  10. Hi all, I am just looking for ways to effectively secure my home network. So I was wondering what would be a good hardware based firewall. I know very good software based firewalls, like comodo, pfsense, SmoothWall but I want something hardware based. I don't know much about hardware based firewalls, so I hope anyone could suggest any good one. Thank you in advance Regards, Infiltrator

  23. Not bad at all, but I would go with a 1TB raid 5 dock. It gives you security against one HDD failure, I know it should not be enterilly relied upon for data protection. But its a step towards protecting it.

    Unique Ssid

You can still use default SSIDs and have it scrambled with any encyption algorithm like WPA/WEP but its just not the best pratice.
  25. For domain settings windows will definitely do the job. Because it can do active directory whereas linux can't. So if you want to be able to join computers to a domain use windows 2003/2008 server. But Linux can also do DNS, DHCP, file sharing, mysql and other services as well.
