My Alfa adapter broke they they where kind enough to let me choose anyone I want as a replacement here where some choices AWUS036NH(USB adapter) & AWUS036NEH(USB dongle) are using ralink chipset.AWUS036NHA(USB adapter) is using Atheros chipset.

I was hoping you guys can help me pick the best one to work with the mark v it doesn't need to be one of those but it has to be made by Alfa

Thanks in advance sorry for being such a noob

The NEH is a smaller lower powered version of the NH and both perform very well!

The NHA is a good card also, it has a high sensitivity which is nice, and rather high power. but in my experience, it has issues of bad stability across the board.

If I had to recommend one, I would say the NH ( or the neh ).

But wait for ithers opinions, or do more research of nha vs neh vs nh. they are all good cards, but all have their pros and cons

Also depends on what your main use would be. If it were me, I wouldn't recommend the NHA for a stable / steady internet connection, but more for survey of access points that the others just can't quite pick up. You will see among a plethora on various forums of people having issues with stability and having to physicaly unplug the NHA from usb and plug it back in because it just "quits" on them, with low use.

It is a great card, I would buy one! Great for cracking.

I will report my experience with the nha... it will not hold a stable connection as reported by many reviews.

Its ap mode (mana-toolkit/karma)is limited to 7 clients, my current setup with a raspberry pi, i use the nha as a internet source with iptables to allow threw traffic from eth0 and i experience disconnects do to what I believe is caused by bandwidth of more then 7 clients threw another device (eth0)... tx power is also hardcoded to 20db...

If your looking to try arpspoofing or anything related, maybe not the card for this job...

Rnx-n600ube I have purchased the othernight for its reviews on stability

Edit. Howlong did u own the device? I have a bad unit for about a year and wonder if they will send me a new one?

I highly dislike the AWUS036NEH adapter i find it to be less stronger at picking up networks then my AWUS036H i've got 4 wireless adapters out of all of them i get the best signals from my alfa network AWUS036H its the silver one legit alfa with the sticker the one hak5 sells it doesn't pick up networks as good i'd say i lose 2 bars compared to the AWUS036H

I have to agree with zara. The 36H is rather good at what it does, but its an older card aswel. I use my external 36h with my pineapple. Inface I use the nh, neh, and the 36h all in my powered hub to the pineapple. And all for different purposes. While the 36h is great and amazing in its connectivity / injection standars, it is dismissive in other requirements you may need. Its a b/g card. If that's what you seek, then go for the 36h. If you need b/g/n. Go for the NH

The neh is low power consumption and max 1watt, and is in a smaller case. The nh is higher power consumption and 2watt and in a bigger case

Are there any benefits to 2 watts which is, I believe, 33 dBm.

After all, the maximum txpower can be set to is 30dBm (iw reg set BO).

I have a AWUS 036H which I'm happy with. I'm going to buy another card.

I would predominantly use it for accessing wifi, arpspoofing, and packet injection.

Should I get another 036H or something else?

Stick with the 036H, whatever you do don't get the NHA. It totally effs up the Pineapple to the point you need to re-flash the firmware. The NHA works great with laptop/PC but not with the Pineapple. Plus you hardly get any support on this forum.

Sorry to bring up a dead topic (I was just kinda flippin through the forum ) but there's definitely a benefit to a 2W card. I can't speak for the Pineapple cuz i haven't tried it, but it's pretty easy to alter the crda/regulatory domain to whatever txpower you want for any country code in Ubuntu/Debian (Kali). BO isn't even 30 anymore, it's 20 in the 2.5GHz range now. I bought that card just so i could use it at 33dBm with my BiQuad/Satellite Dish setup. I have my reg domain country codes in my kali installations pretty much arranged by my different alfa cards. BO's 33, US 27, GB 30, CN 25.

The entire wireless-regdb "rules" file is called db.txt. You need to download the newest wireless-regdb tar and newest crda tar. You can pretty much edit the text file to anything you want before you compile. Then replace the regulatory.bin in your /lib/crda directory. Like i said i've never tried it with any of my pineapple's, but i've done it like 20 times since some kali/ubuntu updates upgrade the crda files. Here's the tutorial i used, pretty much walks u through it word for word

Also i'm pretty sure the NEH is only 1/2W. I have 2 of em, plus the H, NH, NHR v2, 051NH v2 for 5GHz, (I blame Darren and Shannon for convincing me i could trust my technolust) and that black Alfa card without a label the Hakshop used to sell with the blue led when MK IV's were fairly new. I think it's an NHA, it's the only card i own that that gets stick in country code 98 which doesn't even exist whenever i try to do an iw reg set. But every card has something it does better than all the others and worse than all the others. There's definitely not a "best" wifi card. You can techinically push any of the cards past their limits except the NHA. Their instabilities usually get more enhanced than their power when you do that tho. I can vouch for the NH tho, it works great at 33dBm with a good antenna. I had it rockin with the Alfa Pen Booster from the Hakshop on my BiQuad before i snapped the RP-SMA connector off the amp screwing it onto my antenna  . I only had it for like 2 or 3 weeks. I tried to solder it back on but it looks like a cpl components came off the pcb with it. I'm gonna order another one soon, the penbooster + 33dBm NH + BiQuad = doing my airodump's in full screen with like a 6 or 7 font and the terminal still filled up before i could see any client connections lol. I know this post doesn't help the OP, but maybe somebody....
