  1. I am not quite sure where to put this but why should karma only work on atheros? I rushed thru the patch and didnt not see anything that seemed atheros only but I am a horrid programmor When digininja set up the first set up the patches they where for madwifi -- which only worked with prism and atheros cards then patched hostapd 0.7.2, so people could move away from madwifi and into atk5 and atk9 -- At that point I feel he opened it up to any chip that works with the nl80211 driver but there was no testing due to lack of chipset that could go to ap mode with that driver, (mainly being only prism and atheros chips that supported ap mode) Then the linux 3.0 kernel came out and that intergated more of the mac80211 stack into the wifi setup -- which then allowed the atk9_htc driver to be put in ap mode along with a few others. So i say any thing that supports hostapd should run karma. I am testing with my alfa awus036neh everything seems to work ok but i get this error meassage after the auth reassociation request: STA=00:00:00:00:00:00 capab_info=0x21 listen_interval=10 current_ap=00:00:00:00:00:00 KARMA: Checking SSID for start of association, pass through ralinkkarma new AID 1 wlan0: STA 00:00:00:00:00:00 IEEE 802.11: association OK (aid 1) mgmt::reassoc_resp cb wlan0: STA 00:00:00:00:00:00 IEEE 802.11: did not acknowledge association response Data/PS-poll frame from not associated STA 00:00:00:00:00:00 Association Response to the STA has already been sent, but no TX status yet known - ignore Class 3 frame issue with 00:00:00:00:00:00 which I have looked up and seems to be a race condition that exist in the stock hostapd with the rt2800 stuff And I have tested and receive the same error with the standard hostapd from apt-get . association request: STA=00:00:00:00:00:00 capab_info=0x21 listen_interval=10 new AID 1 wlan0: STA 00:00:00:00:00:00 IEEE 802.11: association OK (aid 1) Add randomness: count=243 entropy=242 Data/PS-poll frame from not associated STA 00:00:00:00:00:00 Association Response to the STA has already been sent, but no TX status yet known - ignore Class 3 frame issue with 00:00:00:00:00:00 mgmt::assoc_resp cb wlan0: STA 00:00:00:00:00:00 IEEE 802.11: associated (aid 1) wlan0: AP-STA-CONNECTED 00:00:00:00:00:00 Both times my mac connects to a fake access point. But since there is no backend setup it just stops after that so before I set all that stuff up. I have to ask 2 question before i set up the rest of the stuff to test this 1. Does anyone have a usb wifi card that works in ap mode that is not and atheros and works in hostapd 2. On digininja site, in the karma area it says "After some prodding from Zero_Chaos I've finally patched hostapd allowing Atheros users to move away from Madwifi-ng and into ath5k and ath9k. It should also open the field to users of Prism54 and various other cards but these are yet to be tested." Is this the first test? Hey digininja you are the man for coding this sweet program -- can you save me time by just telling me I am crazy or just wishing for something?
  2. I did not happen to save the mk2 pineapple files. I did save v2.0 fo phirna -- it is the mk2 firmware with some other tools preinstalled made by #legend or someone been a while. here is the link for that https://code.google.com/p/awh/source/browse/firmware/v2.0alpha4/openwrt-atheros-root.squashfs https://code.google.com/p/awh/source/browse/firmware/v2.0alpha4/openwrt-atheros-vmlinux.lzma You can also flash the mk3 firmware to the device and all runs pretty nicely but I think urlsnarf will crash the machine.
  3. I have karma running on mine with an alfa adapter. Its great I take it over to a friends house plug it into a tv and watch movies. In the background its running karma and enjoying the apartment complex
  4. Ok Sold. I am going to send you a pm. and just a reminder the MK 2 is broken I took it apart and removed a few things with a soldering iron ( bad idea ) The wifi on it still works soo you can set it up to run the rickroll or something if i can remember the password on it. But The ethernet port is broken and will never work. The Other 3 are in great working order
  5. I was thinking that is how they make it so your phone works ok when your upload is maxed. What do you think?
  6. Yea been watching and playing for a long time with the show. I have learned soo much and had quite a bit of fun with these. Its time for an upgrade can I talk you in to a trade for an mk4? think they are still 100 bcuks from hakshop. Or when i get home I will find that thread where they do it with hornets or something and find out how much that is.
  7. I am quite interested in how karma will behave when it is sharing the usb bandwidth with a flash drive at the same time.
  8. I have just started messing with mine but compared to the omnis. You end up not seeing stuff to the left and right of you if you holding the yagi out in front ( you like your uumm thing ) but you see a lot more infront with a better signal, the range behind is just like the omni. We had to use one at my friends apartment, We shot it across the pond to the main office for some free internet.
  9. HyperAmp® HA2401GI-1000 amplifiers are compatible with 802.11b wireless LAN equipment. Does that mean it downgrades the speed from wireless-N down to wireless-B 11mb max?
  10. I am selling / trading my wifi pineapples for a mark 4 and the jtag to flash it with. I have a fon 2100 with power supply - make offer I also have a fon 2201? with power supply - it was the monkey/intercepter basically a fon 2100 with 2 ethernet ports I have a mk 3 with power supply I also have a messed up mk 2, the wifi works but the ethernet is broken from messing up the sdcard hack on it. here are some crappy pics of them from my ipod but they are all in good working order. ( well the mk2 is messed up but hey ) I would like to trade them all for a mk4 with jtag device. or sell them to get close so i can buy one. I have no issues with flashing a ap-151u or whatever the correct one happens to be
  11. I will be there. And will spend some time assisting people at the lock pick village ( I will prolly sit there going damn how did you do that ). I am very excited about it.
  12. shoot some measages around to the people from the lock pick village and other items and you might be able to offer some time and help to get in instead fo paying for a ticket.
  13. Anyone going to the Grand Rapids Con in sept? http://grrcon.org
  14. I have finally reached 100 percent and would like to say thank you very much. md5 sums match and files have been unzipped to my usb stick. Everything looks to be working great!! Thanks Again!!
  15. Yea it up and running with a patched wifi drivers for injection, a min install and the webpage is up and running. Module system is about 90 percent done and thats where it sits now. i will add the links in now but they still have a little more work to do before they are final and i start in on making modules.
  16. Thank you very much -- set to seed this at max until sometime
  17. Sweet!! I am awaiting your post so i can start seeding it
  18. This is not a paper weight in fact I think it will be really helpful. 1. You can set it up as a normal access point. ( Something to use as a Test Point aka BurgerKing wifi when at your house) 2. Have it provide the backpack services to a pineapple 3. It should run all the programs the pineapple does except for karma and maybe the module system. ( copy the pineapples www folder over and install the pkgs needed for each module)
  19. Make sure your USB ports are putting out enought power. And then there seems to be issues with the USB code in the driver of the device. Here is a link for what I found http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-wireless/msg90364.html
  20. I would gladly seed that torrent.
  21. Isnt the pineapple running dnsmasq as a dns nameserver? If that is the case could we just add it to the hosts file since we control the router?
  22. It uses the atk9_htc driver in linux
  23. Red on the short one and Black on the Big and Long
  24. debian might be a winner for you. Its basically ubuntu but a few thing behind for stability and stuff. Plus it seems to run on damn near everything
