I have a un modified San Disk U3 drive and I am going to DD it play with that see if I can find the magic smoke and puff puff it into my non-U3 drive I have a week long underway comign with the Navy so should have plenty of bull shit time to play with this drive. :) 8)

Ubuntu or should I say Xubuntu works perfect on my laptop straight outta the box even. Have it dual booting Win XP Pro and Xubuntu and everything ran perfect setup was flawless and everything. I was running XGL for a little while but it was more of a system drain then anything so I just got rid of it. Anywho I think you should Xubuntu its great.

well you order the parts and build it for them. Its not that difficult. it would be just as if they ordered there own parts. Will they trust you now that is something you have to prove on your own. You will prove yourself by word of mouth. Tell everyone to tell there friends and what not. Now can you fix evryones porblems uh I don't know that is all up to how much research you want to do and what not. but think about it do you think computer shops always know the anwsers nope but they know where to look to find more help. :) GOOGLE

OKay well you should be a bit more detailed with your posts and show that you have done a little research before you post questions. Cracking other peoples wireless networks is illegal and is not encouraged here at Hak.5 I would suggest you re think your approach here before you get yourself in trouble.

Agreed with moonlit. Take out the CPU and make sure none of the pins are bent. It may be possible to bend the pins back and HOPE that it will work. 8)

okay there is no guarantee that your files are safe. If your files are on a seperate partition from the one you are installing windows then yes they are prob safe. Now if they are on the same one then you will be running a risk. My recommendation would be to reboot and use a linux live to reocver what data you can off the drive and then reboot and try again. :) Remember back up back up back up. 8)

can we get some more details Make / Model info like that. Check Deivce Manager and remove the drivers and the software you have installed then reinstall and try plugging your device in.

Havn't researched it yet but my guess is it is Windows Remote Assistance with a Dell theme and logo slapped on it. :shock:

hey man I wasn't trying to be a dick only trying to encourage the use of self help. As Aardwolf linked to you should check out the rules of the forum and googling for answers is always the best solution to your problems it is even quicker then asking here on the forums. Now after you google something and you still have a question explain your problem and we are a little bit more understanding and more the happy to explain something to you in more detail. :)

If from what you say is true and you are using it for work reasons I would jsut goto your CSO and request that you are to use your notebook at work or that they install the software that you need on your work PC because as you siad you have a very limited knowledge of you work network so I assume your knowledge of networking is going to some what limited andyou are making a high risk of infecting other PCs on the network or worse even killing the entire thing then how would that look when they trace everything back in the logs to your port at your desk. Not good there buddy. Don't risk your job for something like Pron while your at work not worth it. :shock: :shock: :shock: 8)
