MBraedley Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 (edited) I see wlan1 listed in iwconfig, as well as /etc/config/wireless, but whenever I issue ifconfig wlan1 up, I don't get an error, but the interface doesn't come up. I also see it using the Network Configuration infusion, but trying to configure it through there doesn't work either. I can't figure out what's wrong, as I've tried some other suggestions on the forum, but nothing has worked. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Edited July 19, 2013 by MBraedley Quote
Mr-Protocol Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 If you are having it plugged in on power up of the pineapple, that may be why. Quote
Sebkinne Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Actually, this is most likely a power issue. Are you using a powered hub? Quote
MBraedley Posted July 20, 2013 Author Posted July 20, 2013 Actually, this is most likely a power issue. Are you using a powered hub? I'm powering it off of a Pineapple Juice battery pack. I thought that was sufficient. But even connecting to wall power, I'm still having the same problems. Quote
MBraedley Posted July 20, 2013 Author Posted July 20, 2013 Okay, I think part of the problem was with the cable I was using. I can now bring the interface up, but it won't scan for access points, so I can't connect to anything. The interface just goes down when I try. I get errors when I try to change the mode, specifically: Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) : SET failed on device wlan1 ; Invalid argument. Is there anything else I should try? Quote
drix Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 You need to use USB hub with external power cable, you need two power sources, one for pineapple, and another one for devices connected to pineapple. don't forget about red cord. Quote
guybrush Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 using a different USB cable may yield better results. Quote
