  1. Yep. I don't think a MK808 will have the horsepower to do what you want. I could be wrong though. I'd just pick up a linksys wrt and load up dd-wrt or monowall, I think monowall will run on a wrt. Crap, monowall is out, needs x86 processor, smoothwall also requires an x86 processor, they don't support arm.
  2. I know I've swapped out older P4 chips in older Dell laptops, so it is possible, you just have to fine the right chip.
  3. Once your pineapple has internet access, hit the pineapple bar link in the pineapple configuration page.
  4. http://raided4tor.cryto.net/ Kinda like running an open access point, the feds are knocking down your door for what someone else does with your internet address.
  5. Someone else made a linux on a stick computer that ran from usb and powered from usb that would take over a running computer. Think secure os that would work on a public kiosk. I'm trying to remember the name, something about dogs. I'll post up a link once I remember. Found it. Looks like they never really got it to production. http://www.linuxfordevices.com/c/a/News/Pocketable-Linux-server-creates-plugandgo-Linux-desktop/
  6. I think you need a bigger box... ;)
  7. It has an amd athalon something or other, it is replaceable, the 6 million dollar question is what will the laptop support?
  8. Cisco thought it was a good idea... http://www.amazon.com/Cisco-Linksys-USBVPN1-USB-Firewall-Adapter/dp/B0000A55GO Though some times some of the things Cisco does just boggles the mind.
  9. Yea, whatever happened to the MK3 backpack?
  10. Nothing free that I've ever seen. The guys that make Ekahau Heat Mapper have one that will do it. http://www.ekahau.com/products/real-time-location-system/overview.html
  11. bridge0: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,SMART,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 ether ac:de:48:29:88:19 inet 192.168.2.1 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.2.255 Configuration: priority 0 hellotime 0 fwddelay 0 maxage 0 ipfilter disabled flags 0x2 member: en2 flags=3<LEARNING,DISCOVER> port 6 priority 0 path cost 0 This is your problem.
  12. Usually when this happens I have to just reflash.
  13. Here's the destructions I followed. The antenna ends up being just shy of two feet long with lmr-400 cable. http://wireless.gump...memadeomni.html
  14. Kitchen, Morse, Tobias. Though it was kinda fun finding Shannon's relatives place in NC just from what they showed on the show. I think Beakmyn went so far as to get the building plans from the local municipality! I just posted google streetview shots of the front of the house...
  15. It's pretty good. I ran it at home for a few years, eventually upgraded to pfsense.
  16. I've seen proxmox mentioned a few times now, do they have a free for home use version like vmware?
  17. I've built a couple. Cutting the coax is the hardest part. I had a partial spool of lmr-400 that was too short to use for anything else so I cut pieces too long, then used a razor blade to cut the coax part the correct size then trimmed the center conductor. If you make the elements a half inch too long they are easier to work with, and you can roll them on a flat desk to make the cuts. You have to be careful for the starting cut, but after that the blade will ride in the cut. Being as the whole thing is home made, a little off here and there isn't going to make a huge difference, especially if it's "tuned" for the center of the band. I'm pretty sure most of the destructions you will find on the internet are made this way.
  18. And @DJJeff, yea, that would work, but like thesugarat said, too expensive.
  19. If it's anything like the one sitting right here in front of me, the pineapple would have to connect to the drive's ad-hoc wifi. I'm not sure if that can work with just one wifi adapter.
  20. Yep, synergy server running in windows, clients on the two linux and one mac laptops. The trimon on top was free! I parted it out for the monitors, was the only part worth keeping. It's taken me years to build this up. My desktop is running two radion hd 5700's. The Dell monitor in the middle was cheaper than the Samsung monitors on either side, even though it's a 23" and they are only 21's. They're 1600X1200 and it's 1900X1200. The three up top are only 1024X768, and the oddball on the end is 768X1366. The desktop has 6 optical drives as well. I re-ripped my cd collection a few months back and didn't want it to take a year. Probably have a couple thousand cds.
  21. It won't let me change mine either. I even filled out all the fields in the change email side.
  22. Thanks digip! Win8, Ubuntu SE 11.04, Backtrack 5r3, Mac Os 10.6.8
  23. What makes you think they'll read this post if they don't read the first pinned post at the top of this page?
  24. So basically your third sentence violates your first....
