlook clients to a Linux exchange server and its free. At this point you are grasping at straws.
  4. You are right. I have had very little problems with Outlook. Outlook 2003 is another story, but over all no problems. Now, for users who try to use it that know nothing about it, of course you are going to hate it, because most users are so stubborn that they don't want to learn a new skill. They want it to work like their Yahoo or GMAIL accounts. Outlook does make sense in the work place were you have agents who have a 33 gig contact lists which need to be backed up to an exchange server. Believe me you do not want to lose those contact lists. The boss over the insurance company that I work for does not back up his Outlook Contacts and he has well over a 50 gig pst file. On the day that his hard drive crashes I won't bother coming into work.
  5. The DoD pretty much has the rights to the Internet since it was a project developed by them in association with ARPA which we now know as DARPA. That is the short version; you can google the rest.
  6. It's also funny because if she needed to use a computer; she could have gone to the Library on campus and used theirs.
  7. I take it that you are saying that you had 4 Operating systems installed? Anyway, she is definitely not a victim, because she knew what she was doing; I have seen the news report footage and read the story what I got out of it was she wanted a cheap computer and thought that she could get Ubuntu to work with little to no effort. She did not want to pay the extra money for a Windows based system. About that verizon wireless card she had problems with; you cannot order it with the notebook. She is scamming Dell for money or a free notebook. People can play the bleeding heart game all they want, but the fact is she screwed up and she knew that she screwed up so she is trying to shift the blame away from herself.
  8. There is a Man in the Middle plug in that you can get for Ettercap then all you have to do is supply the website with modified links. I did something like this for Cyber Security and redirected traffic from Microsoft.com to a site about switching to Linux. I imagine if you somehow spoofed the site that you wanted to, you could modify the links to suit your needs.
  9. Well, she would if she was like everyother user and not installed an Anti-virus. Don't be complacent in your belief that there are no viruses for Linux, because their are, end of story. Anyone who tells you that there are no viruses for Linux is selling snake oil.
  10. She could have got a free copy from the University. That would have solved the problem. Most of the Universities I have been have always had a free copy for students and faculty. I must agree though she knew what she was doing, because if you go to Dell's website you have to click on the drop down list at the top of the page and scroll all the way down to "open-source PCs" (Just like Sparda said). She could not have got there any other way (i.e clicking on the pretty pictures). The stupid kid just wanted to get out of college to do whatever. Anyway, it's was just an excuse to tell mom and dad why she dropped college.
  11. I see nothing wrong with both closed and open source. It's just a childish rivalry like the Mac versus Windows commercials. If you are an IT professional it PAYS to know both. Otherwise, it's a useless debate for fanboys. I use both everyday and have had little to no problems with both Linux, Windows, and the Mac OS's. The people that like to gripe usually do an unfair comparison and have unusually high expectations (one OS can't do this). When it all comes down to it; it's just user preference.
  12. The best way to do it is a reinstall. Microsoft obviously will not help (I know). More than likely if you cannot guess the password or wait 3 days for the password to be cracked (Depending on the complexity) you have no other choice. Have them write it down next time and store the written password in a safe. Just to teach him a lesson format it anyway and tell him thats what happens when you forget your password. Also don't forget in some states password cracking software is illegal. However, if that is not going to stop you then my hats off to you. Edit: Here is a link to some password recovery tools: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetr...assrecovery.htm What you do with these tools is your responsibility.

  14. If you have a firewall up it could be throwing a fit over some traffic. I had that issue with a Belkin Wireless adapter and it turned out to be my firewall would kick the connection when my wireless activity went idle.
  15. Why post a thread about not reading the forums at all. Aren't you just wasting your time? Not only that if everyone were on the same level it would get pretty boring.
  16. I didn't know if I could embed the video so I am just going to post the link. Anyway I thought it was funny. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did.
  17. Open Suse 11.1 with KDE 4.1 and Gnome 2.24
  18. I recommend OpenSuse with the Gnome interface. It's a lot easier to use, but if you want a Vista like interface the KDE 4 does the trick.
  19. I don't know, however I intend to find out. It would make things easier if it did.
  20. I don't recommend using a pirated version of Windows XP because their is no guarantee that it is secure. It's never worth it to use a pirated copy of Windows because their could be viruses or other nasty stuff put on the image. I would Recommend using linux if you cannot get a legitimate copy of Windows. There is one way of getting a legal copy for free though. If you are in College you can get a free copy from the University website. Other than that I cannot help with a pirated software.
  21. Are you using a pirated version of XP or a copy? What kind of computer are you using, a custom built or name brand (i.e. Dell, HP, Compaq...)
  22. Yeah, I kind of came up with the idea when thinking about ghost hunting and sending this little guy (minus the Missile launcher) where I could not go. I when I finish it I ought to have a test run and try to have people control it from a website.
  23. I got this idea when I was looking into making a mobile webcam. Then I seen the HAK5 episodes with the missile launcher and laser pointer and figured what the hell. One thought that came to mind was how funny it would be to use that on Darren's cat. I can't wait to use it on my roommate's cat. I will be working on it in my spare time so I will post my progress here. Although I will probably need help since I have not used java all that much. Hare are some of my sources: http://blogs.msdn.com/coding4fun/archive/2...22/1507304.aspx http://www.instructables.com/id/Making-a-N...-Vision-Webcam/ http://www.societyofrobots.com/competitions_mobot.shtml One more thing I found a webcam that can turn 360 degrees so it can aid in steering when you want to see whats behind you. Although it would be like steering a tank.
