  1. http://researchcenter.paloaltonetworks.com/2013/11/wireless-man-middle/ One of the most cutting edge firewall vendors in the world blogged about wireless MITM attacks and mentioned the Pineapple by name in the post. Pretty sweet. :D
  2. Or a pineapple working with an RTLSDR dongle. :)
  3. I certainly concur. I was just meaning to point out that the proposed circumstances seemed a little strange - using a wifi pineapple in a completely public place with little to no discreteness whatsoever.
  4. Bob needs to come up with better reasons as to why he is using a wireless router in a public coffee shop. Like he doesn't trust an open network, so he is using his own router as a firewall between his PC and said open network. Or Bob just simply needs to be a bit more discrete, for example by changing the public SSID of his pineapple to whatever he wants it to be, then connecting wirelessly to his own pineapple and accessing the UI that way, and using his second radio in client mode to connect to the free public wifi. Then Bob can leave the pineapple completely hidden in his laptop bag/backpack, with no wires running to his laptop, and no visible flashing multi-colored LED's. In fact, Bob may want to set up his pineapple in his car prior to entering the coffee shop, so no one ever even sees Bob turning on his pineapple in the shop. Bob may go so far as to even want to park his car as close to the entrance of the coffee shop as possible, and leave the pineapple operating in his car. :)
  5. Yes - my IV and r-pi both run forever on it. The V though - different story.
  6. Is that something attributed to differences between the new battery packs and Anker batteries? My anker 10000mah gets eaten alive on the 12v output setting. I'm talking full charge to down an entire bar easily within 30 minutes or so.
  7. Yes - that's theoretically how things should work. You become the gateway for any device connected to your pineapple, and therefore any requests coming from a connected client appear to be originating from your pineapple. Thus, once you have your pineapple click through the first time, you're good to go from then on.
  8. I'm not getting the misplaced anger over vendors adapting and strengthening their device wifi security. If anything, the pineapple and hak5 should be applauded for helping force changes like that, instead of being accused of bamboozling customers.
  9. Notice though that the reaverpro is the 64/16 version of the iv. That extra flash and RAM may make all the difference.
  10. My speeds seem to be fine. Maybe an issue with the setup?
  11. The mark iv already is a router running openwrt. I am using it just as is - with the pineapple firmware on it. The chain is modem->lan/wan port on mark iv. It receives an IP & DNS settings from the ISP, set connection sharing between wifi and the lan/wan interface, and you're done.
  12. I got mine today. Awesome so far.
  13. Since my v is supposed to come in tomorrow, today my iv replaced my old linksys wrt54g as my home router.
  14. I got a notification this morning that mine has shipped. Hopefully I'll have it by Friday for some weekend fun.
  15. When is the in-depth google hangout happening?
  16. I'm going to have to find a new purpose for my r-pi now... maybe something with rfid's or ads-b. The mark v hardware makes me not want to continue a pineapple analog on r-pi.
  17. I wrote one in C# that mimics some of the functionality of trackit, but is pared down, and has its own unique features. It's got an email monitoring agent, AD integration agent, sends notifications, etc. I didn't need things like inventory management so I left that out.
  18. Thanks for the shoutout Seb. :D My order was in quickly.
  19. 3 hours to go. Time to start warming up my credit card. :D
  20. Well the shop was just taken down apple style. Adding a certain new product?
  21. I think they'll at least double RAM and flash, and hopefully have an SD slot. The box screenshot said something about expandable memory, which seems to infer there will be an SD slot. If there's also a second internal radio as we've been speculating, I think that most certainly takes up the device another level or two.
  22. Less than 12 hours. The excitement builds.
  23. I'd say very slim, but that's just a guess. Why move away from what works well, and supports the atheros and rtl8187 chipsets?
  24. Yup... confirmed by the latest softcore porn video. :D
  25. You all know that the event is not until tomorrow right? I'm sure the link will be at https://wifipineapple.com/?blog
