  1. Ive also been following since Haxor flakes and comical sketches and I have to agree with you. I feel in the older episodes, episodes went on the assumption that you had a little bit of prior knowledge (even just a little bit) so that they could dive right in to something cool. Now they are going on the basis that viewers don't know anything about their chosen subject and have to start from the ground up. P.S. Why would anyone flame you for an opinion that is reasonable? If you came on going "h4r h4r, im teh l33t nd hak5 pure suks!" im sure that may have been flamed.
  2. I could be wrong, but I think it would be: SHARE1 to Computer to SHARE2
  3. Seems interesting but I have a point to make about the adverts. Most advert providers such as Google Adsense forbids injecting or overlaying adverts on proxified pages so you cannot insert google ads or risk suspension of your account and loss of your money. Check out some of the current web proxies (the get around work filter ones) and notice none of them have google adverts on their proxy pages. Their rule on proxies would apply to you as it is essentially what your doing.
  4. Sorry to hear that. Luckily I use just the MD5 hash of one of my files as a password, and all I need to do is remember a different file. I know its not random nor the best method, its just an easy way to remember a password without writing it down or havng a guessable one. Is this intrustion anythng to do with the anti-sec movement :P
  5. To use your dual monitors you will have to fiddle about with your xorg.conf.
  6. Another Solution would be to create your own securty and pen testing linux distro with gnome and on a 64bit kernel. Even if it is just for yourself, its a really good skill to have.
  7. Companies are just not viewing the situation in the modern world. People want their media wherever and whenever they like, beit on a computer at home, a computer at work, an name-brand white media player etc. People also want to get their media easily and quickly. At the moment, I think the easiest, quickest and most convenient way to get media like music and videos is through piracy. My Comparison of first time Downloading a track from the internet: Limewire: Download > Install > Search > Download Track > Listen BitTorrent: Download Client > Install Client > Search > Download Torrent File > Download Track > Listen iTunes: Download > Install > Search > Create iTunes Account > Verify Email Address > Enter Credit Card Info > Accept T&C > Download Track > Listen Id say thats a typical first song download. Which one is Easier? Which one is a new person to online music going to choose? My bet would be limewire for people who want a few songs and BitTorrent for people who are looking for albumns. P.S. In no way is this account associated with the MPAA or RIAA and is not monitoring your interweb usage *shifts eyes* :P
  8. I am on the line of piracy. I pay for things, and I pirate things. If what I want is a fair price, I will pay for it. But it is way too expensive (adobe anyone?) I will most likely pirate it. P.S. This is not me trying to explain why I pirate things, its just my views on the piracy situation.
  9. +1 - I made an Antenna out of a spare satellite dish the Sky install man left behind. Engadget have a nice tutorial that i used. Link
  10. You might be able to get away with some of the higher end consumer wifi equipment. There are many realtively inexpensive software packages available for internet cafe's that could suit your purpose but you would need to scrutenise the reliability of them to avoid complaints and downtime.
  11. Hmmm... Ive been using a free anti-virus for years now and come to think of it, ive not actually had a virus since I ditched Norton. So in terms of symantec, The Higher the Cost, the more Bloat there is.
  12. I have to agree with the term "Personal Computer" too. More recently the line for PC has been even further blurred by Apple and Microsoft. Apples "Im a Mac, Im a PC" campaign and Microsofts "Im a PC" campaign. I use a mac but still refer to it as my PC. I call my Linux box a PC. I call my Windows box a PC. I use it and want it to continue as a generic term for "a box that you compute with".
  13. I have best team co-ordinator for Figure Marching (Boys Brigade) for 3 years running, that was quite a few years ago now :P I also have a blue-peter badge :D
  14. It depends what you mean "by your choosing". If you mean like let you choose from many different TLD's like .com, .net, .org etc then there are many registrars which let you do this such as GoDaddy. If you mean like create your own, this cannot be done at the moment, but as said before there was something being discussed about this but the status on it is unknown. If it does get passed I doubt it will be cheap so get ready to re-mortgage your house :P
  15. I wonder who posted this comment "If you want to play with Jasager go to my site and download it - www.digininja.org/jasager" :P
  16. Do you not have them? They are just like plumbers etc, you phone them and they come round and install aerials, satellite dishes etc...
  17. I dont know about the US, but in the UK most recent aerial installations are fine for digital, despite the attempts of the Aerial Installation Companies telling people otherwise. Its only if your aerial is quite old that you might run into difficulties.
  18. Now that there are lots of playable games for the iphone, many are beginning to class it as a console (i havent yet). Wheres the iPhone aye? :P
  19. What do you mean "cuts down on noise"? All Browsers load pages in the same way so it wouldnt really make a difference. Again, downloading the content is exactly what to browser does, and there is a local copy on the users hard drive so its like pissing against the wind trying to stop people downloading content.
  20. erm... thats really funny. It will be like the Dyson adverts that talk about hoovering.
  21. Its been constant jokes today. I even contributed some. I never liked him, and always feel the trial against him over his "discrepancies" were just for show, and that he would never be convicted. My Jokes Include (MJ Fans look away): I guess his heart forgot to beat it He was remaking "Heartbreaker" He was cured instantly as they took him to the UCLA Children's Hospital. (those were from before his death was confirmed, just his cardiac arrest was confirmed at the time) Michael Jackson is more that 80% Plastic, due to Government Legislation he will have to be recycled. He is going to appear as a zombie in Left4Dead 2
  22. I hate websites that block certain web browsers (or even operating systems). Ive seen lots of sites that stop opera from visiting (but some are nice enough to give you the option to use the site anyway) and ive even found sites that block OS X, usually with the words "Go Home Mac Fag" on it. I dont see the point, and these people usually are really obsessed with hits.
  23. Im currently working as an "IT Apprentice" (as they call it) on the weekends and part of it is answering the IM system now in place where people can IM you about problems, good, in theory. Lady up in Marketing Design Department. Lady - "Help! The Entire Network is down! I need a very important file!" Me - "What do you mean by the entire network? Can you be Specific?" Lady - "All of it!" Me - "Well, not all of it is down as we are using it for the chat session." Me - "What are you trying to access?" Lady - "My Documents" Me - "Do you get any sort of Error Message or Popup?" Lady - "No, I tried googling My Documents but I couldnt get access to them there either" (my favourite part)
