  1. Mixing two things here that are not the same. RAM degrades as time goes on as noted in Ep 521 and Ep 522. Originating idea from http://citp.princeton.edu/memory/ Files deleted in Windows just get a flag changed to signify the file is no longer there. The hex value E5 signifies in Windows that a file has been deleted. It changes the beginning of the file (being the filename) first value to E5. So you can identify and recover Windows deleted files. The RAM being volatile data and the files being non-volatile data. At least from a forensic standpoint.
  2. Get a forensic live CD. For example Helix 3 and make a forensic image of it. Then you can use various methods (scapel, other file carvers here) to recover most if not all files.
  3. No, Please google. There is plenty of information out there. I will not spoon feed this. http://www.google.com/search?q=ettercap+filters http://www.irongeek.com/i.php?page=security/ettercapfilter http://linux.die.net/man/8/etterfilter http://linux.die.net/man/8/ettercap http://ettercap.sourceforge.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2833 http://ettercap.sourceforge.net/
  4. Same here, Whole house is gigabit wired and wireless is just there for kicks...
  5. I fix all my computer issues myself. But for kicks I got the disc the geek squad uses. If they can't fix it with their disc, they send it out... I known people who worked for them. They know nothing... The disc is Geek Squad's MRI
  6. Then you may need to update the BIOS if possible. Good luck finding support for that old technology. Wait.. now I'm confused... Is this one system with a Ubuntu drive in it already? and you are adding a second drive?
  7. In a Business environment DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT put a DHCP server online! The networking people WILL NOT like that. Especially if it doesn't have internet access and get help desk complaints about not being able to connect to the intra/internet. Even if it assigns IPs with network access they will get angry. Did this in my forensic lab. Some people popped up DHCP by accident and all sorts of chaos happened.
  8. As Sparda said. If the motherboard isn't recognizing it, there is only a few possibilities. 1) you just broke your Motherboard connector 2) The drive is dead 3) bad cable 4) Jumper settings on the hard drive Your motherboard should recognize something is there.. even if it cannot identify it.
  9. If I'm not mistaken, ATI GPU programs are faster than the CUDA architecture. CUDA just has more support/popularity. Keep in mind, when pass cracking/brute forcing you will cap out the CPU as well (at least with BarsWF). I'm not sure what you would possibly want to have that setup for? If you wanna brute force it is going to take up a lot of GPU and CPU power. Are you thinking you can play PC games while pass cracking/brute forcing? Bad plan if so. You can use Windows software or Linux software for such things. BarsWF is made for Win/nix. Elcomsoft Distributed Password Recovery is for Windows and you need to buy license for X ammount of clients. They come in 20, 50, 100, 200+ or something. I have a 20 client version.
  10. http://linuxowns.wordpress.com/2008/04/28/...tu-to-your-ps3/ http://www.howtoforge.com/set-up-a-linux-p...with-ubuntu8.04 http://www.redkawa.com/mediacenters/ps3mediacenterx/
  11. Well for me, I use windows media player and it makes a "Home network" kinda sharing thing. That is how I watch all my AVI's on my PS3 via network. There is plenty of ways to set this up via google search. For me: Open Windows Media Player Top left-ish has a "Stream" drop down. Click that and go "More Streaming Options" Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center\Media streaming options <-- should pop up Click through all that stuff and configure how you wish. After that you just scan for media servers with your PS3 if it doesn't show up already. This is for Win7 btw.
  12. You need to run it through some kind of proxy. Ettercap filters would probably be easiest for you. Or make your own proxy packet modifying device.
  13. With windows it's pretty easy, Linux is also pretty easy as well to bridge or forward traffic. Depends on the functionality you need.
  14. You are confused on what the reset button does. It does not flash the firmware. It will keep the same firmware version just clear all settings that were changed. For example port forwards, security, so on. If your network is still insecure wirelessly you can be subject to ARP poison again by someone close by. Start>Run>CMD type: ARP /? That will get you the ARP help As for the processes I'm sure it's normal. You look as if you are running Win7/Vista so yeah. As to the virtual tunnel adapters, I know Win7 makes a virtual wireless adapter to add as a sharing access point kind of thing. Google your issue for multiple tunnel adapters. I have and seen a few results but you can read and find out what other's did to fix/find out what is going on.
  15. Yes an angry letter. My modem went on a quarantine list. My IP was reported spamming emails of spoofed WoW emails. Did my best to prevent this crap but yeah oh well. If I would have ignored that letter and continued to run my Tor node with these reports happening I would have my service turned off. Regardless of other ISPs in the area or a business class service. It was the being reported thing that got me the letter.
  16. If it is a neighbor that is pointless and they will not do it from just one report. If you can find out their IP with enough evidence they will send a letter to the person and quarantine the modem. I've had this happen to me personally a few times :P. Power cycling the router would clear all the ARP cache so problem solved until the malicious person ARP poisons you again. AGREED. If you are being ARP poisoned the link must ALWAYS be there in order to allow you to see things on the internet. Think of it as a physical connection between you, the MITM hax0r, and the world. You can use simple command line to clear ARP cache. The problem at least from my perspective is that you kept downloading some malicious file (backdoor R.A.T.) that you THOUGHT was legit.
  17. Any 2.4 Ghz antenna with the right connector will work. My Cisco Aironet 1200 uses a larger connector (cant remember which) but as for getting a pigtail I plan on ripping apart old/unwanted/broken wireless G routers people I know don't want. De-soldering the antennas whip and connector. Another note is... I talked to digininja and we are unsure if the openWRT will utilize dual antennas. At least on the fon. Not sure, I really should look at my webif to see if there is a setting... Edit: OK, so I just fired up my webif and looked around. Under I think System main tab, then wireless sub tab I see this. So it does look as if you can use dual antennas. Assuming webif applies the setting correctly...
  18. Snort manuals and what not do advise that it is not really good to use that as a way to thwart virus behavior. But if you read up on snort manual it talks about it in there...
  19. I will be taking a Digital Communications course which I think the class on a nice day goes outside and tries to find FTA channels. I can update when the course is offered and I take it. As for the hacking, From what I heard there was a big recent change in how things work. Only one FTA receiver can decode the signal right now last I looked into it.
  20. All I could say is if you REALLY want to tear it apart, I would like to assume the following. Solder Experience. Electronics Background. Pigtail w/ reverse SMA connector 2.4 Ghz Antenna A little common sense is always good to have too... :P I would say open it up and take a picture of it and put on here, maybe we can identify the right area. It should look exactly the same as the original antenna location (I would assume). Keep in mind you will need the right connector for an antenna that you will be soldering onto this board.
  21. Book I learned by was "How to program C/C++ 6th edition" I think they are on 7th now? I also have a book comparable to War and Peace that is called "Mastering C/C++"
  22. Mr-Protocol

    PS3

if (serious != yes) { printf("but if possible to copy the games in the HDD"); } Yeah, there is no point, with games getting so large, to put them on a hard drive. And yes if serious...
  23. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=869180 Post 4 This should give you something similar to windows multi monitor setup. Assuming you have the drivers installed and just need the setup configured. I used that when I setup my laptop do VGA out on BT4. I used this post though: http://www.ubuntugeek.com/dual-monitors-with-nvidia.html Other commands to try: sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg gksudo nvidia-settings xfix And why purchase more cards? It's linux dude, you can do anything... It just takes a little work and understanding.
  24. One post. Let's start off with what did you research? Second, brute forcing any account now is worthless due to they will lock the webmail account and probably ban your IP address for too many requests.
  25. You are retarded. 1) I was offering the service to whatever use but didnt want to allow torrents or illegal activities. Fact is a port is a port and can be abused even with just 80 443 allowed. 2) I posted the library as an example of a WARNING banner. 3) I ask mod to lock the post because it is way off topic. Stop trolling for real. I'm done with your pathetic ass.
