  1. I know, I know I shouldn't bother replying but I do love a good verbal shellacking and stopping to new lows. =P Crash, I don't think digip meant to come across as being insulting in his post, you were wide open for that kind of remark and you have to give the guy some credit due to it being rather amusing. Turth be told I personally don't give a toss and a half about spelling and grammer as long as its readable and yes I find your post meet these requirements. The irony in your above post is you mention respect but quickly forget that respect is earned not automatically given. Some members in here would view an effort in grammar and spelling as a form of respect. No one in here (well thus far) made any direct insulting remarks in your direction and after the above posting you can safely bet your left testicle that you wont be getting any respect in here any time soon. Seriously you came in here talking all big with a joker name such as crashoveride and we are classed as skiddies? Mate harden the fuck up a little and learn to take a joke. Mr Millionaire May I suggest you spend some of your wealth on the surgery that is so desperately required to remove your head from your ass. Kind regards, S
  2. I cant believe I missed this, I fucking laughed hard! Well played digip. Hey Crashoveride, Quick get Razor and Blaze to broadcast a call to arms over satellite, W3 n33dz a ArmY 0f H@x0rz! =P I hope you purchased that copy of the movie hackers that you are oh so fond of. ^_^
  3. I am assuming you used net tools for this? Great post by the way, I have done some brief reading on what little I can find about DoS and the shit is really interesting from a networking prospective. If any of you have some informative reading material or tutorials I would most appreciate some linkage. I hear SYN attacks work rather well, but so far my understanding of it is rather limited other than how it exploits some of the fundamentals of the TCP/IP 3 way hand shake. I may have to do some googlieng and try and find a tool to attack my LAB setup. DoS 1 take 1: We were running a simulated environment in my networking class. x2 cisco 2500 routers and I think it was x2 3600 series switches. 1 Win2k server with IIS enabled/demo web page running in a VM, 1 winxp client and my laptop. The object was to block my laptop via an extended access list in the 2500 router. I figured fuck this I aint getting blocked without a solid reason so I fired up nettools prior to the ACL being applied and UDP and HTTP flood the win2k server first off for some lulz. The guys on the server took a massive performance hit and at first couldn't work out what was going on until I mentioned to run a netstat. lol it took a great deal of time for cmd to open let alone for it to list the number of connections established. We didn't check it as in depth las your above posting due to the painful amount of lag on the server. I then took aim at one of the 2500 routers which handled the flood with ease and didn't cause any issues what so ever. Dos 2 take 2 Thanks to the enthusiasm displayed from my class mates from the successful attack on the server mentioned above our teacher was kind enough to demo a different type of network attack. We used the same setup as mentioned in the above but instead of 2 clients we fired up a total of 40 xp clients (every computer in the room). Basically he used telnet to connect to the 2500 router and pinged the broadcast address over and over. The result was all machines on the network replying to that ping which as you could imagine generated a fuck load of traffic and brought speeds to a crawl. Connections to our demo web page kept on timing out etc (cant remember the full results due to it happening early last semester). DoS 3 take 3: I mentioned a couple of days ago that I was messing with my class mates speedstream modem/router in here. One of the things I did was flood the bugger with some of the stuff available in nettools. Oddly enough my single computer + my shitty upload speeds doing a UDP flood was enough for him to notice a substantial speed reduction. Even more stranger was after 5 minutes of this attack he dropped off line. Shortly after I got a phone call were he told me he couldn't even log into the web based gui for configuration even though I stopped the flood after he dropped off msn. Apparently he had to re-flash the frimware to get it all to work again. I fail see how a UDP flood fucks firmware and am at a loss to even explain it.... maybe his shit just glitched up.
  4. Damn thats a hefty fine, can the Pirate bay wait it out until the USD falls some more? =P I can't see how they can claim it as a victory, granted they did win the court case but the site still stands. Pretty bloody pointless if you ask me and in any case the parties always seem to pick on these little sites. I wanna see the MPAA and other grow a pair and tackel GOOGLE.COM! Speaking of google last I heard youtube was brought out by google, is this correct? and if so google have way more to loose if they don't fight it out in the courts.
  5. lol we have a show down *que western music and tumble weeds*
  6. 5ive: I must say I really <3 your network setup, I recall seeing it in another posting on here and was like WOW! lol you must know your shit, after reading that job your working on half of it went over my head. XD GCninja: 1: total cost aprox 9000 give or take. XD 2: If you are talking about that thing in the rack cabinet it aint a laptop, its a RKM (rack mounatable keyboard monitor). I have it hooked up to my server for easy of configuration. I plan on getting another server and a KVM switch down the track some time. 3: lol I already have children, they are displayed in the above pic's. XD
  7. Ok my setup is a lil funky due to the one phone line I have being located in the main house, all my main comp gear is located in another room, which is not a apart of the main house that I like to call the command center. Which is aprox 40 meters away from the main house (it was kind of an after thaught to move comp shit in when it was built and I am not allowed to run cables to the main house). As for the cost, I have spent aprox $3000+ on my mcse and ccna lab setup which is all most completed, still another $200+ to spend. All my other gear would have set me back around $5000+. THE LAB My room/home networking gear My 15dbi omni that has a 500mw signal booster attached to it so I can connect to my wireless AP in the main house. Below is an old photo but, shit is by far more organized now.
  8. *hands Hex some tisues* now that you have had your nerdgazim clean your shit up! =P That is pretty kick ass, I wish he had such things in my area, I need more excuses to go out other than food, booze and cigga's.
  9. *lmfao @ hex and dingle* You guys do raise an interesting yet very valid point. Oddly enough its when the the do gooders of society get wind of this that they run with it and feel the need to protect us in a bubble wrapped society. So lets keep it on the down low, I would still like to be able to enjoy my violence, abusive language and sex scene filled movies. On that note I am gonna go steal a car and drift around a car park, seeing as Tokyo drift linked me to it. =P P.S: Wouldn't it be a dead set pisser if some mod did use hexscrews and dingle's logic to take them to court, LuLz of the century!
  10. Thanks Hex, glad you liked it and that other people may find it usefull. I originally wrote it all up for my fellow class mates and did my best to try and break it down and keep it as simplistic as possible. I think I made a mistake in the MITM one, if you were going to do the wifi one with a ad-hoc connection ICS (internet connection sharing for non networking people) would work better than bridging the connection seeing as it does DHCP. There may also be one or two minor things but I would have to read over it again, meh it serves its purpose anyways.
  11. lmfao @ SLV I hope you put the "internet" back on top of big ben where it belongs. You gotta have good signal strengths =P
  12. I like what I see in here, some of you guys have some bloody hardcore setups. Alas there can only be one winner and the prize goes to Pileofmush for getting a kinder gardener to design the topology. Bwahahahahahaha. sorry that was mean. XD Ok so here is my topology Ok not really my own setup but its my raugh diagram I am working on for a class assignment. I will chuck my real setup on when I can be bothered removing a few details that should not be posted. XD
  13. agreed hak5 store would kick ass. Or better still me actually coming into some funds for a fucking change =P student life sucks!
  14. happy hardcore <3 Trance needs more drugs =P
  15. nice, didn't know it ran on machines with those kind of specs. cheers for the info. One of these days I will make the switch from xp.
  16. This is bloody funny because its so "true". I can safely say that the vast majority of mp3's I have downloaded do not warrant my hard earned dollars and end up in the recycling bin. Seriously how many times have you purchased an album and thought all the songs on it suck except for 1 or 2. I love the opening they have for it, I think its a take off of the law and order intro. hearing that made my day the first time round. =)
  17. shonen

    Conficker C

*nods* I concur digip, As much as I like linux over windows there is no need for that mac elitist type fan boy attitude. =P
  18. BTW I also wrote this stuff up that should help you out with the above stuff (damn I sound like a women seeing as they over use the word stuff and thingie). Please bare in mind I did this sometime ago when I was more of a n00b than what I am now and due to being human I do make mistakes. In any case the links below will be more than enough to explain the basic concepts of a few things. physical MITMing networks Basic's of TCP/IP classes and subnetting class C addresses
  19. If the above mentioned parties take aim at google things could prove to be pretty interesting, the poor people at pirate bay lack the resources and financial backing compared to google. Due to the implications and cost to google I can't seem them rolling over without a good battle in the courts. Seriously though the majority of case's regarding technology or the internet for that matter should stay out of the courts, the majority of parties involved can barely understand the technology let alone the implications on what they are ruling on. Anyways this song has made me feel like listening to Fuck the MPAA *heads to youtube*
  20. *shakes head* barely worth commenting on. Props to Dingle though, the whole time he was being constructive in his comments and not dropping to the O.P's level *+ 100 respect points*
  21. Vako your CIO kicks some major ass! On the downside having someone who is a geek kind of ruins the fun seeing as you can't persuade the boss into ordering fun toys you don't really need .
  22. lol GhettoNet, got a spare dollar to help keep this access point up and going? I accept payment in the form of cigarettes =P
  23. lol *bows* thank you master jedi =P Well there isn't really much to know about cain, its very user friendly, point and clickish and has a fair few features other than the ARP poisoning side of things. There are a few good tutorials for it on youtube... maybe with messing with on your own lab. I believe you are correct on vlan's only being good for a single hop but even I am unsure about this. mmmm I wonder what best practice for this would be. I concur hexskrew and reckon that the O.P's issue is more than likely the IP addressing structure, I would be very surprised if an apartment block was using cisco equipment instead of say the netgear SMB stuff with its easily configured web gui. Question: With wireshark and finding the other networks situated on the LAN what packets would you be looking at inspecting? I am assuming ARP??? +1 for net tools, great program with lots of options.
  24. Actually that icon wallpaper would be a great way to fuck with people, set it as a back ground and clear all the real icons. Go make yourself some popcorn, pull up a chair and get ready for the laughs. CLICK CLICK CLICKY! ^_^ Hyde: I am really liking that work wallpaper mate. tiz mint!
  25. ah yeah, stupid me didn't take the background into consideration, yet another classic "me" fuck up. =P Damn straight it was a good album but I reckon fat of the land was better.
