  1. :D Can't say I blame Seb - those Pelican 1120 (or 1150, whatever it is) cases are hard as frick.
  2. Has there been any mention of the device being sold at the launch, or if the device will be in the store on launch night? Guess I'll have my credit card on standby just in case. :D
  3. You're correct about that. Seb wouldn't even confirm or deny if the dimensions are bigger than the IV.
  4. I'm still thinking custom board. I just hope they're able to keep pricing below like $150.
  5. I was working on the 2.8.1 gui code that seb posted on github. If I remember right, I got about 75% or something like that of the code fully ported. I stopped working on it though, and haven't really touched the 3.0 code.
  6. I'll end up using mine as a wireless router. My old WRT54G needs to be put out to pasture.
  7. Maybe just me but dimensions look a bit larger than the iv. Guess no more stuffing everything into a Pelican 1050. :D
  8. Yea - that's true too. Spoofed mac straight out of the box?
  9. Giving us a small clue. The OUI of that mac is for Orient Power Home Network Ltd. I can't find a website for that company yet though.
  10. I'm gonna guess a custom board too. I thought Yun as well, but the differences seem too many: - LEDs are on the opposite side of the ethernet port on the Yun, not next to to the ethernet port like on the pineapple - Yun has only 1 embedded radio/antenna, assuming the second antenna is for a second radio, of course - Yun has no DC barrel jack on it - SD slot on the Yun is at the underside of the board opposite the ethernet port, not on a side adjacent to the ethernet port (again, assuming that the slot that we see is in fact for an SD card)
  11. Well, not if the microsd card requires a full sized adapter, like the rasp-pi.
  12. So this 5 days of pineapple thing... guessing we get a teaser video every day until the event? Evil, cruel bastards.
  13. I'm thinking a slot for an SD card. Also - dip switches and what would appear to be pins of some sort on the back?
  14. I'd have to assume - I personally wouldn't want to spend my time supporting and developing for 2 hardware platforms. I do wish there was some recourse for those of us that dropped the $100 in the past 2 weeks, but that's the way the ball bounces sometimes.
  15. Nice observation. I can also vaguely make out something about memory expansion and something about monitor modes.
  16. I doubt as well - no need to steer from something that already has alot of work put into it and works well.
  17. A poster here said they heard a rumor that the OS is now android based. http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1651197 That would make for an interesting twist.
  18. Video looks to show a DC power wire feeding it.
  19. Wondering if the second antenna is just for extra reception, or for a second radio. 2 radios in one case, without the need for an external Alfa? That would be sweet. And the video seems to show custom packaging... does that infer a custom board this time?
  20. The spacing was actually one of the first things being off from a Yun I did notice too. And the Yun is powered by 5v microusb, which according to the website, is between the USB and ethernet ports. Plus the LED's of the YUN are not near the ethernet port like in the pics. Guess we'll all just have to wait and stop speculating.
  21. If it's the Arduino Yun (which based on the layout from the images it very well could be), it does have an SD slot.
  22. r-pi would be perfect... if it had embedded wifi, and didn't sometimes have issues supplying sufficient power to the USB ports.
  23. Hah - try this instead. http://www.dragino.com/products/mother-board/item/71-ms14-p.html This sucker also has GPIO's from the AR9331 itself, and ability to add daughter boards, which would greatly open up expansion possibilities.
  24. That and the fact that AP121U based pineapples are now on clearance in the hakshop.
