  1. He signed with Death Row Records after his public spat with Bad Boy Entertainment.
  2. How is the Enso ZenPad? I was thinking of getting one, but I will probally hold off until the HP Slate is in.
  3. No one cares about your photo.
  4. It depends, personally I think my iPod Touch is an incredibly slick device, but it doesn't discount the fact that in order to get the thing to do what I wanted it to and look the way I wanted it to, I have to invalidate the warranty. There is Android, which is a little rough around the edges, but it does more of what I want it to, and for me its a very real competitor. These things aren't cut and dry.
  5. Works again. Blame the fact that the forum admin grew up and got a job.
  6. Actually, 10" capacitive IPS tablet, its not going to fail, its going to be the start of something amazing. Look at iPhones, I've never owned one, but if it wasn't for Apple the phone industry would be very different. With the iPad, its not what Apple do with the idea, its how other companies react to it.
  7. Rsync or SCP + cron jobs are they only way to go.
  8. ClamAV do something for Windows, no real time scanning but apparently its good for batch scanning. In all honesty, just install MS security essentials though, it will do everything you want it to.
  9. In all honesty, Linux will never be a good desktop OS, it will always be playing catchup to Windows or OSX. However, on servers and devices it will be king. I'll own a TV and a fridge that runs Linux long before I use it as a main desktop OS.
  10. Antivir or MS Security Essentials. Both just sit there quietly doing there jobs.
  11. Agree, much as I love FreeBSD, its terrible on laptops (or as a desktop). Gentoo is a circle jerk, Linux has yet to make a desktop OS that is as good as Windows 7.
  12. Ahhh, the 90's, I remember pirating software back then, it used to be a commitment, not a pastime. 2hrs for a single MP3, weeks for an episode of the Simpsons.
  13. You could buy an network free (we call them sim free in the UK) phone, I only buy these as it makes the reuse value higher, but they are more expensive. The Desire lacks the US 3G radio bands, so it would work but you would be limited to EDGE and Wifi for data. The Nexus One is practically the same device, but has the US 3G Bands. I think the Nexus One is due out on Verizon soon though.
  14. Hero - Best of the 1st gen Android phones (I own the EU version). Spoilt by HTC's shitty update policy re: 2.1 update. HTC EVO 4G - An Android version of the Touch HD2, nice but your kinda locked into one network atm. Nexus One - Googles current baby, get this if you want the latest versions of Android asap, otherwise look at the HTC Desire if your in the EU (but beware the slow updates). Droid - Looks nice, but slower than the rest of the 2nd Gen devices.
  15. I spent £300 on a Voodoo 2 card 12yrs ago.

    Movie

By DH4 route, I mean lots of running about , different locations, fancy sets. If you opt for the Super Bad style you don't have to be flashy and Hollywood, you have to work more in the dialog, which would be adventagous as you probally don't have the cash for flashy sets, and real hacking (which you want to stay true to) is just boring text interfaces and laptops.

    Movie

Its a tough one, hacking is largely about people sitting in dark rooms alone at night chatting via IRC. Unless you go the Die Hard 4 route, which is expensive, then you might want to try something in the style of Super Bad/Adventureland.

    Cdma

CDMA uses a different type of radio module from GSM, and although it supports R-UIM cards, I understand that the US networks don't use them. The main difference from an end user POV is that a GSM phone number is tied to the SIM, meaning it can be used in any phone, where as the CDMA number is tied to the phone itself. Globally, only parts of Asia and N. America use CDMA, the rest of the world uses GSM/EDGE/UMTS, in Europe CDMA is not deployed as the EU standardized on GSM (as it is an international standard rather than a propitiatory system). In your case, there is no way to use the iPhone on a CDMA network, you will need to purchase a SIM for another network. Also be aware that jailbreaking and unlocking are 2 different things.

    DARREN!!

"Your password has been reset to Password1" "Is that a capital 1?"
  20. I like Windows Mobile, I have a Toshiba TG01. Windows Mobile was the shit back in the day, while my peers were getting excited about MMS, I was browsing the web, reading email, playing videos and music, controlling my torrents, all while on the train. It is fiddly as hell, and about as user friendly as a bullet to the foot, but it is still more powerful than Android or OSX Mobile. What other mobile phone can you connect a keyboard and mouse to, then VPN into work and RDP to a server with? Where the newer Android and OSX Mobile devices win is the ability to use them as a phone, this WinMob is fail at. Mind you, I still miss my Palm Treo 650, which was probally the best phone I have ever owned.
  21. Find some people who want to meet (you would need to have a certain critical mass), then locate a bar. Ban sales people and ties.
  22. Well yeah, once someone is on your network then your pretty much SOL.

    Phisher's

Oh for fucks sake. Just drop it already.
  24. If they have access to your machine, then yes, but unless they have valid credentials they would be unable to just access your system and get this information.
  25. The password was stored locally, which means you can recover it quite easily. Same way you can recover passwords from IE, FF, Chrome, Opera and Windows itself if you have the relevant permissions and access to the machine.
